What's your thoughts on biker style jackets? I'm thinking on getting these obviously I don't ride a motorcycle but I like the style. The shoulders are a bit padded only downside to it. Should cop or not

So I work in the women's shoe department at a Macys in a heavily African American dominant area and I just have to ask, what is the deal with Michael Kors? Literally half the black women that come in here are dressed head to toe with MK bling and they don't give a single fuck about any other designer. Does anyone know why this designer became so big within this community? Like who first starting promoting him for this demographic? His quality isn't even that good in his Michael by Michael Kors line but these women act like it's fucking mana from heaven. I mean I know there's herd mentality with everything but they cling to their Michael Kors shoes and bags like they would almost rather go blind than lose them. The shackles are off and now they're willingly enslaving themselves to a wealthy white man. Its insane.

OP here. I also wanted to add that I don't see the obsession with people of other races. They're not quite as branded, at least not collectively. Like they know he's designer so they might be inclined to look at him but they are equally open to other options as well.

What is /fa/'s take on plastic vs. metal eyeglass frames? I'm sure it's largely a matter of subjective preferences, but I'm interested in hearing people's opinions and supporting arguments.
I prefer plastic. I think they look better aesthetically, are easier to maintain (metal frames tend to accumulate gunk under the nose pads that's really, REALLY hard to clean out) and more durable (when I've had metal frames in the past, I found they tended to bend very easily, and were never quite the same afterwards).
As a teenager, I preferred metal frames because I thought plastic frames were too nerdy-looking. But as an adult, I've developed a penchant for the "nerd-chic" look, so the "nerdiness" of plastic frames has become a pro rather than a con. But that's just me.
What's the consensus?
