How does one become a master cook? Does it just come naturally?
>>7793042
Time, training, practice practice practice, and lots of cocaine if Gordon Ramsay, Anthony Bourdain, Wolfgang Puck et all are any indication
Work your way up from the bottom, go school for it, or be the beneficiary of a ton of nepotism
Like most things really

The first thing you need is a personality for television.
The second thing you need is a good manager.
The third thing you need is a whole lot of luck.
It's helpful if you know some stuff about cooking, too.
I am in Berlin for a few more days and I am getting tired of döner and currywurst. What should I eat? Would prefer cheap stuff. Have a proper kitchen
Schnitzel.
can you read German?

You're a fat shit not accustomed to fiber and water?
>>7792993
Or maybe OP is genetically substandard and can't process citric acids, fruit sugar or any of the other ingredients in a fruit smoothie.

Could be fructose malabsorption?
Maybe try eating it with oats?

Okay, so, flan looks really good. I mean, just look at it!
But it has the mouthfeel of boogers.
Does anyone even really even like flan? If so, do you have any tips on how to eat it/where to get it? I think the last time I had flan I'm pretty sure I got it at taco bell, so that may have been the problem.
only latino/spanish people seem to enjoy it. Find a quality cuban bakery in your area and try again. Other than that....shrug.
In my experience, nobody likes flan who didn't grow up with it. That's just how it is.
I grew up with it and I still don't like it very much. It's alright, I guess, but I've never been much of a sweets guy anyway, and custard doesn't do it for me. Once in a while I like it, but for the most part, eh.
fry it in lard
How do I prevent my hot dogs from shriveling like pic related? The other day I grilled some hot dogs, and the turkey dogs especially shriveled massively after a few minutes cooling down waiting to be eaten.
>>7792769
Boil them, like you're supposed to. Grilling is for good sausages.
Buy real hotdogs fgt
vienna beef
hebrew national
Ketchup reverses the hotdog aging process
Share your pancake recipes
2 large eggs
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup water
1 cup flour
2 Tbsp triple sec
That's a crepe
Ik. But i just pour it. I dont spread it around.
Rolled oats, water, salt. Mix well into pan. Roast on high heat until crisp bottom. Turn off stove and let it sit for a few minuts.
You will get an oatmeal flatbread what can be used like pancakes.
Are you eating enough greens /ck/?

none of your businesd
Yes, ever since I found I can easily meet my daily green intake by adding some food dye to my burgers.
What's the most superior salad dressing?
I use some canola oil, sprinkle some MSG, and sprinkle some dried parsley onto my baby spinach.
Store bought salad dressing is insanely bad for you.
>TL;DR personal favorite dish of your country or one you have visited
I just started cooking for myself recently (not grilling for once) being an 18 year old, lazy, life sucking piece of shit, and I have discovered two things:
>My mother cannot cook for shit, nevertheless I still love and appreciate her efforts
>Food has a much greater potential than I originally thought
Being a food loving Amerifag has its obvious problems, and I would like to know what foreign dishes I should try.
The first thing I cooked was spaghetti, which I fucked up the first two times, but eventually got right and loved. My second, last night, was goulash. Again, it was amazing.
Could you please recommend a personal favorite dish of your country or others? I'm very open minded and would like a challenge.
A Czech favorite originating from Hungary, you should definitely be eating guláš.
I also recommend svíčková (braised beef with czech dumplings and cream sauce), holubky (stuffed cabbage rolls in tomato sauce), and kulajda (dill soup with sour cream, potato, and mushrooms).
Puerto Rican food is pretty interesting, like most Caribbean food it's hearty and filling with lots of unique island flavors. Mofongo has gained quite a reputation due to food television in the past few years. Arroz con gandules (rice with pigeon peas) is the perennial side to most PR meals, though we also eat white rice, rice with red or pink or black beans, and many other preparations. There is nothing on earth like a good pernil (roast picnic shoulder -- with lots of crispy chicharron). There's pasteles, kind of like tamales with a yuca-based masa instead of corn, and wrapped in banana leaves. Pastelón, best described as a sort of Caribbean lasagna made with ripe plantain slices instead of pasta, ground meat, and cheese. And there's the Latin favorite, sancocho, a hearty soup made with meat, corn, and lots of tubers. I like the PR version best but I also really like the Salvadoran and Panamanian versions I've tried.

How the fuck can you fuck up spaghetti ?
Also try cooking boeuf bourguignon. Done properly it's amazing
R8 enchilada casserole

bloody poo as a stew
@op
No
>>7792668
3/10.
I love me some enchilada casserole, but that looks disgusting. The meat shouldn't go on the top layer and it looks like you put the sauce over the cheese. It also doesn't look like you lightly fried those tortillas at all beforehand.

/ck/ is a slow board, you gotta give it time. It looks good pretty far.
I've been doing soups this winter for the first time ever. Here I've made Slovakian garlic soup today. It's pretty full-on. About 12 cloves to 8 cups of water and 4 medium potatoes. Replaced caraway with rosemary. Only one teaspoon of paprika because I've got the hot one instead of sweet smoked. With the paprika, the colour tends to bond with the oil, would that also be where the flavour ends up? Got the spiciness just right but it irritates my throat a bit.
Over previous weeks I've done lamb and barley, and split pea and bacon. Both taste fantastic. What are /ck/'s stable soups? Preferably ones that don't require trips to specialty markets.
Chilpachole, a shrimp and crab mexican soup. The broth is usually spicy.
>he doesn't do Potato and Leak Soup
How long before the redditors come in with their gazpacho?
>F'yeah!
It's okay to swear on 4chan, OP. You won't get downvoted for it.
