I sent over 200 individually tailored resumes since March (manually). And I went to about 8 interviews but got rejected from all of them. I believe tech interviews are totally f***ed up. I have been asked so many ridiculous questions that makes me sick for days just thinking about them. Every job posting I see asks for "SENIOR DEVS".
So I'm going to take a different approach. I believe in the numbers game. There are ton of companies out there. But its impossible for me to find them one by one.
So I'm building a bot to speed up this process: 1- Find a list of all companies 2- Filter only those companies that hire software devs 3- tailor my resume based on specific keywords 4- send emails 5- reply and arrange interview based on my schedule.
Currently I'm working on the first part. The bot finds a list of companies using major search engines. Each search engine has a certain query limit. So I use proxies to get around it. And when the system runs out of proxies, it starts data processing till the query limits are reset. Currently the bot harvested about 895,000 companies across the US. But only 9000 has been processed to see if they hire software developers.
For the data processing, I used AWS at first but it got pricey very quickly. So I built a nodejs version of my bot and used socket.io to handle connections. I run the bot as a daemon on each one of the library computers of my University. There are about 80 computers that I can access without credentials. Also I connected my slack bot to get live status from each processing node. I think at some point the system admin will notice the unusual CPU loads. So I renamed the nodejs process as chrome and I run the bot during busy hours to make it look like people are using chrome on those computers.
Anyway, so the only important part left is to automatically tailor my resume based on keywords. I don't exactly know how to go about this. Do I need to use some kind of machine learning method?

So, /g/ not all of us, but some of us know about this shit that Microsoft is pulling so here's the steps to remove the telemetry
related shit from your computer.
1. Create a batch script from here to uninstall updates which are telemetry

Under "Maintenance" "WinSAT"
"Media Center" and click the "status" column, then select all non-disabled entries and disable them.
services.msc:
"Remote Registry" to "Disabled" instead of "Manual".

Hey /g/,
I need some help from you guys. I'll have to replace a supercap that's started leaking but I'm not entirely sure what to look in the replacement.
It is known to fail in this device and so you can find discussions online about it online.
The original cap reads 2.5V 10F on it and that's it but I have no idea what the ESR is for example and how critical it is sticking to similar specs here. I see 2.5V 10F caps rated from 3 all the way to 200 mOhm.
What to buy?

generally with caps you can up the voltage by quite a bit without something going wrong so long as its the same μf. Manufacturers usually put the minimum spec caps to save money. Buy japanese. I prefer [M] or Rubycon

Might as well carry around a briefcase filled with bricks. But at least it's got two 1080s and five fans that won't work right and will be loud as fuck and will clog with dust and you won't be able to take it apart to clean without voiding the warranty and it costs about twice as much as a desktop that would piss in its face.

You can earn negligibly above minimum wage as an IT support guy for a company. And that ticks all those boxes.
Malware analysis? Responding to virus alerts and sorting out a user's machine by running scans and stuff. Bit of regedit and that.
System administration. Creating some new users in Active Directory/Exchange. Updating permissions for staff. Basic server maintenance tasks.
Or malware analysis/system administration might mean something completely different and more in depth where you get paid a lot. If you're asking this question though then that suggests you don't have those skills.
An important note. An entry level role doing as I've described above is not generally enough to automatically progress to higher earnign roles. In many cases, someone in that entry level role is not exposed to higher level things and companies are not always willing to send people on courses. So it's tough to progress beyond the basics. And "career/salary progression" varies becuase of that.
