Tax returns are right around the corner and instead of blowing it on stupid shit like alot of other people, i want to know what i can do with it to actually make more money.

Long story short, how to do i take 7k and actually make money with it. I have a family to take care of and this average joe job shit with average pay aint doin it

i knew thatd be the first response. Im looking to make money, not waste it. Any better ideas?
>>
use tax return to buy tools
eventually buy a used pickup truck
learn landscaping
put adds on craigslist and put out flyers in the neighborhoods that you go to
use electric hedge trimmer to cut people's hedges
mow grass, build raised beds etc.
Basically start your own business.

Hey /biz/, I'm wondering if there's anyone among you who has experience in creating fake aliases for social media in efforts to outsource the alias to clickbait websites

There are Facebook and Twitter pages under the name "Liam Dineen"; I've investigated a little bit and kind of realized that the guy is using a fake name to just post viral dog shit to teenagers; every other post on his pages is an article from a clickbait website

My goal is to create one or two of these fake aliases on Facebook, and possibly over months or years I can start making a good amount of money from outsourcing

The problem is - I don't know where to get started. Should I pay to advertise on Facebook early on, or should I post in these pages' comments until enough people like my page? Not sure how it all works desu

Other than fraud, what is it called if someone somehow goes through the trouble of making a fake corporations and selling shares of said corporations in the pink sheets for massive profit? Or might this somehow be legal and a common thing? I really want it to be the latter.

If they do it more than once and it involves more than one person, it might be considered racketeering/RICO
>>
>>1060814
What if someone did just enough business to sell shares without being considered fraud? And it might turn into something legitimate and worth while in the long run, but start off gambling with investor's money?

Hey would any of you fine gents mind chiming in with some advice?

I have this site/app idea that fills a need and I couldn't find anything in the marketplace quite like it. (not a complete monopoly, but sort of unique in terms of how I plan to market it/write copy for it)

Now, of course I don't know Web Development (HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, MySQL, etc) too well, but the time for me to learn/build it kind of scares me, because one with knowledge could probably make it in a much shorter amount of time.

What do?

a)find a technical co-founder
b)hire someone to build it
c)learn to build it myself
d)other ideas?

b) but you can't afford b) and if you don't have prior experience programming c) will take forever so a). Make sure you choose someone who is kind of autistic/socially inept so that they don't realize that once you've communicated your idea to them, you're completely disposable.

Harder than you think. There are many more scumbags with a website idea looking for someone to make their website for free than an asspie who can be suckered into making one. Getting a 50/50 partner or hiring someone are the only realistic options.

Before he was into HFT/Quant, what do you think Navinder Sarao's strategy was?

Regardless of what you say, you can't deny the fact that he was a great trader even before HFT.

Do you think he was reading order book/market flow or doing chart/indicator trading or wut?

Hey there /biz/.

It's transfer season, and I'm looking to see where I should apply to bring my associates in I.T.

What sort of meme-tier schools should I be staying away from? And are there any places where I'll actually stand a chance networking with others, considering I'll be a new face coming in after 2 years of community college?

Are there any Washington schools worth looking at, or is that looking in the wrong direction?

Pretty sure the only decent school in Washington is UW.

Everything else in the Pacific Northwest is Portlandia-tier embarassing.

It helps out having avoided two years worth of debt, but now it's also tricky again.

Should I just be pursuing IT jobs with a two year degree, or would that fuck my salary long-term?

For context, 3.92 GPA from a community college, plus an I.T. work study for a semester. Don't know where I should be aiming with those though.
>>
>>1060579
> Going for IT degree
I have bad news for you... it's not worth the paper it's printed on as everyone already has this degree. Go to a trade school and get certified. Buy books and make a portfolio of your work. Apprentice/intern. Don't waste time in college.

Put companies out of business. Force other companies to sell or idle assets. Prevent investment in the O&G sector basically to prevent a quick ramp-up of production.

Possibly to hurt ISIS which is actually a threat to the kingdom.

Also this all could be at the direction of the US in order to put a hurting on the Ruskies.
>>
>>1060537

I've wondered this myself, they must have some more obscure geopolitical goal in mind, I doubt it's business related

Possibly they are trying to force the US and Russia out of the mid east (by tanking their economies so much they can't afford to stay) so they can once again be the biggest dick in the region

Is an MBA worth it?

