Anyone having trouble getting a tech job in the UK since Brexit?
Being from the UK and trying to get a job inside/outside UK or being from outside the UK getting a job inside the UK?
It hasn't been long enough to see has it?

not actually left yet, but i doubt companies will be hiring, they are more likely to be making layoffs.
so you better sign on while you can.

Alright lads, which one is better? MSI gtx 1070 gaming x, or this one?

Anyone who bought a 1070, which manufacturer did you buy from and do you like it?

I bought super clocked from EVGA. Gigabyte was my second choice. I love both of their products and you can't go wrong with any of the bigger companies really (MSI, gigabyte, EVGA). It's best to compare customer service and warranties since price and performance tend to be around the same range depending on the models.
As for my SC it has performed pretty well so far.
>>55303650
How much was your final price after tax and shipping? do you think the price will go any lower within the year? I ordered an msi 1070 gaming x, but debating on cancelling it and waiting.
With Tesla """"""""""this"""""""""" far ahead into the self driving car game will Google, Uber or Apple ever catch up?
To be honest, I don't like the idea of tech companies building cars. Most of these people don't even drive.
To be honest, I don't like the idea of doctors healing people. Most of these people don't even have diseases.
To be honest, I don't like the idea of people attempting to improve others' quality of life. Most of these people were never really alive in the first place.

So I am potentially applying to join the Intelligence wing of the Royal Air Force as an Officer. Is this /g/? Will I get a good idea of specific military grade computer systems and be technically proficient in a way that will potentially secure me security/tech related civilian jobs when I come out of the forces?
Has anybody here had any military experience in a similar supportive role? How does it relate to /g/ fields of interest?
>UK military
I hope you like Windows Server 2003

Yes, I'm sure reading reports from and typing reports to outdated equipment will really put you ahead.

Good points. Surely this can be the basis to pursue work in more advance fields of intelligence though?
I just got one of the asus t100 from a friend for free any ideas of what to do with it? short of destroying it that is.
Probably a fairly convenient way to watch anime in bed
If you need to ask what to do with it you have no use for it. So sell it.
give it to me so i can play hearthstone at work
Can we have editor theme thread?
Post what you use and what makes your eyes happy.
I can't decide between pic related and the one that Visual studio dark looks like.
The only thing that bothers me is that VS dark is mostly blue and white, while spacegray has more colors for different elements in code so it makes it I guess more readable.
I wish there is VS dark theme with just a little bit more coloring although I am fucking in love with that blue/white on dark bckg.

even their hotfix driver for it doesn't even fix it.

>new card has slight problems with 0.0000001% of displays.
Hey, I hear it doesn't have UHF out. Is it true it's not plug and play with my black and white TV?
Many new phones are coming out WITHOUT a 3,5mm jack, meanwhile most people use 3,5mm headphones every day.
Some might argue for the benefits of usb headphones, but that is not relevant. Firstly - they are minimal, but most importantly it's not a reason to take away the choice and complicate most peoples lives with adapters and not being able to charge while using a cable.
The true question is, 3,5mm vs. thinner phone. This cannot be stressed enough. Do you think taking away the 3,5mm jack for the practically indefensible but very fashionable thinner phone? Keep in mind, anything beyond ~1mm thinner than currently is just compromising with other components like battery.
>>55302900
I don't think people care because half the people walk around with fatass cases on their phones anyway.
Making the phones thinner and thinner at the expense of functionality and battery life is bullshit.
Battery technology is improving but phones aren't lasting any longer and sometimes even dying sooner because for every improvement in battery tech, they make the phone thinner and the battery smaller.
This consumerist bullshit has to stop. Who fucking cares how thin your phone is?
Just don't buy a phone that doesn't have one.

You could swap Github for Gitlab and it would still work, there's nothing wrong with Void or Nix.

Didn't realise that.
Maybe I'll give it a try.
>>55302736
Actually, Void seems like a pretty decent operating system. At least it's not riddled with Systemd cancer.
