Stupid questions thread. Go.
I can't connect to my server running mpd using MPDroid. These are the iptables rules I have:iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 8000 -m conntrack --ctstate NEW,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT
iptables -A OUTPUT -p tcp --sport 8000 -m conntrack --ctstate ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT
iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 6600 -m conntrack --ctstate NEW,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT
iptables -A OUTPUT -p tcp --sport 6600 -m conntrack --ctstate ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT
Using telnet I get the following:
On port 6600 I get connection refused.
On port 8000 I am connected before the connection is abruptly closed by foreign host.
What am I missing?
Using PCLinuxOS in a VM with MATE/marco desktop. I wanna change the background image on the login screen to something that DOESN'T burn my retinas, but Google has failed me.
Any /g/men here have info/ideas on how to do this?
Added a second SSD to my laptop. Battery life cut in half. How can I fix this problem short of removing the new SSD?
I've installed powertop but I don't know what to do with it and if that would even help things
Are there still any IT jobs or fields where I don't have to work with incompetent women and minorities? Or has everything been infiltrated at this point?
>>60137095
just work remotely like a sys(ssy) admin and be indie webdev/appdev or some SAP/botnet/java shit
not IT related but I went to Wendy's the other day to get a chicken sandwich and there was about 8-10 people working there. Really busy. I'm not joking - all of them were women. I even looked twice to make sure. All women.
Um...what the fuck is going guys?
>>60137173
there were still not enough women working, the reason for feminism (created by rich men) was to get women to work, increase the workforce, increase spending, improve eceonomies
its working

What's the best Wifi AP/Router that can buy used?
I need at least two antennas and hopefully dd-wrt support. Also, hopefully has support for 802.11 ac.
>unrelated girl
Just get something from Mikrotik if you need a switch/router/AP combo.
Get an Asus RT series and install Merlin firmware. I have the AC-68U and love it

What do you guys think about the Chronos 1.4?
Gamechanger or another kickstarter scam?
I was pretty excited about them until they changed the price from $2500 to $3000, and looking at their website the price is actually $4000 if you want the one with not-shit memory and a lens.
I don't know a god damn thing about high speed cameras so I thought I'd ask.
/p/
>>60136689
>video cameras belong on a static image board
???
>>60136655
Isn't any more than a decent video camera anyway, if it does what it claims it would be pretty damn fun...
I need a good anti-virus program for my machine. I've gotten pissed at AVG, is there a better option?
panda anti virus is good i heard
>>60136643
Have you tried common sense? I use it myself and it's crazy good.
Win Defender + NoScript + uBlock
So, I bought me 32GB of 2400MHz RAM...
XMP should be 11-13-13-31 @ 1.65v, but I can't get it to boot at any frequency above 1866MHz.
CPU: i7 3770
Mobo: ASUS P8Z77-V LK
A friend recommended I slowly bump up my CPU voltage until I can boot it at 2400, but I've also read that you can increase the voltage of the memory controller as well? Wat do?
I have an OP Coolermaster CPU heatsink, so I'm not exactly concerned about blowing my shit up by bumping my CPU up a few hundred MHz.
Don't fucking overclock your ram idiot
>>60136799
I'll overclock your dad
>>60136607
Have a look at the Asus QVL list. The timings for their recommended 2400mhz are a bit different (11-13-13-35) and they don't have it in 32gb. I wouldn't be surprised if this older board can't handle 4 dimms at that timing.
My main OS is W10.
But hear me out. I'm not a standard windows user. Let me share with you how I use the best concept from all the three worlds (Linux, Windows & OSX). OSX have good design and Linux have good solutions.
Font-rendering:
Definitely OSX. I use mactype.
Cursor-theme:
Also OSX. I prefer El-capitan, but yosemite cursors are good too. I get them from deviantart. OSX makes cool cursors.
Altdrag & alt-resize (linux):
I use KDE variant for AHK. Best one I've ever used, and I have used really many linux distros.
Folder (Windows):
QTTabBar, makes the file-manager better.
Single-click to open an item. (dolphin).
Navigation-bar (Windows):
I set icons in the link-bar. Takes much less space than a "dock", and looks better in my opinion. I have it on top, because it will be closer to my tabs when I'm on my web-browser. Makes sense because I use keybindings frequently and need to look at both places.
Applauncher (linux):
Launchy.
Imageviewer (windows):
Honeyview. Like feh, just a little bit more user-friendly.
The main reason I don't use Linux/GNU is because of AHK. I need my global keybindings no matter what.
you're a faggot
nice blog m8
Glad you found something you like, but why are you telling us this, and more importantly, why is your resolution so shitty, and why is the aspect ratio a square?
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/SpeechRecognition
.... the fuck?
what do you think the problem is here? what is the discussion you want to have?
your post is effectively worthless, which I'm sure you're used to being. kys
>>60136737
Read the link maybe?

You probably shouldn't be storing them on consumer "cloud storage" services like OneDrive, Dropbox, or Google Drive.
