I made the following recipe, and I am pretty sure I followed all the steps down to the letter. However, the end result was... quite bland. The meat and vegetables were tender, but it just seemed bland, and I'm really wondering what I did wrong...
http://www.budgetbytes.com/2013/01/chunky-beef-stew/
No mention of salt throughout the whole recipe. Just gives an 'adjust salt' as an afterthought right at the end. Adding salt right at the end wont have the same effect as seasoning the food as it cooks.
>>7182952
This.
This recipe probably needs quite a bit of salt, and it's difficult to do that when you're just "adjusting". Probably a teaspoon or so, but I don't know. I'm a bit of a salt fiend.
>>7182963
Definitely needs to salt the meat and possibly a small pinch with the veggies.
Though maybe she uses very salty bouillon cubes, so if yours are less salty that might be the issue,
How do you chop, /ck/?
Please excuse my horrific drawing.
With a persistent sense of my own mortality.
Did you go to the same design school as me?
Usually A.
If my knives weren't shit, and I could afford a nice wooden block, i'd attempt C
Merry /ck/hristmas.
Food meme's through the alphabet game go!
I've got 'A' covered.
With pic, pls.
>Artisan bread
looks like burnt bread to me. I'm not a fan of hard crusty bread. All my bread is bland looking because of this.
Carbonara
My doctor wrote me a prescription for medical cannabis last year for my conditions (cancer). I learned bho or wax edibles are best for my needs, I bought 2grams of 55% THC wax, I want to cook it into 20, 100mg cookies. How can I mix it evenly so it's in each cookie? Any suggestions?
It's like a sticky peanut butter consistency
Put it in a mason jar with the amount of butter you wanna use. Take a pot and put something in the bottom I used mason jar lid rings to keep the glass jar from direct heat. Put the jar in the pot on top of the lids, add water, simmer for a while. If you want to be precise you can look up optimum temperatures or whatever I just guess it's never failed me. Just don't heat the water to fast or you'll Crack the jar. When your done let it cool slowly then put in the freezer
This is the undisputed GOAT popcorn seasoning.
Garlic salt is with butter popcorn. That shit is good.

I prefer Hy's over Lawry's.
As if popcorn needed more fucking salt
What is /ck/ eating right now?
Me?
3 Jenny-O Turkey Burger Patties with crushed black pepper, MSG, and ketchup
I just finished 2 steak burritos with brown rice that my mom made.
It was bomb AF
Looks good OP, 8/10 would eat. Here is my last meal.
>>7182438
Lol op pic looks like dog food.
I saw this recipe, and assuming the temperature is in Farenheit and not Celcius, I don't see how it could possibly catch fire.
I've burned sugar before, and it was a relatively peaceful affair, with the caramellised goop boiling and slowly turning into black, carbony crust in the bottom of the pan. And eggs aren't flammable in the slightest. I've less experience with peanut butter, but I've never heard of it combusting in kitchen conditions.
I'm obviously going to try it myself, just to see what they taste like, but I thought I'd ask in case this was some classic ruse that first made the rounds back in '09 or something.
It's literally the same concept behind those "3 ingredient nutella cookies" but with peanut butter.
It's fine, but you'd get better results following a full recipe.

>don't see how it could possibly catch fire.
1) it could be hyperbole. e.g. maybe all it did was smoke up his oven but the person wrote "LOLZ FIRE"
2) many ovens have an exposed heating element at the bottom of the oven. If the "batter" were to melt and drip down into the burner or heating coil that could cause ignition.
If only someone had tried this before

sup /ck/
I recently picked up about 600g chicken hearts
What are some good recipes involving them? Can I just cook them the same way as I would chicken?
eat them.
I use 'em in one of two ways:
run through the meat grinder & use in sausages or cajun-style dirty rice, rice dressing, etc.
or
marinade 'em, stick 'em on skewers, and grill.
>>7182070
You eat those raw.
>know an italian from italy
>makes pizza
>no finesse at all
>uses AP flour
>canned tomato sauce
>everything by eye
>40% crust, 60% toppings
Don't get me wrong, I use canned crushed tomatoes but I add herbs and boil it down to reduce. His pizzas are diamond hard and the boxed tomato sauce is salty as fuck. He also makes the dough 20 minutes before cooking. Being from a certain country doesn't mean you can cook food from your nation better than someone else.
Yes it does. He's Italian and therefore any pizza he makes is authentic.
You're just appropriating his culture.
Anyone else glaze their crust with egg wash? Been thinking about doing this lately to give it a more golden color, maybe glaze it with a butter garlic wash half way through also for added taste.
>>7182062
I've never used an egg wash on my pizza before, but I have brushed the crust with garlic butter before putting it in the oven.
I do usually put some egg wash on top of my calzones or stromboli when I make that.
How often do you eat meat /ck/
I normally only have meat for dinner.
>>7182037
If I get a mcgriddle or mcmuffin, or b&e and sausage for brekky then most days.
I quite like meatlovers pizza too, steak is good and I think fried chicken skin is my weakness.
So maybe every 4 days or so?
>>7182037
Once or twice a week.
>>7182037
Sometimes once a day, sometimes twice, sometimes not at all. Really depends on what leftovers I have and what I feel like making.
What are you guys going to cook? I'm making turkey tighs but don't know about the sidedish. Any suggestions?
Stuffed chicken.
Fisherman's soup (if it's acorrect name)
Beigli
Vine-soup

Fuck, just google 'Hungarian Christmas Meal'
I dunno, I'm going to my sisters house and she's a terrible cook.
I'm just gonna take plenty of beer and get drunk with my brother in law.

>Stuffed chicken.
Looks interesting: http://zsuzsaisinthekitchen.blogspot.cl/2011/07/hungarian-chicken-stuffing.html
You eat that without a side dish?
casual reminder if you don't like MacDonald's ham burger, you are communist
Better to be a communist than to eat shit
>>7181812
Wendy's or Five Guys is so much better, you aren't a real American if you eat shit tier burgers OP
TLDR you are of the communists
>ham burger
Does anyone has that recipe that anon made with ground chicken to make a sort of loaf for slicing?
Fuck you Erdoğan you Islamist bastard. You get nothing.
You mean like a chicken meatloaf? If only there was a way for you to search the internet for this
>>7181794
>sort of
He used a very specific procedure which he detailed and pictured.
First I cut a hole in the bread, and add an egg in the middle
Half a fried egg sandwich with hot sauce.
A slice of savory and spicy french toast.
Poached egg on toast with hotsauce.
Egg salad sandwich.
Hot omelet and toast.
>>7181673
Or I guess you could meme it up with egg in a basket. That's cool too.
then I let the egg cook evenly in the bread this can be difficult for amateurs.
I'm at a Chinese Buffet. Ask me anything.
