What is the moral/ethic counter argument to veganism?
I mean except "It's fucking good" I can't see none.
Why are you not vegan anon?
191 posts and 21 images submitted.
>>
Its an unnatural diet and extremely constricting. Why should I put so much effort into following a rigid and unvaried diet which will ultimately cause me as many health problems? Morality isnt a substantive argument to do or not do something for most people.
>>
These animals have been bred for millennia solely to produce these things for humans. Their whole raison d'ĂȘtre is to give us food.

It would be unethical to deny their history, much like denying war to men.

Is history the biggest joke of a field there is if people like the Nazis for example can commit numerous atrocities that would deem them evil by any mentally healthy person's standards, but just shorter than a century later revisionists can make up lies and reinterpretations to make them look good after all and no one can prove that those revisionists are wrong?
Kind of like when I say there is a breakdancing unicorn everywhere in the world where no one is looking and with enough people willing to believe that and act on that belief, the actual truth doesn't matter anymore?
Because it seems to me that this is happening.

It all comes down to the spook of ethnic pride. People will believe anything that makes them feel good and part of something greater.
>>
The actual field is not a joke.

The masses and uninitiated into the field are the ones who propagate these theories anyway.

Even David Irving has calmed down his spiel and admits that 2 million Jews were purposely murdered by the Nazis and has revised his Dresden figures multiple times to a puny 50,000 (Even though city council figures estimate 22-25,000).

I suggest you stop browsing 4chan for a while.

Who could have been behind this rampant relativism I wonder?

>In the Treaty of Fontainebleau, the Allies exiled him to Elba, an island of 12,000 inhabitants in the Mediterranean, 20 km (12 mi) off the Tuscan coast. They gave him sovereignty over the island and allowed him to retain the title of Emperor. Napoleon attempted suicide with a pill he had carried after nearly being captured by the Russians during the retreat from Moscow. Its potency had weakened with age, however, and he survived to be exiled while his wife and son took refuge in Austria.[170] In the first few months on Elba he created a small navy and army, developed the iron mines, oversaw the construction of new roads, issued decrees on modern agricultural methods, and overhauled the island's legal and educational system.[171][172]

What if Napoleon had committed suicide?

What do you think his legacy would have been? Would he have been seen as a coward? Another tyrant that ended it?

Did his return and acceptance lead to a more glorified version of him?

How do you think history would have changed if Napoleon committed suicide and never managed to come back?

We didn't have modern forensics in those days so his death would probably be ruled out as natural causes or somesuch.

Just started to get interested in history, so I'm making a thread where we share youtube history channels. And also so I can have some knowledge here in my garage

I know this board doesn't like CrashCourse, don't know why tho (if you could explain to me), so I'm starting with these

It seems like there are two sides to this.

>women did lots of important things throughout history even though they were suppressed. Men stole many of their ideas and took them for their own.

And

>women didn't really invent or do much at all even though they had the chance. Women's suppression is exaggerated

Which is the truth? Is it true that Joan of arc never was in a fight or that a man actually wrote Frankenstein?

>Tl;dr
Did women actually invent and create stuff throughout history, and if not, why?

>Did people back then actually think they had powers?
Divination models can go either way in positing personal power. Many of them put the power in the divination tools themselves.

In the end, though, I don't think it's a matter of "belief" for most diviners in history. It yielded meaningful answers for them. That's why it persists (And I'm not talking about the shitty newspaper 'horoscope').

Why is it that for a large part of history, and in many cultures, it was acceptable for males both to express feelings of intimate affection and sexual desire for "youthful" types (i.e. twinks - hairless, pubescent, young) males, but never for more "manly" (i.e. bara) types of men?

because liking baras as a manly man makes you a homo ie: attracted to people that are just like you

Because liking dudes is gay, but there's nothing gay about admiring beautiful things, like youth.
>>

Not really in East Asia. Samurai had pederasty but grown, manly men, married with wives and children who had homo tendencies also bonked with each other.

Old China in particular.

Could steel helmets have been useful for infantry in the 1700-early 1800s period?
What difference could they have made if one side did use them?
Keep in mind that during the Napoleon era wars the British introduced shrapnel shells.

Interestingly enough: the Tokugawa Period in Japan saw the demise of armor usage due to the Tokugawa Peace + proliferation of firearms. As such, the 1700s Tokugawa period soldier - both Samurai and regular-ass soldier- were cunts in Kimono uniforms and helmets, on the logic that "k fine, armor is fucked by bullets, but can we at least have something for the head? you can get one shotted by being hit there."

That sucks dude. How old are you? I almost made the same mistake when I was considering becoming a teacher. Have time to get a new education? What's your BA focus?
>>
>>2099769

im 26. i was enroute to being a HS history teacher then decided i didn't want to. i was already 3 years into college and through 2/3rds of the way through teaching certification gateways. i actually got a commendation from both the teacher i worked under, and even the school principal for how well i worked in the class room. i did my "guided" student teaching with an honors social studies class and an ESL social studies class and they were really impressed on how i was able to adapt my lesson plans to the two different groups of students.

i dunno i had it all going for me, then just one week i decided i didn't wana be a teacher. i dropped out and became a construction worker. eventually i got hurt on the job and i wanted to improve my job prospects but still not wanting to be a teacher and the closest thing i was to was a BA in HIST. i figured a BA in anything is better than nothing.
