I understand competition is good and we need cucks to purchase AMD products to occasionally whip Nvidia into shape, but please tell me no one here actually purchases AMD shit? You wouldn't actually support this fucking abomination financially and publicly... would you?
>>59083198
My desktop is running a quad-core amd cpu and Im fine with it because I dont waste my life playing video-games. Id rather shitpost on /g/.
Most people promoting these consumerist threads are likely not going to do anything productive with a fancy Intel cpu either. So fuck off OP.
>>59083198
Brand loyalty huh. I usually go with Intel, but every once in awhile AMD stages a comeback and offers something competitive, and I'll usually jump over.

I got a new work monitor.Samsung E590D
> 4k - gonna need the real estate for work
> 10 bpc - not needed but big plus
> 1ms / 60hz
Everything is ok so far but
> TN
Coming from an dell S2415h IPS, now I am convinced that TN is so much shittier. I hate it, i hate it so much.
I should have chose another dell, 1440p IPS instead of this samshit.
>>59083096
There is no perfect monitor, either they get close to it and fuck it up by releasing only a curved variant or they use shitty panels:
>tfw no 4k Freesync IPS 10bit with HDR
>>59084851
this, but also
>no 16:10
3840x2400 is the shit
>60Hz

BM800 Thread. Other Chinkmics welcome too.
Share your experiences, hacks and buying tips about the bm800 here.
I've got mine from a friend who wanted to hack it but failed.
Seemed like an obvious fake. The housing was plastic (instead of zinc) and it sounded like shit. It finally stopped working when I fed it phantom power for the first time.
Anyway, I know how great they can sound (especially with mods) and that there are real ones out there for about 15 - 20$ or 20 -25$ with a scissor arm.
Looking forward to buy one, if I can be sure not to get another fake.
(Not related, but this is the first time I have the courage to post on /g/, s-so please be gentle s-senpai!)

Come on, it's ok for every LE-RYZEN faggot to have his own thread, but not ONE for the discussion of a specific brand of condenser microphones.
This isn't fair!

How much would something like this even cost? Doesn't seem to be worth it tbqh.
Can any of you wizards help me debug KDE?
I'm on Arch a ThinkPad P50 with Quadro GPU, 4k screen 2k second screen. If I wake from sleep with the second screen plugged in it works, but is at the wrong res and position. If I change any display settings or plug it in after boot both screens flash and show "Changing layout" until I unplug it, then a KWin crash report pops up. I'm using nvidia and nvidia-libgl, which worked on Ubuntu Unity but I hate Unity.
I'm basically working my way through ever DE trying to find one with good HiDpi support and so far only unity has worked. i3 was far more broken than KDE and I gave up on it pretty quick. Unity was laggy as all hell and also Unity.

In OP's scenario you don't have to actually deal with CP.

Picked up a 1070 Strix OC.
Is it safe to leave those plastic caps on the connectors on the board? Like the SLI tabs.

Anyone here into machine learning?
Anyone got any good links, I've found this repo full of frameworks
https://github.com/josephmisiti/awesome-machine-learning
But I'm looking to understand the underlying structure and how machine learning itself works, not use a framework because I have no real practical purpose rn just trying to learn.
Can anyone recommend some books or papers on how to start with machine learning from scratch (preferably in C, C++ or Python)
pic related,
also /malg/ machine learning general I guess
>>59080246
Study up on Linear Algebra, Calculus, and Matrix Theory again anon it's the only way you're gonna understanding what goes on under the hood.
https://medium.com/@ageitgey/machine-learning-is-fun-part-2-a26a10b68df3
you might be able to make a naive framework that implements the underlying algorithms, but tbqfh you only really want to do that to learn how it works.
There are so many optimizations and weird heuristics the more popular frameworks use that developing frameworks is a full time job with no time for actually using the frameworks leftover.
Did you get the new humble bundle yet?

I'd consider it if it had some PIC books

from 12gb to 16gb ram on my laptop with an i7-4710hq feels goodman.
last night
Hello /g/ I need some advice
I have the following system that I put together in 2011
i7 2600k @4.4GHz
Evo 212 cooler master
Z77 Sabertooth MOBO
EVGA GTX 1070 8gb SC
126gb SSD by MtCrucial (os only)
2TB Hitachi HDD @7200rpm
Ares 16GB 1600Mhz RAM
Corsair AX850 PSU gold+
I was wondering what would be something I can upgrade to get some performance boost.
I was thinking that the 2600k could be Upped to a 3770k but would it even make a noticeable difference? would buying used CPU like that even be worth it?
Thanks senpai.
>>59089057
you'd be better off investing into multicore cpus as they will start to shine in the coming years
buying a 3770k wont really do much
Ryzen

Newfags...
Who /Hackintosh/ here? Been running ElCap for a long time now but I was using the legacy BIOS boot which fucked a bunch of stuff up.
So I bought a BCM94630 for WiFi and Bluetooth for continuity features between my iPhone, wiped my drives, flashed my UEFI to fix a few Hackintosh bugs, installed Sierra with proper UEFI boot and SMBIOS/NVRAM values and god it feels good to have a 100% functioning build.
Sleep, Handoff, iMessages, Apple Watch unlocking all work 100%. Fuck this is incredible.
I was actually thinking of wiping linux and doing a hackintosh. I already have a macbook. Is it easy?
>>59087994
depends on the hardware of your machine
if its a macbook the answer is yes its easy and you should kys for asking it
>>59087811
im planning on doing a hackingtosh too cause win10 sucks dick and macOS Sierra is superior in every aspect
my hardware is compatible .. im just too lazy to do it
