Just what the title says; in your opinion, what are the best comics on the shelves right now?
I've been out of the loop for awhile and was thinking of maybe getting back in. Comics have really been disappointing me lately, though, and that was why I quit. They all seem so PC and safe and boring, also i find that Marvel can't write a good series to save its life, they just put out "experimental" "quirky" of little substance or significance and release event books that are all identical and boring as fuck. Also, they're pretty light on the writing, as in, most issues are padded as fuck with "storytelling" panels showing us useless information that requires little to no dialogue.
I was thinking of maybe trying out DC, but I'm not sure which titles are good. I collected all of the Snyder Batman run (mainly for entertainment, since most of it just pissed me off, but at least it wasn't boring), and was checking out Action Comics back when Pak was writing it.
Indie titles are also welcomed.
Currently I'm reading:

>Saga (feel like I should have dropped this ten months ago)
And I think that's about it. Haven't been to my LCS in months.

All things considered, why does the Marvel community aka /co/ dislike Miles Morales? I personally enjoyed his story tremendously, it didn't really shoehorn in that Marvel stereotype -- HURRR HE'S AFRICAN THERWFORE WE HAVE TO SHOVE THIS FACT EVERYWHERE AND ON EVERYONE.

I don't dislike him, but I don't find him to be that interesting, either. He has a very quiet, introverted personality, so the best he can do is "straight man" off other people.
This is very clear in the Champions comic. Kid Nova has more personality than him.

You're either baiting or a newfag because we have this discussion nearly every damn day. Hes fucking nothing. He's Bendis's pet character pushed in several books and hes redundant with Peter still running around. Drop the webshooters and Spider mantle, make him the new Scorpion (because hes known for winning every damn fight with a venom blast anyway) and be done with it.

Bendis is way too slow, the character is too introverted (without the tragedy behind Parker's life) and the comic is way too safe and derailed by events, that you cant really develop the character. All the little development Morales got was backtracked by Secret Wars, and he is always under the shadow of someone else, be it Parker, Tony, other avengers and even his equals like Kamala and Sam.
How bad do you have to be, to make Sam look more interesting than you?

They were going to add a new nemesis for Zim but they ran into the problem of coming up with a character that could stand up to him. Dib had the privilege of his dad's lab with the highest tech on earth, letting him fight Zim with his Irken gear.

CBR: Let’s look back at the year and start with the direct market sales numbers in the past year. There’s no denying that DC Comics made a major impact with Rebirth, scoring market share wins in dollars and units in July, August and September. Marvel has rebounded the past couple of months, though, back on top for October and November. What was your take on DC’s efforts with Rebirth, and are you confident in being back on top of the direct market going forward?
ALONSO: What matters to us is how we run our business, and how that contributes to the overall health of the industry. We want to entertain and challenge long-term fans, bring in new fans, and sell a lot of comics. We don’t view the audience as finite, so whenever someone sells a comic book, it’s a victory for our medium. That said, and I said this several months ago, we do not view returnability as a strategy that contributes to the overall health of the industry. Recent numbers and feedback from retailers is confirming that.
