I'm just gonna assume that this is the board i should post this on.
I wanna watch some vids on youtube but some of them have copyright blocks, it says "not available in your country".I can change my IP easily, i just need a country where it can't reach.
It depends on the video. Just try a few different countries, lazy bones.

You should try some small islands like pic related.

News:
- Shitty env vars and unused ports cruft contained under the build user. Who compiles things from source in 2016 anyway?
- vmd works great, but only if you bought Intel
- No need to alias doas to sudo on BSD; easier to alias sudo to doas on Linux
is this the new bsd thread?
What *BSD has application layer firewall so I can block a specific application from accessing the internet.
I want to block virtualbox, geany etc. Is it possible?
I want to buy a cheap smartphone for me mum.
It doesn't need to have good specs, just a good battery and easy to use.
Iphone 4s

I'd buy it instantly btw
What are some factors that would make a computer play games and perform at an overall lower rate than it used to? I get that it's not a great rig, I get that it's AMD. But that doesn't change the fact that it USED to run games at 60 fps, and now it has dips in games I used to get steady frames in.
>>57755769
Might be some shit running in the background. Try reinstalling your OS and newest drivers.
>>57755824
alright thanks man i'll give that a try, would upgrading to win10 help you think?
>>57755839
If you want to try win10, do a clean install. The automatic upgrade thing brings all of your old shit over, so if your current install has aids, the win10 upgrade probably will too.
Was this the pinnacle of desktop PC design?

Non-native english speaker here, is it pronounced "Adob" or "Adob-E"?
The second one. Adob-e /thread
a-doub-e
>>57755460
I said Adob for years and I still use this pronunciation because it's an habit, but Adob-E is the correct one
Hi, I don't have much money to spend but would like to buy a 7-10" tablet that will last me a few years.
Is this a decent choice? It's £180 / $220:

Let's get a discussion going about something other than:
>Old tech is superior to new tech.
>If you use anything other than linux, you are a prisoner.
>Give me your million dollar tech ideas /g/
>Look at my new dual monitor setup and see-through case. Also, look at my new socks.
>My new Xiaomi battery pack blew up and killed my whole family!
>>57755378
then how about how to be safe from anyone, on the internet?
>>57755626
Turn off your computer.
>>57755378
What else is there, OP?
Why don't you actually start a discussion.
How many of you guys are professional IT technicians, not the one who does it for FREE?
I would like to ask you few questions and maybe get advice about your job.
How much do you get paid?
How long did it take you to find a job? IT related of course
What's your typical job day, aside makiposting here?
In what environment are you working in? in an office/at wallmart/at your local PC store or did you start your own start-up?
Do you move a lot, depending your precedent answer?
How do you stay up-to-date tech knowledge wise, from your own free will by shitposting here and maybe learning new products releases or shitty seminars forced by your boss?
And lastly, where are you from?
I'm just trying to get into that field here in Europe.
Data Center engineer/technical specialist here. Based out of one of the largest DC in North America.
I make a little over 100k I am IBM big data certified, PMP, bullshit desktop support certs that haven't lapsed yet and a few network/VMcerts.
Started when I was 16 at a small office. I'm 26 now no college.
No day is typical for example tonight I am doing a massive MDS/Sans migration.
I work 60% in an office 40% in data center.
I moved a lot to get into this job. I live in North America
I used to be one of those people, although I'm NEET again now. I was paid £25,000 per year in my first job, but that was too much and I can't find another job that pays even close to that. I live in England (Manchester), and I got myself a CompTIA A+ which proved I was serious about learning the actual shit, so they hired me and promised to train me to do the rest. They got rid of me, obviously (for reasons that were not my fault!), and I've been fucked since then.
I would repair computers, replace hard drives, reinstall Windows, and basically provide internal 1st line support (which is where you should start if you're entering IT with nothing like I was).
>>57755425
>Started when I was 16 at a small office. I'm 26 now no college.
Well I'm impressed, it's rare nowadays to find a person who made himself this young.
Thank you to answering me.
>>57755515
>which is where you should start if you're entering IT with nothing like I was
Yep, I'm currently going in a school/traineeship to get an official certificate or diploma in that field.
Here in France, they mostly hire you from these diploma, unless a family member help you to get in.
But how come the job market is fucked? it should be highly asked since everyone has a smartphone and pc nowadays.
Is there a way to start/boot by touching the keyboard or mouse in windows 10?
Or does it only work while in sleep mode?
>>57755310
Nah.
You could accomplish a remote on button pretty easily though.
If you are /MKG/ you might be able to place a dedicated button inside the keyboard, wouldnt be worth it though.
ait ty, guess i just have to start using sleep mode
>>57755310
>Is there a way to start/boot by touching the keyboard or mouse in windows 10?
Of course, but it only works with as PS/2 mouse/keyboard
Do you guys have any suggestions for 1080p monitors?

Someone gave me their shitbucket PC to take a look at and look what I found under the heatsink.
What madman would do such a thing? Is this some kind of relic of early 2000's tech support retardation?
>Third world computer technicians
There's your answer
it wouldn't significantly effect performance if there was thermal compound on it.
You can use toothpaste as thermal paste and it only effects temps by like 2c.
>>57755032
Usually its the case sticker that they put on the cpu.
