I got a 1700X instead of intel because the intel options I had at that price was quite underwhelming. Furthermore AMD is helping technologies progress while intel is hijacking cores, threads and PCIE-lanes from the customers for money.
Now their response to threadripper is a bunch of neutered Xeons? Wtf! And what's up with the RFID tag and CPU not being soldered?
Why would anyone shill intel at this point?
>>60770063
>Is Intel dying?
No, but they're getting a lot of bad press and might lose some marketshare in the immediate future.
>Why would anyone shill intel at this point?
Muh gaymes at 1080p 144hz with a 1080ti.
>buying into the Intel market scheme
almost everything you have ever heard about Intel products being better. CPUs, chipsets, SSDs, etc is BS you have soaked up from marketers.
Except Intel HW NICs, never had an issue with them.
Wait
Wtf if the rfid chip doing?
Free parts. Should I take em? Maybe I can make a very cheap build.
More parts
is there ANY smart watch out there that fits these basic requirements?
>Lasts 5-7 days on a single charge
>Is (at least) water resistant
>Allows for basic control over your phone such as changing volume, turning wifi on and off, etc.
>Isn't fitness focused
>Costs less than $200
Does this even exist? Why did the Pebble get this right so many years ago?
The first requirement is the only one that is revelant because there are so many that do the others
Pebble does all that, I have a Pebble SE (the second gen one with no heart rate monitor). However them being bought out and basically thrown in the trash by Fitbit for their patents/software makes any Pebble a dubious purchase at this point.
>>60769872
exactly. my pebble is on it's way out after many years of daily use and i need a replacement soon.
>2nd outage in a week
What do you reckon went wrong this time?
Reminder that unless you are a FOSS hipster you should've moved away from Github.

If I have a shit internet connection (25mbps down) what would be the best way to back up 20TB of data?
>>60769663
hard drives. And why are you saying something retarded like what your downstream speed is when you imply you were thinking about cloud backups with your pic.
>>60769754
>hard drives
Yeah, I know that.
I want the best method to get all of that data onto the backup drives.
Should I build another server? Should I use a hard drive dock and rsync to each one?
>imply you were thinking about cloud backups with your pic
pic isn't completely related.
Someone on twitter uploaded their entire porn collection to Amazon drive. It costs Amazon something like 50 thousand a month to maintain his porn collection
>>60769810
holy shit, we have 8TB hard drives now!
Fuck, I just need to buy 2 and I'm good
https://m.newegg.com/products/13-132-936
I was looking at this one, has everything I want but no bluetooth or wi fi. Can't find shit on google.

ASUS X99A (3.1)
I have the same one. Buy the normal one if you don't need wireless.
>Inb4 buying Z chipsets
>If you don't want Ryzen at least wait for X299 or buy X99
HEDT platforms always age better
>>60769682
That board has awful reviews. Anything else? Preferably in the $250 range?
>>60769920
What kind of reviews? I don't think theres another ASUS one. You may think of ASrock, they use ASUS parts now, and X99 is always good.
I don't had any problem with my X99A/3.1. Its just perfect, no shitty gamer designs but a decent look, a nice BIOS and all modern technologies you need. And you can set adaptive turbo voltage.

VEGA is faster than Titan XP.

*yawn*
Titan Xp performance for the 1080ti price.
How much internet do I REALLY need?
I online game fairly regularly, will stream movies and all that
Is there any real reason to get 200 mbps for $10 more a month? I plan on getting a PS4 Pro soon and that was my main concern, my computer operations seem to run fine at this 125 I currently have but I am moving in a couple days
>>60769522
Suck a massive black cock, and hang yourself. Fucking dipshit.
Fuck outta here vboy
Battlefield Servers had 64 players more than 10 years ago and it still worked fine even with a 6mbps line.
Watching 4k streams on the other hand needs at least 25mbps according to Netflix.
I personally wouldn't even know what to do with 100mbps. Maybe if you have to share the line with other people it could make sense to have that bandwidth.
any mp3 player reccomendations my birthday today

Amazon Alexa == DEAD
Google Home == DEAD
and guess what, HomePod's the only one that doesn't spy on you.

Guess what, both of those were already dead, so will be the Apple one.
And it's cute!

Which one do you prefer?

First is fast and easy to read
I like the third one.
First one is the most clear if you're unfamiliar with python
Second is what most pythonists fuck up their codebase with by turning everything into confusingly written one liner bullshit.

Stop using proprietary software.

CPUs:
>G4560 - budget builds (<$500) unless G4600/G4620/i3-7100 is heavily discounted
>R5 1500x - generally all you need for 60fps with power to spare. No i5
>R5 1600 - best value for higher fps gaming & mixed usage; 1600x if you too lazy to OC
>i7-7700k - bad value but good for higher FPS; may have heat issues
>R7/Xeon/Threadripper/i9 - compute/Multitask/mixed use
Graphics:
>G4560 iGPU is fine for desktop stuff and very light game
>1050Ti for low budget. Drop settings if not Freesync/Gsync on newer games; RX560 if discounted <$90
>RX570 4GB - 1080p@60+hz, running most maxed; older games at 144+hz
>RX580 8GB - 1440p@60+hz, inject SMAA & drop settings
>1060 - Generally outperformed by the RX 580 and GSync costs more; consider if AMD is not an option (ie CUDA/miners buying all RX570s)
>1070 - if on heavy sale-ish
>1080 - 1080p@100-144+hz maxed; 1440p at lower hz.
>1080Ti - 1440p@90-144+hz; 4k@60hz in SOME games, more at lower settings
General:
>READ PRODUCT REVIEWS to see if that cheap SSD/PSU or whatever is reliable
>Consider larger SSD-only for what you budget SSD+HDD combined. Add HDD later once needed
>NVMe aren't for faster OS boot. They're primarily for productivity/scratch disk/VMs
>Stop confusing any M.2 drive with NVMe. M.2 is a form factor
>mATX board + case is often cheaper
>1 SR DIMM is slower than 2 DIMMs
First for Kike miners ruining 580s
Newfag here, why are they called cryptominers?
How jewish is Newegg when it comes to price matching? I don't want to buy a $40 212 from them just for them to turn around and try to tell me that Amazon's one costs that much with shipping or some bullshit.
Personal site: should I use my real name or a pseudo-name that I'm okay linking to my real name?
Publishing all my projects under my real name directly feels pajeet-like but a real name in the domain looks better on a resume. I'm big on opsec so the idea of linking something to my real name is insanely off putting.
I'm thinking of having my real name domain be an email box and redirect to my pseudo-name where I can post projects and stuff. That way personal information stays offline, only my real name gets linked to the pseudo-name.
