Is Iridium really all that private? I have trouble trusting anything involving Chromium.
Iridium is German botnet
Consider ungoogled-chromium instead

With Oracle trying to reverse the federal court decision losing against Google when attempting to sue them for "infringing" copyrights of Java. Would this not be the best time to end this persistent whining and stop using Java and move to another language? Would their be anything of substantial loss other than the time and resource it will take to rebuild.
What language would they move to?
C?

Dear /g/, i need your expertise. Disclaimer: I dont know shit about fuck
I need a local storage solution for my porn. Im a chronic masturbator and i download and store about 10gb of porn everyday from various trackers. Im addicted.
So far my solution has been to buy a new bigger hard drive when the previous one gets filled, but now im running out of sata ports and space in my case. I need a more serious, permanent, and expandable local storage solution. I have no idea how those NAS things work and i dont know if it fits my purpose.
I also want some automatic backup thing, but i would rather not use some shitty software that copies everything. Is there a way for my drives to be "cloned" on other hard drives that are identical in every way? If i change something on the original drive, it immediately reflects on the backup drive?
If i lose my precious extreme anal fisting prolapse videos i'l kill myself.
Thanks guys
Get a NAS.

What's your budget?
>If i change something on the original drive, it immediately reflects on the backup drive?
RAID 1 (Insert obligatory RAID is not a backup solution warning here)

What's that supposed to mean?
shitposting from my 2011 unibody with an SSD and 16gb of ram.
still works fucking amazingly
>programming is hard
When will this meme die?
As soon as I learn to program.
isnt that a good meme? means you have less competition and better wages. i wish i could still have job simply by knowing how to use photocopier.
Programming is easy, programming courses are hard. If schools didn't rely on exams and you weren't being penalized for messing up syntax which everyone fucks up at some point then it wouldn't be hard.
So I live in a student apartment complex and they give us network drops in each room that I assume are connected to their in house modem/routers/switches which I don't have access to. Am I pretty much SOL if I try to host internet facing stuff because I can't open and close/ port forward? Is there any way around this? They have some basic ports open like https/http/ssh(filtered). Maybe I can still run openvpn over port 443???
Pic related is my network diagram.
Any advice?
buy a cheap vps and use that instead
>>57269567
That's what I'll probably end up doing but I just wanted to see if it was possible. The only internet facing service I need is openvpn really. I just want to be able to access my proxmox webui remotely.
>>57269583
Make a small windows vm and have teamviewer running, connect to that and manage
give me literally one good reason to upgrade from this processor
if you need to be convinced, it's probably a poor use of your money
>>57269396
Don't

>couldn't afford a 2600k
fucking poverty fags LOL
Why would anyone buy the surface studio when pic related already exists?
>27" QHD
>Colour accurate
>Matte display
>Physical onscreen controller actually looks useful, not just a dial
>Screen surface designed to feel like paper
>Multiple nibs to simulate different pen types
>Industry standard
>Can be used with any computer
>Pen doesn't require batteries
And it can be bought for ~£1600
Throw in a £1000 prebuilt and you've already got a more powerful setup than the highest end surface studio and without any laptop components.
>>57269266
matte displays dont have vibrant colors thats why
>>57269266
Is that a capacitive screen with multitouch capability?
>>57269758
Vibrancy doesn't matter, colour accuracy does. Anyone who does professional colour work uses matte displays.
>>57269869
On the touch model, yes.

Is 3:2 the best aspect ratio for monitors/tablets/laptops/hybrids? Are we going to see more tech using it in the future? It looks like the perfect middle ground between 16:9 and 4:3
Fags
>attempting tech discussion on /g/
LMAO
Monitors and phones it's 16:10
Laptops and tablets it's 3:2
In one fell swoop, Apple killed off the two most iconic designs about it's laptop: the glowing logo, and MagSafe.
How does it feel, /g/?
>>57268989
pretty lame IMO. at least they killed off the low res model of the MBP completely.
hopefully the new retina capable air will restore the glowing logo and bring thunderbolt 3 magsafe
>>57268989

>glowing light
oh wow who cares
>>57268989
>the glowing logo
wait what
was there a conference?
>Apple told me a month ago the headphone jack is an ancient, obsolete piece of junk that they courageously dumped
>Brand new MBP has one
I'm very confused, someone please help?
>>57268768
Don't be confused, just prepare to succ.
>>57268768
One of the reasons they removed it was because when you get to your home or office where you charge your phone, you'd use your PC to listen to music, where wires aren't as much of a problem as when you're out and about.
The space also isn't as valuable in such a large device.
Doesn't matter, people will accuse Apple of being literally Hitler wether they keep it or not
>>57268768
The backlash for removing it from the phone. The excuse of making it thinner by removing it does work here.

First for Debian:
1. Respects your freedom first and foremost.
2. Allows you to knowingly opt-in to non-free software if you want/need it.
3. Stable by default.
4. Allows you to knowingly opt-in to a rolling release, if you want/need it.
5. Decisions are made by the community instead of a single entity.
6. One of the eldest and most influential distros to this day. It has staying power.
Fedora is bad:
- Fedora mandatorily comes with proprietary firmware, despite being in support of free software
- Requires using 3rd party repositories for non-free software (outside of the firmware, obvi)
- 6 month release cycle. Requires a huge update every 6 months in order to stay up-to-date. Also making such major updates is more likely to break your system, opposed to the incremental updates of a rolling-release.

My room smell like shit so I plan to buy an air purifier. Whats the recommendation and any info I should know about the particular type of filter they use? for example if an air purifier has a washable filter would works better than the others?
Just clean up you disgusting sack of shit
or you know you can open a window or something, but dont let me stop you on wasting money
>>57268390
Clean up - 0$ and some effort
Open a Window - 0$
Buy a Yankee candle or some shit - 30$
There is no fucking need for one of these unless whatever it is that's stinking your room is literally toxic.
