>this is difficult in linux
is it though?
Never used linux but even on windows most package managers have something like "--tree=/some/fucking/path" option.
>>55310859
yeah
even when you can it breaks shared libraries
>>55310816
Because we are smart enough to have a different software that will take care about everything package related.
Why would I want this anyways?
So which side is currently winning in the battle for /g? Amdrones or nvidia shills?
i have a graphics card in my computer
480, 1070, 1080, 970, 980.
What do these numbers mean?
>>55310689
>winning in the battle
/g/ is winning with all the quality threads
attention /g/ i am about to buy a 1050w psu for my p45-neo2 fr mobo and upgrade my failing 560ti to a wonderful r9 fury x is there anything i should know beforehand?
>Fury X
Retarded.
>>55310221
If you havent bought the fury x yet, make more comparisons around that price range. What do you need a 1kw psu for?

So now that AMD dissappointed(again), its time to restart the waitfag hype train for whats coming next.
Who here ready for Vega? Performance of 3 GTX 1080s for $500, calling it now
I'll have a wccftech post up within the hour with this breaking insider news.
>>55310036
AMD is always a disappointment.
>>55310108
Correct me if im wrong but shouldnt you compared them with 390?
Post your Cinebench R15 scores
>>55309972
How about everyone post your single core scores
>>55309991
Why?
R11.5 is better in my opinion for CPU comparisons.
1070 vs 480 4gb
>Shader Processing Units
>1902 vs 2304
>Technology
>16nm vs 14nm
>L2 Cache
>2048 KB vs 4096 KB
explain to me this pls. im not shilling for one or the other, but i'm just curious how the 1070 underperforms in these areas when it uses pascal.
those areas don't really matter if your driver sucks and you're clocked 30% lower
>>55309950
isn't crimson supposed to be an improvement? and how does clock speed matter more than cores? i thought that was the meme people used against AMD for ages now it's a plus?
bumpin
Why is every other post just an AMD pajeet mass marketing plan or nvidiot jewpost? I though GPU battles for videos games (which is all they argue about) were supposed to be on >>/v/ .
Yeah, I hate how /g/ is filled with /v/ faggots... I've been trying to stop coming to 4chins for a long fucking time now.
>>55309895
>tfw you are part of the intel GPU master race
>>55309895
>graphics cards aren't technology
>>>/reddit/
It's absolutely appalling what AMD has done. I ordered the 480 the second it went live with expedited shipping, I even gave away my 970 in expectation of this. I did all of this only to find out the fucking GPU is a steaming pile of shit. They are fucking me in the ass after tricking me out of my money, like a gold digging whore to a rich old man.
I waved my return so I'll be stuck with this shitstain. is there anything else that can be done? Like a lemon law or anything to force them to take it back once I get it?
>>55309888
Don't be an assuming retard next time? And don't sell off perfectly good parts that you just upgraded to. No matter how you look at it the fault is yours.
>>55309888
If this is a Nvidia shill I almost fell for it.
>>55309888
dumb frogposter
Im looking for a laptop with my $350 budget, a laptop that i can browse on daily without a problem and also download my movies and tv shows. Is this laptop worth the $350? I just need something that will last for at least a year and a half or 2.

Show me your laptop stickers, /g/.

Launchcode? STL or elsewhere? If STL I'll totally be looking out for you.
>>55310070
STL. I did their cs50x course, finishing up section 8 now and finishing my project. Did you do cs50x or something else?

so i have been slowly getting into the pc world. everything is new to me and i have a few questions. i picked up a tower that someone else previously built and was wondering if what i have is decent and where should i begin my upgrades and why? right now i have an i5 processor. 8gb of ram. 1 ssd 100gb and 1 hdd 1tb. radeon hd 7900 graphics card. any help would be appreciated.
op here also i have a gigabyte ga-z77x-ud3h motherboard.
>>55309202
What are your questions?
>>55309466
what and where should i start upgrading?
My hardware works perfectly and all the applications I need for work run perfectly on it.
I'm not even tempted to upgrade anything except getting extra external hard drives now and then.
everything is around 5-7 years old.
that's perfectly fine. personal security is a large factor for financial endeavors, especially those regarding technology. do what makes you happy, anon. though i must say, upgrading parts feels very nice.
>>55308947
>everything is around 5-7 years old.+ 0 post omitted.
this is fine but i cant stand my desktop unless i upgrade it every 2-3 years.
mainly storage and gpu
i have a 6 year old laptop i never upgrade them or mobiles because theres no point.
>>55308947
This is why I hide the GPU threads.
