What computer monitor makes a perfectly fine TV?
>50" or more
>4k
You know, the works.
>>57764641
A perfectly fine TV.
>>57764694
This is stupid.
I have a TV because I couldn't find a 60" Monitor... but I wish I could...
I've never once used any of the TV features, just have a Intel NUC plugged into it.
I'd much rather a big monitor that doesn't have sluggish menus, horrible input lag, and so on.
>>57764641
None.. unless your budget is like $3k
Which one should I get?

So, how reliable are SSDs nowadays?
I've always used regular hard drives and it's very obvious when they're about to fail. I can recognize the symptoms months/weeks before it happens and backup all my info. Even when it becomes unusable, I can just boot Linux from an USB and recover basically all the info.
What scares me about SSDs is when they fail, boom, you had no warning and all your info is completely gone.
I'm the kind of user that is downloading/installing/uninstalling shit all day and i don't know if SSDs can survive this kind of use and be reliable enough to be used as my laptop hard drive.
>>57764514
I've had 3 of the Crucial 250GB drives for over a year now, I've written 3TB to one of them and it's still working fine. Don't sweat it, newer drives can withstand over 700TB of writes before dying.
SSDs won't "surprise-fail" with heavy use, at least they claim that when you reach the write limit it simply becomes read-only
I've used a Samsung 840 250GBin my laptop for over 2.5 years, daily use included web browsing, developing in virtual machines, installing/uninstalling a shitton, no issues so far
do make backups like you would with a standard HDD
>>57764514
Pretty reliable, but you can't defend yourself from random failures. Most ssds are claimed to last for 2PB of rewrites but that's not a guarantee that I would rely on and would back up my shit every month or so anyways just to be safe.

Should i get a Google Pixel XL or a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge?
Which one is better?
>>57764427
Bumping this thread with my own question.
Zuk z2 pro or s7 edge? There's a 350 aud price difference and I'm not sure if it's worth it.
>>57764427
Also pixel is ugly with those bezels and you'll be stuck with on screen buttons.
V20.
The 128gb pixel xl cost over $900 after taxes. And 32gb is laughable for the modern day. But it you don't care about storage the pixel is ultimately the superior choice over the s7.

In the late 2000s there was a niche PMP that was enthusiast grade.
It wasn't Archos or Cowon, I believe they made their own chipset for it too.
Anyone have a clue what it was? I can't recall.
It was called "zune"

Hey /g/
For about 3-4 years now I've been using the CM Storm Trigger. Very reliable thing. Unfortunately, it's starting to die out slowly. I'm kind of a dummy when it comes to keyboards, so I thought I'd ask here for a recommendation.
My uses: A lot of writing. Some video games. Need something sturdy that can handle a few spills and bumps. Preferably mechanical, since they last the longest in my experience.
Thanks in advance, /g/uys
Also, the Trigger has a micro USB port to plug it in to the computer, so it's very easy to just unplug and take somewhere. That would be great for me, if there's another keyboard that does that.
>>57764316
>very reliable
>its breaking

Any Anons here who can write an entire program (with at least >100 LOC) without using google, or any reference book, just from memory?

Explain this one to me, freetards.
>needs the old installer to do a simple update
>needs the old installer to UNINSTALL, literally cannot uninstall without the installer
LibreOffice is shit, this isn't news.
>>57764030
That's pretty standard for a program on windows

I want to learn game programming.
can you guys give me a list of games, from pong to something more complex I should remake on my own?
vertical shooters like 1941
start with basic shit..
snake, pong, horizontal/vertical shooters
then move to stuff with physics like angry birds or platformers.
I don't think any of that is really helpful in modern day. everything is high level now. all the physics and timing is controlled by engines. modern game development is more like graphic design.
