This has happened to me on three separate Arch installations and two Manjaro installations. Never on Debian.
The amount of times some tiny but system-stopping problem came is like twice a year for the past six years. It's usually on tiny, guessable command to fix it, but yeah, Everytime Linux has an update I'm extra careful
