>You’ll find it amusing to know that Linus finds Debian difficult to install. Yes, this happened during an interview in 2007 and here’s what he had to say about the same a few years later:

>I’m sorry, you may want to close your ears now, I want a distribution to be easy to install, so that I can just get on with my life, which is mostly kernel.

>Linus calls Debian a ”pointless exercise” as the point of a distribution is to make things simple and easy to install.

No it didn't. I run triple head and one of my monitor's gave up the ghost yesterday. Even with a hardware failure it took about three minutes to formulate a new xrandr command, stick it in my xinitrc and restart x. This "X breaks all the time on Arch" thing is total crap.

Everybody who supports any distro besides Solus is a *shill.* Reminder to report all non-Solus posts in this thread in order to keep the anti-Solus shills out. We never shill here, we just state facts.

I tried solus and it was shit. Buggie as fuck Kodi, no clementine, no xfce available, half my linux steam games didn't work, what a joke OS. Shit tier package manager, slowest linux boot I've ever witnessed, complete unoptimized mess. Everything about it feels like a gimped alpha version of yet another ubuntu wannabe, except without the choice ubuntu gives you.
>>
>>59603620
How long ago did you try it? I don't use Kodi so I can't vouch for that, but it is most likely fixed. Clementine is based on a deprecated Qt4, but will be added when the Clementine devs update it to Qt5, which they say will happen in April. And the devs don't see it as a good use of time to bring XFCE, a de that hasn't been updated since 2015, but they are open to the community to port it themselves. And I myself have never had an issue with my Linux Steam games, and in fact they run better on Solus than any other distro. It is not a joke OS. It is also not a shit tier package manager, it is one of the best, and Sol will be *the* best. It's also the fastest boot times so don't lie about that. And it's the most optimized distro ever so why lie on that too when anyone who has actually used it instead of making up a reply to slander solus would know. It is also not a gimped alpha version of "yet another ubuntu wannabe", and it has plenty of choices.

Looks like CCX latency may not be as much of an issue as originally thought, at least for games. Memory bandwidth is the real bottleneck here.

this doesn't even take into consideration that the infinity fabric latency is linearly related to memory latency. The infinity fabric is always clocked at exactly half of the memory frequency, so once memory speeds can actually hit high marks, the inter core latency will also decrease drastically making the CCX argument fairly null.
>>
The additional cache is actually advantageous for productivity reasons. Cache increases the effective memory bandwidth, I don't know if the effect is enough to offset the loss in inter-CCX communications though.

PIII is pretty damn fucking stable last time I checked.

Because 98% of tech consumers really don't care about it or will pretend to care and buy it anyway, and companies can make money out of exploiting the user's privacy. Why would the free market adapt to the free people who care when they can make more money.
You apply your standards of privacy ethics to all consumers as if the free market is going to adjust to the delusion of yours that your needs and demands are the most important

Hi!
I bought my first Android smartphone three days ago. I'm not a fanboy nor I want to be it and in fact I honestly thought that during these years the system were essentially the same.
Sadly I found that , despite maybe a better hardware and nominal technical specs, the experience in using an iPhone is something I hardly miss! I used to do anything with my right thumb, with the same gestures for every app, now I'm in constant struggle because I have to use my left finger and overall the fluidity and the consistency in every part of the OS is something I don't find on my new Android phone. Maybe I was unlucky and I bought the wrong Android based phone but that's it. I's like to sell this one and buy an iPhone SE. What do you guys think?

I'm not sure whether I believe this, and I've yet to see another reviewer produce similar results, but if there's any truth to this video I'm seriously considering buying a Ryzen system. I was pretty hesitant after hearing of its poor gaming performance at launch in comparison to the 7700k, but this certainly changes things. Is faster ram really the silver bullet for Ryzen gaming performance?

Looks like regardless of the memory used it's still a smoother experience overall
>>
>>59603063
A lot of games are memory bound if you remove the GPU bottleneck, so giving a 7700k faster memory will increase FPS there too. Gaming benchmarks are worthless for comparing CPU performance.
