Simple question, but what is the cheapest, easiest way to watch torrented movies on a flash drive on my tv? (sony bravia not smart).
Are there any cheap media players I can get at walmart or anything?

old pc from ebay like a seneca thin client $10
cheap ssd $15
wireless keyboard$5
I'm wondering this as well since a tonne of stuff won't play natively on the PS4 without reencoding or whatever

get a wifi-enabled bluray player that has "smart" apps, so that you can use netflix too. they have a USB port that can read video files of any kind, even mkv. Not able to read subtitle files though.
PS, I feel that phillips makes the best one. The sony bluray players are too "smart". they have so many apps built-in that it slows the speed of the device.
here is an example of a good one. simple and does the job.

WD TV Live or similar for 50$
If it has a USB port just jam a flash drive with the movie in there, most TVs can decode x264 just fine
Pick up an android TV box from Aliexpress, ask /csg/ for specific models if you want
