Ask questions, discuss tips and tricks, discuss your favorite software, and share your experiences.
Users of all skill levels are welcome. Let's keep it civilized and remember to not feed the trolls.
OS X on Apple hardware is also welcome.
What's the actual point? Save money or not to support apple?
>>55452067
to run OS X? Some people prefer it and/or it has some specific software. And yeah, not everyone has money or wants to support Apple.

Fuck, why hackintosh?
Why not just make a friendly Apple general instead?

The best thing that could come out of this shitpost is a rare Kurzweil Pepe.
GTX 1060 is everything AMD said the RX 480 would be.
Might be. I've been using Radeons for a while. I may shift to NVidia afterall.
I'd instantly switch to Nvidia if they supported Freesync/VESA adaptive sync.
Nvidia just waited for AMD to fuck up with the 480, then they release a card that is better in every way.

Looking for advice on a portable music player.
I've used my cellphone (note 4) for the last year or so, but recently the size has been bothering me. I'm looking for something small and light-weight but with good enough hardware to play flacs into good IEMs. I'm not expecting the AMP/DAC quality I have with my PC/over-ears (my current IEMs aren't too great) but, I'm looking for something that I can still use when I do get a good pair of in-ears.
Size/portability and expandable memory are the two most important factors. Audio quality is important, but I can't quite break the bank, and I do most of my serious listening on my computer. I'm looking at the ~$100 price range, but I'm willing to spend a bit more if something is exceptionally what I'm looking for.
DAP recomendations?
pic related is what I'm leaning towards now although its larger than ideal. Is their anything ~sandisk sized without being an mp3 player?

If you're looking for purchase advice, READ THE BUYERS GUIDE FIRST. Then post, stating budget and requirements (e.g. size and performance).
Don't buy anything OTHER THAN T, X AND W/P SERIES if you want the Real ThinkPad Experience™
Recommended models:
T420 - 14", normal size
X220 - 12.5", ultraportable
----
Why ThinkPad? (also applies to other business laptops)
>Used machines are plentiful and cheap.
>Excellent keyboards - tactile feel and quiet.
>Great durability: chassis uses a magnesium rollcage for structural integrity, with high quality plastic body panels.
>Utilitarian design: e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models.
>Docking stations that easily turns your laptop into a desktop.
>Easy to repair, upgrade and maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for every model. Spare parts are easy and cheap to obtain.
>The best trackpoint (that red thing in the middle of the keyboard). Great for those who type a lot or hate swiping their fingers all over a touchpad.
>Excellent GNU/Linux & *BSD support.

stop posting shitting streets
>>55466572
Yeah I dunno about that. Someone said Sapphire was dropping a Devil version of the 480 sometime soonish. AMD has a history of dual soultions in the past, and it stands to reason they would love to stick two 480's together. They also have a new designation in the naming scheme, there will be xx5 revisions to the cards, so 485, 495, etc. I hope it is not Vega or whatever though. That would be a real let down.
>>55466717
>stick 2 480s together
So they only made one gpu again?
FFS AMD, get your shit together.
