Someone tell me right THE FUCK NOW why people are dumb enough to buy into this "Internet of Things" scam and let shit like this happen:

"As our "smart" homes fill up with internet-connected devices, the risk grows that hackers will find weak points in our networks, steal our data and hijack our lives. What should we be doing about it?

It's not normally a good idea to sign off your Powerpoint presentation pitching for work with an expletive.

But this is what Gary Berman did - albeit unknowingly.

Hackers had broken in to his home network via an internet-connected printer and sabotaged his files. Instead of signing off with "thank you", the hackers changed the first word to something offensive."

Why even fucking live if the majority of humans aren't worth contributing to

Are we all just participating in a massive pyramid scheme that's socially enforced through peer pressure?

Are we just generating shekels to push up the ladder merely to be given enough food, water, and shelter to raise a child and indoctrinate them into the same wagecuck mentality?

Okay, I miss MS-DOS. There I said it. While I consider Linux better than Windows, I hate it and anything Unix(like). Fuck it, I'm going to learn how to program and I'll write my own os. I simply can't deal with this shit any longer. You can post some things that can help me getting started or do another senseless flameware on who's shit is more stinky.

>I hate it and anything Unix(like).

Why?
>>
I've been playing with arm64 assembly and reading on OSDEV lately and I also was thinking of making an OS with a custom API (unlike POSIX) it shouldn't be too hard to implement.

Got Stallman's comment on the Windows 10 Source Code Leak
I think the leak was only some driver stuff and other more worthless stuff right?

Not like the entire OS's source code got leaked so we could technically make a fork? that would soon be shutdown by all the lawyers at Microsoft.

Anyone have a news article with more info?

What's the advantage of using terminal based text editors?
19 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>61067526
Well, they work in the terminal you're currently working in, and you basically can use a terminal in almost every situation if you sysadmin the respective machine.

You're not going typically going to fire up Xorg on your WLAN router or NAS box and then connect a display or forward it to a remote machine to use it, are you?

[Either way, vim has GUIs if you prefer GUIs.]
>>
The advantage of them isn't because they only run in the terminal but because they often have a keyboard control focus and you can type longer without interuptions, also vim and emacs both have a gui if you really want to use that.
>>
