Just finished re-watching The Last Airbender. Should I re-watch Korra as well?
As far as I remember all but the third season were pretty shit, but it did have some good moments.
>>85617759
But why?
Korra is textbook "great idea, flawed execution". Season 1 has so many great ideas (anarchist revolution in rapidly industrializing magic society tempered by young upstart reincarnation of THE GUY who created the status quo with a side of magic sports) but fell flat on a lot of fronts (villain reveals, character development is short-changed, the plot needs a bit more weight concerning civilians and whether they are genuinely dissatisfied with Republic City's political officials, etc.). Even Season 2 has some cool ideas despite being a flaming trash heap in almost ever other regard (Korra has to explore her more spiritual side, water tribe civil war, Tenzin's Family Vacation giving character development to some of the most underdeveloped S1 characters, Aubrie Plaza voicing a character).
Season 3 is the only unambiguously good season. Season 4 is really good up until the mech, which was actually a weird reversal for Korra: a terrible idea that was executed well.
All in all I think Korra doesn't get enough credit around these parts, but it isn't as good as The Last Airbender. I'd say its a solid 7 or 8 / 10 series, which is only bad when compared with the at LEAST 9/10 ATLA. Only rewatch it if you really get a hankering for it.

Pretty much this. Also the fight scenes are good throughout the whole series, including S2 finale which people probably skipped.
What did you always dream of being when you were a kid, /co/? What was your dream job? Was it influenced by comics or cartoons? Are you fulfilling your dream?
Not influenced by anything /co/ related, but I wanted to be a magician when I was a kid. Learned a few tricks, but my interests just waned over the years to pretty much nothing.

piano player or professional wrestler. no idea how I came to either conclusion since I neither listened to music nor watched wrestling
>>85617500
to be a renowned webcomic artist
Was this the last cry of DC before it went full retard?
>>85617371
>TDKR
>Not full retard
>>85617410
Compared to current day DC?
>>85617371
yes
>Well, Chuckie, we're called the Jewels because my mommy says we are the most precious and the bestest people out of god's world, and we are more super special than the people who aren't Jewels
Seriously, how the fuck did they get away with that?
>>85617357
making up lines that weren't in the thing in question is the dumbest fucking meme
>>85617468
stop quoting Spider-man at me!
Only Tommy was Jewish. Chuckie, Phil and Lil and Angelica weren't. The episode was about him telling the others what the Jewish mythos is.
You know this because Deedee was Jewish and had Jewish parents.
So what's up with this three Jokers thing? It seems like Batman would have noticed before.
>>85616680
It' was a Johns idea, so no, batman had no way to notice that
Probably would have noticed if he had made a damn effort to rape that bastard a long time ago. I recommended the Batman get up close and personal with him several months ago, but he never followed up on it.

>paying other studios to make your show for you
>>85615874
All the budget went into this, didn't it?
Is the DC Golden age worth reading /co/?
Some of them are, and not just from a historical perspective. Anything that's in a [insert character] Greatest Stories Ever Told is worth reading.
Yes, if you can appreciate golden age stories for what they are.
>>85615854
If so which run would you guys recommend?
Did "Civil War" ruin Cap's booming popularity with the average audience with the whole MUH BUCKY thing?
>>85615688
If anything Muh Bucky made him more popular with the women.
Overall, I am sure the twitter polls favoring Cap and #teamcap beating #teamironman speaks for itself.
Still Iron Man reigns supreme in China.
I know way more normies and comics fans alike who were on Cap's side.
>>85615688
>Iron Man reigns supreme in China.
They just like the colors.
Am I dense, because I don't see how Raptor and Nightwing are different from Batman and Catwoman.
Minus the sex, of course.

>barbara will never not be annoying ever again
Come on, Babs. Dick was Batman for a year. Dude was even a spy and managed to take down the agency from within. Do you seriously expect so low of him that you'd believe he'd enter a villain society willingly? This is spy game 101, bitch.
>>85615368
Barbara is an annoying bitch this entire issue.
How much do you think Alfred gets paid?
I suppose he's paid very well because of all the Batman shit he has to do in addition to his butler job
Nothing.he was the legal tutor of lil bruce till 18 so he had absolute control of wayne fortune for a time, Also he should have an obsesive compulsive disorder to mantain the mantion clean and help batman in the night.
>>85615130
He does it free
>>85615130
I always imagined he does it for free because he has a life debt to the family.
Are there any good action scenes from comics?
>>85615087
Saitama will never leave the martial arts tournament
>>85615087
Luther Strode
Badger
Master of Kung Fu
most Quitely comics
some Punisher comics if they have a decent artist
Marvel era G.I. JOE (especially early on)
>>85615087
Most Dennis O'Neal stuff.
Azrael would be my biggest recommendation.
So is there a list out there of the "definitive" Iron Man books I should read, across the entire existence of his character?
Would like to pick up some of the best old-school Iron Man collections, and some modern Iron Man, but like so many characters I don't necessarily want to sort through decades of shitty/bad/etc stories just to find the best ones.
So, what are the best IM collections I should be looking into?
>>85614896
These are the ones that I like the ones with * are considered must reads by a lot of people.
"Demon in a Bottle" Iron Man #120-128 *
"Doomquest" Iron Man #149-150
"Deliverance" Iron Man #182
"Iron Monger" Iron Man #190-200
"Armor Wars" Iron Man #225-232 *
"Armor Wars II" Iron Man #258-266
"Crash and Burn" Iron Man #301-306
"The Mask in the Iron Man" Iron Man (Volume 3) #26-30
"Best Defense" Iron Man (Volume 3) #73-78
"Extremis" Iron Man Volume 4 #1-6 *
"Haunted" Iron Man, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. #21-28 (this is post Civil War)
Also pic related, you might wanna check that out too.
>>85616336
Thanks. I'll definitely have to check this stuff out.
Anyone else?
>>85616581
I loved the mark 4 era (retroactively names Silver Centurion), #200-231
Another solid stretch is War Machine up to Crash and Burn, #281-300.
#300 is one of the most bad ass Iron Man comics of all time.
Another good one for some tentpole history is #169-170.
How would you turn a DC fan into a Marvel fan?
What runs would you recommend?
What ongoings would you recommend?
Hard mode: Don't mention Vision.
Reading pic related. Good way to start, even if it immediately jumps into teenage love drama.
