I use my mice very frequently. I have gone through several mice and time and time again they look gross after a year of use: rubber fades away, shit gets everywhere, etc. I want a good mouse but I want this mouse to be metal so that it does not wear away. Suggestions?

The G502 is the fucking worst for this. It's a decent mouse but all its nooks and crannies get filled with shit after a year.

I can only handle ultra-wide displays if they're curved, otherwise they feel too bulky.

I used one for a few months and thought I could go back because it wasn't that different. Boy was I wrong. Going from 21:9 to 16:9 feels the same as going from 16:9 to 4:3. That said like 30% of that is having a bigger monitor on its own. Big monitors are just nicer.
It also won't replace a second monitor. There's something about the utility of having another separate screen available that you can't replicate with an ultrawide.
Don't forget to get a nice window manager!
It's hard to quantify but once you use it you can't go back, it's very comfy.

This is the fourth time in a month that my internet has miraculously went down regardless of how steady its been for the past 6-7 years. Verizon assures me its my router but every time I call they fix it remotely immediately. Are they attempting to Jew me into getting a new router and are they throttling me?

i have noticed on the Vive and Rift VR controllers, they both have this kind of loop or ring, do they serve a purpose or are they just to make it look futuristic and cool.

they're covered in tracking points, they need to make that shape so the cameras/laser emitters can see enough of them at once to track properly. If they didn't go in a ring like that your hand would cover them all up.
Theoretically the shape isn't the key, it's just the fact that it's hard to cover all the points at once that's important.

I want to make my own internet.
Well, maybe not technically an internet, but a server for content to be delivered through a browser to anyone who has a wifi connection and a password, like ebooks and instructional videos and shit, for if there is no internet, or for use in the inevitable impending zombie apocalypse. I'll be using a raspberry pi to achieve this.
I probably just don't know what to google, but I couldn't find what I'm looking for. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

At my university the intro classes are either in java or python. The second semester class is in Java. Data Structures is in Java. I think a few upper level classes beyond that focus in Java.
Of course they teach courses in C and ASM for systems, but why is everything in Java?
I understand they're teaching OOP, but it seems like a Java overload.
One of my professors told me Data Structures wasn't a programming class... yet when I looked at the actual course it's all Java programming assignments.