I'm currently making $35k/year with a Bachelor's degree. I did very well - I graduated with distinction and a high 3.7GPA. The main reason my salary is so low is because I live in a rural area and didn't want to move to the city.

I'm considering getting an MBA. My sister-in-law actually works at Purdue University's admissions office and she says I would be a shoe in with my background.

Is it worth it getting an MBA in my situation? If I got one I would be wiling to relocate.

Forgot to mention I'm 26 years old.
>>
>>1060484
You are being severely underpaid right now, 35k for a job out of college is well below average. There are many factors that go into deciding if an MBA is worth it (will the company pay, are you going to stay in your field, online or full time, etc).
>>
>>1060484
if your job only pays you 35 k a year in america then you're probably not in the kind of job that would ever get onto the kind of job post-MBA that would make the MBA worth it.

So now that the era of Walmart is over, why aren't you opening a mom-and-pop store? Don't you want to fulfill your dream of being a small businessman?

yeah.. lets open up a mom and pop store so we can get fucked whenever amazon opens up micro-storage units across the country and you get all of your groceries and shit shipped to you on the same day by a delivery truck or drone.

smfh..
>>
>>1060387
i don't think groceries, aside from maybe prepackaged products, will ever be delivered. people like to inspect their produce firsthand to make sure it's not damaged or rotten
>>
Walmart is just reacting to the news from China. There are no new factories being opened and production is grinding to a halt. Look at their export data. Walmart can't supply all their stores so they're closing the ones that are a liability in the company books. They closed those stores as soon China took a shit. Which should tell you that Walmart was expecting this for years.

I'm looking for some books to read /biz/, it can be whatever genre as long as it is interesting. It doesn't necessarily have to be a economic or financial book

I'm also looking for a fiction or non-fiction book with an economic or financial plot. Something similar to Spice and Wolf. Is there anything similar to this in a novel form?

Aight, real nigga hours.

All books about finance written before the HFT renaissance are toilet paper. There does not exist a book today that can prepare you for the warzone of modern wall street.

Read journal papers about market microstructure, a PhD textbook in statistical and probabilistic reasoning, and learn C, C++, R, Matlab, some database shit, and linear algebra.

Then get fucked on the market and work as a McDonalds cashier until you die.

What does /biz/ think of network marketing? Networking might not be yalls strong suit, but I'd figured asking if anyone has any first hand experience might be worth it.

I got introduced via a friend of a friend who thought I might make a good candidate for it, passed the initial "interview" and will attend my first meeting of about 20 people. They also gave me Robert kyosaki's book on network marketing to read. What am I in for?
2 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>1060226
Run, now. Network Marketing is just a new term for pyramid scheme. No long term success, heavy initial investment. The criteria for passing the first interview is being gullible and having money. Please do yourself a favor and do not attend that meeting. So far you are even, if you go that meeting you will have wasted your time and most likely some money (peer pressure at those things is insane). If you don't believe me, go ahead, buy into it, I'll see you back here in 3 months with less money than you started with.

Im poor with no car. If he wants a job he should look into LYING.

Do NOT tell those fuckers trying to enslave you that you don't have a car at the interview.
DO look up public transportation options. My old town didn't even have a bus, but we did have rural county access. Had to call a number, schedule a ride 3 days in advance, be ready an hour beforehand. It gave me a ride though.

If you want success you can get it. You have to be willing to do something for it though, not make excuses like hes doing.

friend: She does but she needs it
OP: what if you got your license
friend: No bc our hours conflict
friend: I'd need to pay 220 for Insurance on a car if I was on my mom's
OP: did all of the jobs require you to have a vehicle??
friend: All 4 that I applied for yes
friend: And those 4 were the best I could apply for

This. He needs to lie and bum rides off of friends until he can afford the truck and insurance (or just tge truck if he can dodge cops driving weird routes/times). Shame the economy is full of nearly impossible situations like this but people, espcially management types, are stupid and selfish.

Well, I'm right now a non-technical NEET(I'm in a shithole called India).

I'm currently thinking of ideas which can generate good revenue.

I'm interested in Nootropics(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nootropic). I want to focus my market in Indian children, working adult section.

India is a potential market for brain improvement products. Many products are falsely advertised as memory power improvement supplements and stuff like that.

But, I see a potential in legitimate marketing. What say my fellow /biz/men?

I'm also thinking about starting a Pharma company in India and I think this is the first step forward to do that.

Martin Shkreli is my hero!
