Feel free to tell me to fuck off, but I don't know many people who can help me with this.
My internet is everything but stable - let alone reliable.
>If trying to torrent, speeds will go up and down like this: 150Kb/s, 490Kb/s, 930Kb/s, 1.8MB/s, 640Kb/s, 230Kb/s, nil. Stops there for like 20 seconds. Repeat.
I know it could be easy to assume it's the torrent I am downloading, or the client, or the ports... but then I close everything, go on my browser, and the same happens.
>Click on Youtube, the thing is spinning as if loading and stays like that for ages. Nothing. Click refresh. Nothing. Try again, et voila, it loads really fast. Switching the wifi off and back on will also do the trick.
This happens when another girl living in the house is in, but she's not savvy enough to be doing anything. I mean, she once unplugged the xbox in the living (which was switched off) thinking that was why the TV signal was poor...

Both you fucking autistic fuck.
I love Rust because it is fast, secure and most importantly it has no garbage collector. Using such technology seems unnecessary because most of the time is spent on network transfer and database lookup. Furthermore the state of frameworks is not stable and keeps changing. Rocket for example is rather new and seem to be maintained by on single benevolent dictator and requires nightly so it won't work by using the package manager on most servers such as debian stable and ubuntu lts. Iron and Nickel seem to be unmaintained. So developing web apps for Rust seems like chasing a metamorphic rabbit. Advices?
>>60777563
Until it is standardized, Rust will always be a meme.
>>60777563
C++14 is also fast and it will get you a job

Do I get segfaults and exploits on my web apps?
Daily reminder that Macs:
>have no system-wide package manager
The App Store isn't a package manager, it can't even remove apps installed through it (it can post on facebook though, since that's what macs are good for). Macfags then mention brew and macports like this was somehow an alternative to a proper package manager, yet these things can't install, remove or update system software. For example, try and make brew update the kernel or Aqua. And of course they leave out all the links and conflicts that brew has with XCode.
Meanwhile, Linux can install everything through package managers flawlessly, and you can update every single package with a single command. This is impossible on macOS.
>have little to no customizability
Macfags have a tendency to insult anyone who is able to do any sort of customizing, like changing the DE fonts or window colors, simply because they can't. If they could, it would be a good thing.
>require giving out your personal information, like your home address, to install free software
Even if you want something with no price, you need to fill out your billing information.
On Linux you can install whatever you want without giving out any information.
>require complete clusterfucks to do simple actions
For example, toggling hidden file visibility. On macOS you need to run:
$ defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles true
$ killall Finder
Let that sink in: you need to use the terminal and run 2 commands, one of which is osbcure, the other kills the shell process, just to toggle hidden file visibility. And of course you need to run the same clusterfuck just to toggle it again.
On any Gnome/KDE/Unity distro: open the file explorer, click settings, click Show Hidden Files
>Are unable to disable devices at UEFI level
The mac UEFI has no functionality, unlike every other brand on the planet that lets you do things like adjusting CPU frequency or voltage, disabling devices. Again, macfags pretend like having features is a band thing.
daily reminder than i enjoy using my macbook pro, theyre very nice
thanks
>>60777555
Get rekt macfags!!1
nobody cares about this OP

why are iphone apps so fucking bloated?
>>60777339
that includes cache and all the data. why don't you clean it, retard?
>>60777363
the only way to clean it is to literally delete the app and reinstall it. apple doesnt offer a cache/temp cleaner in the OS. bravo apple.
Because the ppl who use poople dont care about storage and have enuf money to buy phkne with higher storage

Since mega disabled downloading files more than 5GB in size what is the best option for cloud backup storage now?
Cheap drive businesses account, amazon drive
Ask the uploader to split the files.
I doubt there's a better free "cloud" service than MEGA.
You can always use the torrents tho.
>>60777332
Split the files, dummy. Should do this regardless of file size limits, unless you have a 1Gb connection or something.
Post your favorite dumb phones of that era.
Nokia was the king back then.

>you want 15 inch computer?

Will Apple have the courage to discontinue the touch bar at next refresh? If this really were something professionals wanted, they would have included it on their new $4999 iMac pro
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2lfZg-apSA
>>60776905
The touchbar was a big mistake on Apple's part. Why not just give the MacBook a touch display? That would've been much easier for everyone.
>>60776905
what do you exactly use, your function keys for, if I may ask ?
>>60777006
Cuck.
GoPro alternatives? Or is GoPro really worth the money?
If you want that type of camera just get a GoPro.
There have a million accessories, a good reputation, and have proven themselves to work for their intended purpose.
>>60776844
I haven't owned one myself but everything I recorded with one (hero 3 I think), looked beautiful. So depends on what you want. If you want to shoot videos and have control about how the picture looks, get a dslr, if you want to point and shoot or actually do actionvideos, a GoPro is a good fit. Don't know about alternatives though sadly

Now that MP3 has been retired by its maintainers, the attention has been moved to AAC. The last generation was 'MP3 vs Vorbis', this generation is 'AAC vs Opus'.
Who will come out on top this time?
>>60776577
MP3, public domain is even more incentive to keep using it.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opus_(audio_format)
Opus already beat the pants off AAC
Why was mp3 more widespread than aac in first place?

>text editors still can't open a text file with a size of 100 MB without hours of loadind and freezing
>>60776402
You have bigger problems then the text editor if you are regularly working with 100 MB text files
either way I think this is more of a b8 post then you having any interest in discussing text editors so sage
