What's the best food to make/eat drunk or high on a sad, lonely, and rainy night?
Any dish with a lot of meat.

Singapore Chow Mei Fûn
grabbing some greasy amero-chinese food like general tso chicken
How do you cook your chicken breasts if you don't have an oven? I only have a stovetop atm and I usually bake them so I'm just winging it.
>>7718802
Strait on the mother fucking element hibachi grill style.
Cast iron skillet. Just cook it in some oil.
fucked up and they're tough as hell. Dammit.
How are you doing this depressing friday evening /ck/ fellas? I've got some cabernet sauvignon, grilled cheese, mustard chips that are out of the frame and Lost Highway keeping me company.
I hope you're doing better than me, /c/u/k/s.
I have the Cab Sauv going too, some homemade clam chowder with oyster crackers, some cheese and fruit, and am re-watching Marco Polo before the new season comes out.
I'm going over to my folks to watch a soccer game. Probably gonna have a BBQ or something. Then later I'm going to some party, probably gonna get drunk on cheap merlot and annoy people.
I suggested Lost Highway to someone earlier today, was that you?
What microwave does /ck/ use?
I'm getting a new one because I'm sick of this Emerson one that beeps at 180 fucking decibels every time you push a button with no way to disable it.
>>7718357
>no way to disable it.
Take cover off microwave. Find the buzzer and disconnect one of the wires from it. Problem solved.
>>7718357
why not just rip the speaker or whatever out of it
Which tuna is the best?
This is the best canned tuna I've found. It's not terribly expensive, either, depending on where you buy it.
Out of those three, Starkist is actually the best.
>>7718370
Agreed Starkist is the thickest of the 3.
What's everyone having for lunch today?
Chopped sirloin with fries and Texas toast
>>7718197
That's one miserable looking hunk of meat.
And a ridiculously large side Salad.
So /ck...
When you're cooking at home, do you mind if someone helps cook the meal or are you such a control freak that you turn it down?
>>7718156
I'll let someone peel potatoes or something simple, usually just ask for them to clean the dishes though.
>>7718156
I'm a clean freak, but I trust other clean freaks.
If it's my friends with dogs who never wash, i'll make them wash their hands and only let them handle food before it's rinsed, like vegetables.
>>7718156
I'm a control freak about the actual cooking. As far as prep, if the person involved has proven they're not incompetent I let them help. I've got a couple friends who are trained chefs and I let them do whatever the fuck they won't, it'll be better than whatever I had in mind anyway.
Do most bars have this drink? Or will I get looked at weird for ordering it?
Aqua Velva
Any bar with Blue Curaçao will be able to make it, even if they have to look up the recipe.
You'll most likely get weirder looks from the people around you than from the bar tender, but then again, it depends what kind of bar you go to.
>>7718154
I go to gay bars.
That's the blue liquid they use in sanitary pad commercials
How does /ck/ cook/prepare its Salmon?
I don't know much about cooking so I usually bake it.
>>7718111
Depends on how it's cut.
My preferred method is a skin-on fillet. Pan fry for dat awesome crispy skin.
If it's a steak (like OP photo) then those are great grilled.
>>7718115
I usually get fillets from the store
I bake it as well.
I just melt down butter and dill in a roasting pan. Once liquidfied, add salmon skin up. Cook for a little while, then take out.
Pull skin off, salt and pepper both sides, then put uncooked side down in roasting pan.
Cook for a few more minutes until temp is right.
Pretty sure this is first recipe result on Google when searching for salmon. I've stuck with it because I live on marylands eastern shore which gives me the opportunity to buy day caught fish at the dock as opposed to cooking farmed salmon from the west coast
Is this soup good for my sick grandma? should i remove or add anything?
Fuck that cabbage soup shit.
Ham & pea soup or you don't love your grammie
>>7718090
Chicken bouillon granules are basically just chicken flavored salt.
Sear some chicken (legs preferably, they'll stand up to a long simmer and get tender) then deglaze the pot with unsalted stock if you can't make your own.
Other than that, seems okay.

Can we have an awful/funny meal thread?

You must make a delicious appetizer with the following ingredients:
>Pineapple
>Duck Breast
>Hotdog Bread
>Spinach
You have 25 minutes
>hotdog bread
You mean a bun?
Butter poached duck roll, creamy spinach and pineapple chutney.
Score the fat and season the breast the put the duck breast fat side down into a cold pan and slowly render the fat off.
Put into oven for 10 minutes at 350 degrees after fat is gone. Pour the fat out and leave aside. Let the breast rest afterwards.
While in the oven and resting, cut little round squares from the hotdog roll and fry them in the duck fat.
Steam the spinach quickly, then season it.
Finely dice the pineapple into little chunks.
Carve the duck breast into centimeter thick strips.
To plate: put the hotdog roll rounds on the bottom, then late some spinach on it, followed by a duck breast strip. Then top with some diced pineapple
What's next? A keurig for pita bread?

Good Mushroom substitutes? Need something that can act like mushrooms, but aren't.
I'm allergic to most of the cunts but I see a lot of dishes with them, what can I use in its stead thats good?
Trying to do some fun stuff with pork, and most of its either mushrooms or sweet.
>>7717828
Shrimp is a good substitute they take on flavor similar to the way mushrooms do
>>7717828
>act like mushrooms
In what way? You're going to need to be more specific than that.
Absorbs flavors? Many vegetables do that. So does tofu and tempeh.
Has a savory/umami flavor? Meats or fermented/cured vegetable products: soy sauce, tamari, douchi, etc.
Duplicating the texture? Meats (depending on how you cook them, of course). Root vegetables.

IPAs are a shit meme beer only drank by hipsters that don't know anything about beer
[Y/N?]
>>7717781
>here's your reply
Try hard faggot
>>7717781
No, I've had one or two that tasted good.
It's the ones who think that just a ton of hops and being extremely bitter make it good and think struggling to drink a beer is a good thing that ruin them.
>>7717781
My dad has been an alcoholic since his 20s, he drinks IPAs sometimes. So probably not, I wouldn't know though.
