What did /ck/ have for breakfast?
>you know it's done when it sticks to the wall
>>7175269
Nothing, because I'm poor.
3 over easy eggs , collard greens and black coffee.
Do you like fishsticks?
fuck off
>>7175132
Yeah, fish fingers are great
One of the only good uses for ketchup
Do you suck the shell before you eat the pistachio?
No
I just remove the shell and throw it in the bin
Yes, if I'm alone
yes.
duh.
I also use my tongue to open them, or at least try to.
I'm a pretty meh tier cook but my brother takes the fucking biscuit.
>Bro hasn't moved out to uni yet - still luking at parents house
>unleashing 2001 boxing day tsunami level disasters on the George Foreman grill
>every time he enters the kitchen he's got a grin from ear to ear, he's almost certainly gonna see how badly he can fuck up the extractor fan this time round
>sometimes i wonder if he's self-aware when he cooks or if he just smashes his ham-fists into any meat that gets within a two meter radius.
So one day I'm watching him go about his usual culinary tomfoolery
>he's sat in the middle of the kitchen trying to get his tiny mind to process what he wants to eat
>decides he wants beans on toast
>alright he cant fuck that up
Wrong
>He get some bread and slams it into the toaster
>he leaves it for about 6 seconds then tries to take it out with a knife.
>I tell him you cant do that or he'll get a shock
>he continues
>he manages to get this piece of almost warm bread out of the toaster, he just stands there and stares at it for a solid millenia
>"It needs to be hotter than this if its going to be toast right bro?"
>"Yeah just put it bac-"
He puts the warm bread in the microwave because I can only assume he believes the toaster isnt good enough for him.
>Im just watching him from the other end of the room wondering how long he can make question if he's secretly mentally retarded
>he cranks it up to max
>watching the warm bread rotate behind the glass
>"should be done soon"
After about 3 mintues smoke begins to come out of the microwave
>"Should it be doing that"
>"Yeah... don't worry thats how you know its being toasted"
>No regrets
>another 3 minutes pass
>smoke has now entirely filled the room
>smoke alarm going off, loud af
>he opens the microwave door and the bread has all but disintegrated
>"Whatever- i'l just have beans"
I'm still trying to come to terms with the fact that I share a gene pool with this guy.
In my family my dad's the cook and my mom.. well notsogood.
She doesn't read instructions or even go off them, she just makes up the numbers in her head and they're %30 of the time correct. Other seventy percent it's generally uncooked completely.
One day she was making mac and cheese
>put noodles in pot
>4 shots worth of water in there
>turns stove to max and goes to watch TV
>comes back sometime later with burning smell
>"nah its fine"
>Pours cheese mix into bowl of water then places in pot
Now it sounds like she does this stuff on purpose, but she wears aprons and shit and gets her knitted oven mits to touch the pot, then on the social side tells all our neighbors in conversation situations "yea I do all the cooking what would they do without me.."
>Bro hasn't moved out to uni yet - still luking at parents house
If he's going to uni why would he move out? How can he afford rent if he is studying full time?
what anime is that?
Brehs, what's your fave Ben & Jerry's variety?

There are so many at the store I end up taking too long to choose one and lose the impulse for ice cream.
ive never been able to eat more than a spoon of any flavours ive tried, and my flatmate is manager of a cinema with a sizable B&J counter so that's quite a few... i've not got much of a sweet tooth and i don't like milk chocolate.
pistachio is such a boring flavour, but it's the only flavour of theirs i like. even their vanilla mix on it's own is too sweet. i'm not one of those 'sweet things are for girls!!!' guys, it just makes my back teeth hurt. i just looked up their menu and the bourbon pecan pie sounds nuts but i want to try it... nowhere near texas though.

Chicken liver. Your thoughts?
>>7174809
Bump for interest. Never had it but I want to.
>>7174822
What's been stopping you? It's easy as doing a shit, and tastes twice as good.
http://ww2.kqed.org/jpepinheart/2015/08/27/chicken-livers-in-mushroom-port-sauce/ this worth having a go? Not sure about that ketchup though...
Anons, so how do I into grilled cheese properly?
In most of my attempts, when the bread is toasted to a point where letting it stay any longer would burn it, cheese hasn't fully melted yet. I'm covering the pan with a lid and using low heat.
What the hell am I doing wrong?
Sous vide it first to bring the cheese up to temperature then flash fry at 220
Heat isn't low enough. There's either something wrong with the stove or you need to use a smaller burner.
>GRILLED cheese
>"Hey guise why won't it pan fry properly"
Anyone else happen to see the king just btfo'ing comments today? I actually laughed at his passive aggressiveness.
Nah, I really fucking hate him.
>>7177343
There was nothing passive aggressive about this. He just told the cunt to Google the restaurant
What pisses me off more are the 22 soccer moms that upboated his comments
Jack on the Go theme song is literally the perfect music to start playing at embarrassing moments in your life
Can we get a knife thread going for a little bit? I've never actually bought my own, I've used whatever is available in the household and I'm buying my own place soon. So I'll need a whole new set of plates, utensils, cookware, etc.
The only thing bothering me is which knife to get. I've played with santoku, chef, 8in, 7in, 6in in the past and I can't decide. I've been told to go with what feels right but it's hard to pick one that I know I'll keep for life, or until it breaks. What do you /ck/ooks use?
Hi there /b/, use the catalog next time

to be fair, that thread is a smoking crater of lulz and sperglords at this point.

How DARE you reject my wisdom, I have spent thousands of hours reading bladeforums.net to reach this level of expertise. Must I spend the next hour posting pictures of my pocket knife collection, or will you finally accept my help?
If you had the choice between a healthy meal, and a tasty meal? Which would you choose?
btw if you choose the first then you are literally an antivax soccer mom. Don't you know water is a chemical? Science is kewl.
You say that is if they are mutually exclusive.
>>7176949
I'll choose the healthy, tasty meal. Fuck you OP, they are not mutually exclusive, you fucking faggot.
Kill yourself you fat piece of shit

December 27th is National Fruitcake Day in the U. S., but you can bet your bottom dollar I'll be eating plenty of that delicious cake before then.
How can anybody not love fruitcake?

Fixed that for you.

how do i into good meatballs? any tips?
Easiest thing to make. Garlic and parsley are key IMO everything else you can just wing depending what you like
Soak breadcrumbs in milk.
Always add an egg to the mix.
Half cook the meatballs at a high temp in a different pan with onions and a little bit of olive oil, then finish cooking them in the sauce.
What do you do with the leftover egg if a recipe uses only egg whites/yolks?
Use white for meringues and yolk for mayo - or just throw it in the bin... How much is half an egg worth...?
>>7173474
if i have whites left over, i make them into an omelet for breakfast the next day, if its yolks i'll save them and mix them with french toast next time i make it
if you're looking for something creative, you can make baked meringues with whites, or a custard/pudding with the yolks
If I have leftover whites I throw them in the pan with some bacon for breakfast or late-night drunken breakfast.
If it's the yolk, which rarely happens, I make carbonara or bearnaise.
I have $32 left in my bank account and I don't get paid until the 24th. How to best spend my money until then?
Rice, beans, frozen veg, small amounts of cheap meat
Cigarettes and vodka.
