Never made a PC before, would you guys rate my parts list?
Can someone also explain what CL(x) means, in regards to RAM, and does it make an impact on performance at all, or is it just something that isn't really relevant at all to me as a consumer.
Case: Corsair Spec-Alpha
CPU: I5-6600K
GPU: Asus GTX 1070
MB: Asus Z170-A
Memory: 16GB of someone's ram
HDD: Toshiba 3TB
SDD: Samsung 950 Pro 512GB
I think I'm just shooting for 1440p, but I suppose 4k will be nice at medium to high settings
Any recommendations?

CAS latency. Don't worry too much, just buy JEDEC standard modules.
>>57795800
So it wont affect the build then, good.
What should be a good speed to aim for as far as that goes? everything is OCable, though I don't plan to do too much of it.

Is Trump or his team aware of the huge internet propaganda effort on his behalf or are they orchestrating it? it seems everywhere I turn I run into more and more nationalist propaganda, Trump even quotes the nonsense sometimes. My Facebook news feed is filled click bait articles.

Facebook tracks what you like/share and what the people on your list like/share so if you are seeing a bunch of this stuff then it's your own fault.
Welcome to the botnet.
>>57795557
Keep in mind that anything you see on facebook is more than likely specifically tailored for you. They might be pulling another one of those social experiments; this time they flood you with nationalist propaganda to see if you get triggered enough to go on 4chan and make a thread about it.

Are graphics drivers the biggests frauds of todays world? I mean, I get what they do but they have some very fishy tendencies.
Example: You can play your favorite video game for like 6 months and then all of a sudden, it doesnt work. And you need to update your drivers. Why dont consoles need to have their drivers updated? Super old console shit still works today.
You cant fucking explain it
You better hoe to christ this isn't a modified picture of ninja other your gonna be eating your teeth asshole
>>57795463
u wot
>>57795426
>suddenly it doesn't work
If it asks you to update drivers either the game got updated or it's simply a suggestion to make an update. If it's forcing you to update then it's either a shit game developer or you're being cucked by Nvidia/AMD.

How feasible is it to get a tech job, be it programming or whatever, that is less than 40 hours a week but pays enough to get by?
I don't mind living on a paycheck by paycheck basis if it means I have my freetime. I love programming and I don't want it to be ruined by a job. I want to keep having freetime and plenty of time to pursue other stuff.
Pic related too, I don't want to lose my ability to stay up into the wee hours of the morning doing fun projects. It literally makes my heart sink every single time I think of a future like that. There must be something I can do.
>>57795231
bump. really tearing me up
>>57795231
pretty much nothing part time pays enough to live on. All the jobs, tech and otherwise, that do pay enough for that want you to be full time. Or, commonly, more than full time. (the reason most tech workers are salaried instead of hourly is because they want more than 40 hours a week out of you)
You can freelance but that's pretty much full-time by another name. You're your own boss but generally if you don't put in full-time level hours you don't bring in enough money, unless you're some real hot shit indeed.

hm, I took /g/ users as more like a slightly chubby jaded nerd that spends most of his time in his room configuring whatever distro he has on whatever thinkpad hes got.
But not a faggot. I guess all the faggots lie in those circlejerk desktop threads or whatever. They're the ones that would be interested in this childish bullshit

Brother gave me a samsung tv that won't turn on. I want to fix it myself cause I'm cheap. Googled it and I have two options. Find a replacement circuit board (which I can't find), or replace the broken capacitors on the board. Gonna take the board in to my work tomorrow and check to see if any of the capacitors are actually broken.
Does anyone have any experience in this? Anyone done this before? Or can anyone help me out finding this board?
I'll try to post anything that can help.
Here's the overall tv info
Some more info that was on the board. Should have mentioned that the red light flashes on the tv, but the tv never turns on. Google said something about the capacitors are blown and thats why it wont turn on

I have tried pretty much every DE, and have been a Gnome user for years, but FUCk does KDE look good if you actually take the time to configure it.
>>57794985
everything does when you take the time jew
>>57794985
you can make any DE look nice if you customize it.
I was thinking of switching to openbox though, since gnome 3 has some customization limitations.
