I changed my case yesterday and now the fans of my gpu start start spinning at 100% (from not spinning at all) when the temp reaches around 50°c. I cant change it back with firestorm either.
I have a zotac 980 ti omega edition. No overlocks or anything. Before that I could play whatever without hearing anything from my gpu
I tried uninstalling firestorm but that didnt change anything unfortunately
Anyone know what could cause this?

This is happening December 1st!
I know some people have already posted this, but I figured more might want to see it.
Contact local senators and ask them to oppose!
>Beginning at midnight on Thursday, December 1, 2016, anyone who uses a VPN, Tor browser, or other privacy protection tools can more easily get hacked by the government.
>The FBI and other law enforcement agencies are scheduled to get expanded powers to remotely access and search computers, phones, and storage devices in cases where people suspected of being “related” to a crime use technological means to conceal their location.
What's the best defense against this?
>>57768249
Move to a free country.
>>57768249
Make it so expensive to hack you that whatever you're worth pales in comparison. Fortunately the FBI has very limited pwning skillz, as evidenced by their embarrassing handling of the Farook case.
>>57768287
Except Judge Joe Nobody from Fucktown, Alabama can now issue a warrant letting the FBI hack anyone, anywhere.
>new external hard drive arrives
>hurray
>plug it in
>notice it vibrates quite a bit
Is that normal? It's a WD Elements 1TB drive.
I have nothing to compare the lever of vibration to.
My internal WD Black seems to vibrate less (although it's mounted with the plastic dumper thingies).
I'm currently running a lengthy and boring badblocks read-write test, but I'm pretty sure vibrations just kill the drive instantaneously.
Is there anything I can do? What's the "normal" level of vibration?
You dumb fuckers never have an answer when I need to know something, all you do is babble about retarded consumer crap.
>>57767787
>WD Elements
:/
>>57767787
> hard drive
> it vibrates
It will break someday, that's for sure.

>unorganized desktop
>running out of room
>make icons smaller so i can fit more shit
Probably a stupid question but can desktop icons go out of bounds if there's too many? Too afraid to try.
>>57767675
yeah they can
>>57767675
yeah they'll still technically be there. you just can't see them unless you either rearrange the icons or view your desktop directory in a file viewer
How much have you donated to Wikipedia today? They fixed the issue where the big banner was not visible to everyone because it was at the top of the page, so they fit it in the article now.
None. I already have all the english articles dumped to my home server, it can go down for all I care.

How will you get new articles in 10 years?
So what exactly is the difference between a volume and a partition? Aren't they technically the same thing no?
volume = any kind of formatted space
partition = a logical segment of a disk
in a common one partition/one volume scenario, the partition encompasses the majority of the disk (excluding the partition table itself), and the volume is placed in/on the partition
for an example, lets say you make a 64G partition, and format it to ntfs
now you have a 64G partition, containing a 64G, ntfs-formatted volume
>>57767680
So volumes sit on partitions? Kind of 2 levels to it? I think I understand now, thank you bro
>>57767706
yea
maybe pic related will make it clearer
Why haven't you fixed that noisy fan?

Holy shit it's like in slow mo
I'm high right now bro don't do this to me.
Cleaning up my hard drive and bumping some gee stuff I saved for no reason before I delete it
Forced to venture into Starbucks I knew my addiction to caffine had its cost.
My regular haunt was closed this early in the morning but an all night lan session had finally come to an end.
It took 6 minutes of negotiation with the mindless server to find something resembling a simple black coffee with 4 sugars but I triumphed and sat my weary frame down with my back to the wall and an alert eye on the entrance.
Too block out the numbing drone of the sheep around me my laptop was already out and booting up when I saw her.
She entered the store, struggling with the heavy door which did its best to shove her small frame back outside. Her thin ankles bent and twisted as her impractical high heeled shoes offered an illusion of stability, a small eek escaped her mouth as she finally won and slipped inside.
I checked myself suddenly aware of base emotions striving to take precidence of my long practiced logical thoughts. "No!", I declared internally, "Such thoughts are for sheeple, I am free, I am in control."
With a few practiced keystrokes I was back in the real world and connected to /g/. Alert for the intell shills and script kiddie threads I gazed over the catalogue.
"H-hello"
My eyes shot up while the corners of my mouth pulled down, it was her. Dark haired, pale skin with wide blue eyes. With an unwelcome scrape she pulled a chair out and sat down.
"I couldn't help but notice...why is your Chrome logo blue?"
>>57767289
My mouth pulled down further, disappearing into my beard, "It's not chrome, it's cromium."
"C-chromium?", her naturally red lips queried, "That sounds the same as chrome."
I sighed and pulled off my glasses to wipe them on my shirt. Once back on my face the fresh smears of oil and dorito dust helped obscure her youthful, almost preteen features. I would not be fodder for this manipulative creature.
"NO IT ISN'T!", I calmly told her, "Chromium allows me to be free from the botnet."
She wrinkled her delicate brow with the confused look of a woman trying to think, "You want to be free?"
I sneered, my nostrils widening and flaring their hairs, "Of course, any rational man would."
My fingers tapped my keyboard sending a loud mechanical click throughout the room. My browser minimized to show a custom gnome desktop with a simple waifu homescreen.
"Combined with a GNU/Linux OS I am free. This computer, this link to the outside world is under my control.
>>57767301
"
Through the reflection of my laptops screen I could clearly see her eyes widen at the idea, her pupils wide.
She breathed more than spoke, "You want c-control?"
"Ha!, to want control is mans natural state. To be controlled by the state is the weak mans desire." I gazed a thousand yards over her shoulder, "I am my own master, the things I own are controlled by me."
She looked at me biting lightly on her lower lip, "You l-like to be the master?"
I leaned back and raised an eyebrow, feeling to brush against the innerband of my fedora, "Who in their right mind would want to be a slave?"
With a mind jumbled by confusion and conflicting ideas the small girl shifted slightly but enough for my expert ears to detect, a soft wet noise of fabric lifting off her seat with a rich bass timbre one only gets from a valve driven amplifier.
"It's a-all I know", she confessed.
I slammed my laptops screen down putting it into a custom scripted powerdown and hibernation. Sliding it into my courier bag as I rose I looked down on her and said, "And that's why I will always despise you."
