Topkuk, no
Hello.
The old SQT is about to die so I decided to make my own thread instead.
I'm having trouble with some RAM I installed in my PC. I installed 64GB but my PC only shows 62.1 as usable. I don't know what to do and nothing on Google helps.
Specs are in pic related in case you need them and I will attach the task manager image as soon as I can.
>>57376049
You're using Windows 10, that's the problem. Also, why in fuck hell do you need that much RAM?
>>57376060
Streaming and video editing.
Also, is Windows 10 really the problem? My PC didn't have any hardware reserved problems with 16GB of memory.
Whats some cool tech to buy on amazon (UK), aliexpress or gearbeast - bonus points for hacking related
Why don't I see pic related endlessly shilled here more often??
>Big evil corpororation
>literal botnet
>singularity ai taking over existing infrastructure
>hipster protagonist fawning over muh manual driving and top bantz about canners
I mean come on, its practically prophetic
>>57375852
you mean that piece of shit movie or the book?
>>57375852

Alright you fuckin nerds, is UE4 the most bang-for-buck in terms of time investment if I wanna make arcade style vidya games as a personal project?
If not then which engine should I learn?
>I already know Unity and have made a few games with it.
Other possible engines I've looked into:
>Cryengine V
>Amazon Lumberyard
post experience with engine X and/or pros/cons, difficultly to learn, value of experience gained, issues experienced, etc.
UE4 is fine now fuck off.
Alternatively, check out Godot. It's yummy.
>>57375784
I've released 2 mobile games using UE4 and I can say a few things about it.
>It's not as user friendly as unity
>or as refined for mobile games
>the binaries are large
but...
>It's fucking hardcore, you really can do AAA shit with it.
>On a mobile too
>It's pretty much free and you can get games out with no restrictions for nothing but the time you invest
>You can download and modify the source code.
So pros and cons.
Blueprints are amazing too.
Is ue4 too heavy for a 2d game? If not whats the best engine for a 2d game?
what was the name of this phone app that would ask you what you're doing every time you unlocked you are phone?

Simple question, but what is the cheapest, easiest way to watch torrented movies on a flash drive on my tv? (sony bravia not smart).

I'm wondering this as well since a tonne of stuff won't play natively on the PS4 without reencoding or whatever
I have to access a Linux remotely with an interface/X11, what's the easiest and fastest method to do this from a Windows?
I'm already accessing this server through ssh but I need X11 to install some shit.
>>57375620
If I recall correctly, there is an Xserver implementation for Windows (Google it) and also a version of PuTTY (also Google it) that supports X11 forwarding. Other than that, make sure the Linux host has forwarding enabled in it's sshd_config file.

I just accepted an internship opportunity from a company and before I got off the phone with them today, they told me to get as comfortable with SQL as I could before coming in because I'm going to be using it practically everyday. What would you guys say is the best way to set up a solid SQL base before I start?
https://www.google.ca/#q=best+way+to+learn+sql
>>57375582
Install MySQL and then work your way through this:
https://dev.mysql.com/doc/sakila/en/
Did they tell you which database software you would be using? Because though all SQL is roughly the same, there are nuances unique to each.
>>57375582
here http://www.w3schools.com/sql/
also consider xampp and trying shit out in phpmyadmin. it's really easy. I work with SQL every day

I am a CS student and I want to be developing AI interfaces for devices (like siri, alexa) in 4 years. What would be a good transitional job to get industry experience, and what certifications could I get to enable me?

Get out of CS. Become an actual scientist. For real. Do biology, get a masters or phd, and get some work experience working in the field with large amounts of data about plant or animal life in an ecosystem somewhere, but always take a programming approach to creating models from the data.
I can't imagine a better way to effectively show a company that you can create predictive models from huge amounts of relatively unstructured data.
>>57375445
go on coursera and/or mit opencourseware and enroll in free courses related to that
write your own projects so you can actually get hired

If the keyboard had topre switches, the internal hardware was a lot better, and the resolution was a little higher, I'd buy it for more than 1000€.
I wish japs were still kings of tech
they always design the weirdist shit
