4chan's users are just not high value. the cost to advertise here is insanely low. try to imagine the quality of people on 4chan that neither have a pass (removing ads) nor use an ad blocker. these have got to be low functioning autistic kids. no advertiser wants these people as customers.

so there's just not enough money coming in from ad revenue. hiroshima could charge an annual fee from everyone, but then it would lose a lot of users. especially the cheaper, poorer, and younger ones.
