So what is the best Linux Distro for Linux?

On laptops, hardware support becomes the largest factor. Some kind of ubuntu variant or openSUSE would be your best bet for something that will have decent driver support out of the box.
>>
>>57566099
I am thinking of moving towards an ubuntu variant for nvidia prime, but I realize my preferred gnome flavor of ubuntu is very buggy atm.
>>
>>57566151
Buggy on nvidia drivers? I had some update on ubuntu that made my nvidia card unusable, switched to integrated graphics on an AMD APU.

Why is Solaris so bad? Months ago, I tried it on my new PC. Today, I tried it on an old PC.
Solaris is consistently shit. Are the other System V Unix OSes any better?

what the fuck were you expecting? it hasn't been a desktop operating system for over a decade like pretty much every other SysV, it's really only useful in that role if you're interested in development/learning

I remember a cat getting trapped in my place when I was in Latvia for work. It was looking for foods and trashed my kitchen.

I would keep it but Australia doesn't allow animals on the airports.

What a stupid law.

How does /g/ verify the integrity of their backups?

Currently I'm running "hashdeep -rlc md5 * > /home/anon/Documents/hashx.txt" , and then I use diff on the two text files to see if anything is different

There is to be a quicker way though.

In all seriousness, linux was never meant to be taken serious at all.

The whole point of linux was to make a hobbyist OS that IT professionals could use to rice their desktop and post in desktop threads to get internet points.

>staff occasionally read these generals and have posted here before, though most claims of being staff are false
>staff may pretend to be normal users asking for invites and when you invite them, they ban you for inviting strangers
>sneaky bastards will try to convince you that cheating can be evaded. It can't and you will be banned and everyone will laugh at you

If you don't want to give them your number, don't do it. Nobody is forcing you to sync your mobile browser and your PC browser, but they'd be retarded not to offer the option given how standard (and popular) a feature that is.

I'm honestly starting to believe that a lot of the botnet paranoia on /g/ is just bad advice that results in forgoing useful/convenient features out of a fear of building an advertising profile.

Encrypt your private communications, be careful with email, use a good ad blocker and privacy plugin. The rest is just security theater for 90% of users. Google isn't going to kick down your door because you torrented some waifubait anime using Chrome. They're going to show you some ads for used panties and a body pillow.

Can someone here disprove the nature of infinity to me. If the universe exists in infinity than all arguments hold a superstate of being wrong and right. So we all exist while we simultaneously don't exist? If infinity is an actual concept and all atoms realign themselves to create every reality at all times what holds us back from changing the rules there-in.

I know this isn't a philosophy board but I can only hope someone here could explain where I'm wrong.
