Hey guys I have been wanting to make my own forums site for a while now, i'm not advanced enough to code/whatever myself but I was looking into using a site called "sitegrounds.com" to make my own. Looks promising but there are mixed reviews about everything seems like bluehost, hostgator, and sitegrounds are the best choices but i've heard alot of shitty things about bluehost and hostgator.
Feel free to give your input it would be much appreciated.
(p.s. I am not looking to make anything anonymous, more like a gaming forums site that's just chill and not tryhard. Looking to run adsense on it though in hopes of making it self-sustainable and maybe paying for it's own upgrades and cutting me a profit aswell.)

Quite the opposite actually. Unless it's in the sweet spot between two hvac vents it's going to have less airflow than a case with even one exhaust fan.
Sorry for replying to b8.

What the fuck is wrong with my Note 3 battery?

It just plummets all the time. I figured it was just an old battery getting bad so I bought a new one. Not much better. 100 percent charge lasts maybe a few hours.

Does other crazy shit too like I might have 30 percent left. Will try to take a photo and it will just kill the phone and it won't reboot until I plug it in. And then it will come back on with 50 something percent.

Or let's say I have 12 percent battery and plug it in. It will immediately drop to maybe 7 percent when I plug it in.

I've tried completely reformatting the phone and I don't think that helped much. I don't have much of any apps running in the background at all. I thought about trying something like Cyanogenmod to see if that helps but I kinda doubt it.

Any thoughts?

You need to recalibrate the battery ticks in Android. Basically the probes send out pulses every so often but they're only sent back an OFFSET so if the software doesn't truly know the hardware then it can only try to guess the percentage.

A battery doesn't have a CPU onboard so it's not like it can receive the request for charge level then send it back to the phone, you need to recalibrate the Android OS.

Bumping after 3 minutes is unacceptable on /g/. You're not that important, kid.

Thanks for the recommendation. Sorry for bumping. This board moved a lot faster than I expected it to.

what kind of configuration is best for a desktop?
I mean in the environment sense.
I've always used laptops, so tiling wm were a must.
However, desktops have mouses, so it makes me question if tiling wm are even good here.
What do you use in your desktop?

Thinking of finally building myself a pc, here's the pcpaetpicker list.

http://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/6Fj3Z8

But instead of buying windows, I was thinking what if I bought a cheap laptop like the hp stream 11 and used the windows licence on that for my desktop, and install Linux on the laptop?

Is that possible?

Why isn't the GNU Hurd being worked on by people like Stallman or the GNU people? The GNU system is incredible with Linux or even a BSD kernel yet GNU Hurd has been in development for longer than Linux yet is nowhere near it, it is said to be experimental at this point, that shouldn't be the case, it would be nice to see someone actually undertake completing the GNU Hurd today, the GNU Hurd kernel equates to 13 megs of code while Linux today is 1.5 Gigs of raw code and can do muxh more things, is the Hurd ever going to be finished or is it meant to languish and be forgotten? I would love to see an entire GNU system running nothing but GNU one day

Next question: what should I get instead?

I feel like invisibility is calling for me. Or not "me", as "me" as in an identity is a security risk, but more like: observation of a calling towards total 100% OPSEC ghost-mode cryptosis.

How do I achieve this?

For good identity management I feel I need to let go of my ego, which might be one of the more difficult parts of total cryptosis.

Also, I have a tendency to slip, such as go back to identities that have been compromised (but which i use to contact people i am hopelessly attached to). How to harden my OPSEC?
5 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
I feel like every service online is a honey pot, and every piece of hardware I use filled with backdoors. So my solution to OPSEC has been to abandon all information tech gadgets completely and just wander the streets without access to the internet.

But I really like sum dings on da webz.

Plus: it makes my state identity seem suspicious if i don't constantly generate some facebook data stream of my jolly adventures at bars and festivals. Osama Bin Laden had his house located, because it was identified as an informational black hole. I must appear normal, so I can't just hide in total darkness.

*sigh*
>>
The amount of work it takes to stay in cryptosis begs the question:
>why bother?

Somehow in my adventures of not having any gadgets with me for prolonged times have given me a glimpse of the FREEDOM that cryptosis has to offer. Crypto-induced GNOSIS is what I'm after, I feel like I've seen the possibilities of surveillance free existence, and they have excited me.

But now I'm back on a computer, weak as I am, and I feel like that experience of cryptosis is slipping from my memory already.

But, I kind of believe, that with a rigorous system, it is possible to manage one's identities and alibis so that I can enjoy both times of full cryptosis and also use the webz to contact some friends and watch animu.

Or am I a hopelessly delusional addict? Do I have to give up the internet alltogether?

Which one is the best for running windows applications that require 3D acceleration and some CPU processing power ranging from photoshop, cad to world of warcraft?

Would I notice any big loss in performance if I just used wine?
12 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
wine is sometimes good

VMs are garantueed, but slow (even w/kvm) espacially with gaming of course

PCI pass through is a risk honestly. It's not guaranteed, but with it I broke my system in a week. Ever since without it it's been fine. It's just personal experience. You might have a different one.
>>
>>56216371
I've been running a qemu/kvm virtual machine with GPU passthrough for gaming for tha past month or so, it's not as hard as it looks, but it's not easy either.

I can't speak for wine photoshop or CAD, but most games that run DX9 and older work great.

If you want to go with the VM/passthrough decision, read a lot and don't use ANY of the guides that you can get online as a step by step walkthrough, read couple and adapt them to your needs.
>>
>>56216817
Qemu with kvm gets you pretty close to native performance.

I've been using PCI passthrough for 6 months with both arch and debian with no problems. Chances are that you didn't configure it correctly.
