>From the year 1880 to 2012 the after inflation return for the average price of a home in the U.S. was a total of 23.25%. So in 132 years, again after accounting for inflation, the average price of a home went up only 0.16% per year! From 1880 to 2006 (the high point of the housing bubble) it was up a total of 96.18% or 0.54% per year.

I have to write a consultancy report as part of a university assignment. How the fuck are you supposed to find a company to write it for, do you just randomly email or call companies?

Do companies even care about the opinion of a student? Seriously, anyone here that has done this before?

Pick a company where you know a person that works there, so you can ask them questions.
or
Pick a company that has a lot of news articles written about them because there's a good chance you won't get an email/call back.

>Do companies even care about the opinion of a student?
Likely not. Don't offer it.

This is busy work for math classes.

Why add up the difference between two numbers? Of course you can do it like that but it's not as quick as just doing simple subtraction.

He's saying these days you get marks deducted if you don't show your working no matter how trivial it may be for you

is it just me or does property seem to be the best fucking way to make money ever?

there's basically no risk.

>population increases
>demand for property increases
>house prices increase
>demand higher rent/ sell property for profit.

I love the concept of property and will buy some as soon as possible.

/biz/, I'm 23 and I have about $10,000 in TFSA's, Mutual Funds and RRSP's (Canadian).

I don't know very much about investing and I would like t o learn. I'm not trying to look for the best stock to get rich, I just want to start actually educating myself about the market and finance in general.

I went to Investopedia to check out tutorials but I'm finding it pretty overwhelming, I don't even really know where to start.

I'd even be interested in books if you guys have any infographics. Any help is appreciated.

Op! My advice for these threads is always.
Buffetsbooks.com
Start there, watch tute vids. Good to go from there but dont stop...
Then:
Get a uni text on economics. Read
Uni text on finance markets. Read.
Then branch out from there.

Is it a good idea to join the army reserve to earn a college degree? I plan on being an interpreter but I want to know if it is a good idea to join.

> military = free college
Bad meme needs to die. Military does not give free college. Period. After you get out you can apply for grants for being ex-military but that's as close as it gets.

Look around for civilian scholarships and apply for as many as you can get your hands on. If you're under 26 there's also Job Corps for free training.
>>
Your question is completely different than the thread subject.

>Officers cannot be interpreters
>If you enlist when you could be an officer you're dicking yourself over
>ROTC has scholarships associated with it
>Implying that you won't deploy while in the reserves at the worst possible fucking moment

That GI bill is sweet, but you're better off doing ROTC and doing a four year hitch.
>>
Marine here. After I got out I had the GI bill which is pretty helpful. But honestly dude them saying its "free" is a meme. Im in debt from college loans even with the GIB. Do not join. Your motive just is not enough.

Decentralizing currency, decentralized storage so you don't need the data centers or anyone that needs to fund and therefore control the storage. It wrestles the power away from any one controlling entity and gives the power to anyone and everyone. I read about this when reading up on block chain tech.

It's interesting stuff. Power to the people. It's almost scary in some ways, like watching Skynet come online and become self aware in Terminator 2.
>>
There could be legal problems down the line depending on WHAT some stranger is storing on your hard drive.

It doesn't matter if it's encrypted. The mere possession of certain material on your hard drive is a crime, no matter who you're holding it for.

Hello. welcome to stuff bank.

give me stuff
you pay me interest to keep the stuff
and then you get the stuff back after you pay to get your stuff back.

It involves alot of complicated math and stuff
(emphasis on stuff)

Interest rates vary from 100% every 100 years to 100% every 10 minutes

we also convert stuff.
for instance, if you've got some liquid stuff, you can exchange it for some gassy stuff, or maybe some nice solid stuff.

rates:
1 solid stuff = 2 liquid stuff = 400 gas stuff

Can you store idea stuff? Such as waifus?

I have a question for fellow Englishmen on here.
I've been studying in London for around a year and I've noticed that there are tons of Paki owned grocery stores like this one:
http://www.rightmove.co.uk/commercial-property-to-let/property-39098442.html?premiumA=true
Most of the time these stores were empty with just a Paki guy watching Paki TV or talking to someone on Skype.

My question is, how do these people afford to spend £65k/pa for rent and still manage to have enough income to live in London?

I came up with the theory, that those kind of stores, kebab places etc. are used for money laundering.

In most cases, they are run by a family, not a single paki guy. Brothers, cousins and others jump in to cover the long working hours. It's very hard work for small pay (but after 30 yrs or so it starts paying out), and britcunts are not willing to do it.

Assuming ALL of these little shops are used to launder money, makes you and your tax autorithy look very stupid. Besides, it's easier to use consulting services and arts dealing for those kind of business.
>>
>>1059840

For starters, that's a pretty large premesis, and on a very prominent bit of high street in one of the fastest gentrifying areas of London. The little corner shops will have a rent that's a fraction of that. Ten or twenty grand a year isn't an astronomical cost in the scheme of things. The other thing is that a lot of those shops, particularly the ones in good locations, are on a long lease that they signed years ago, so the rent will be even lower than it would be today. It takes time for these leases to expire (they're often for ten or twenty years), so the corner shop will hang around even as the area becomes expensive.

Have you seen the amount of alcohol those places sell?? They're making a killing. The food is just a sideline the main money is in drinks.

How would Amazon feel if I published an ebook on their site for, say, $5, and then offered the same book on my personal website for $4.50?

The idea is to allow Amazon to market my books and make my pen name well known, and eventually switch to a model that allows me 100% of each sale instead of 70%.

Sup, guys. I am an academic writer and I have been working in the field for more than 8 years. Mostly, I provide my services using academic writing companies but last year I hooked up with a guy from Seattle on Craigslist and wrote him a huge thesis on 2007-2008 financial crisis. However, since I'm not from the U.S. and the method with which I verified my phone number does not work anymore, I cannot find new clients the way I did last year. This said, I would greatly appreciate if you could advise me if there is any way to verify my phone number using an online service for free or for a nominal fee. I would also appreciate if you could advise me some other online websites where I can offer my services. I have even been thinking about posting a thread in /b/ but I'm not sure that such post is alright, since it can be seen as an ad in some way. If you can't help me but know a place where people can, please point me there. I would be grateful for that too.

P.S. I mostly write papers on such topics as business studies, economics, marketing, management, and so forth. I also have a Master's degree in International Economics.

Hey /biz/
I run a car tire business in eastern europe(Hungary) and I own a lot of tires that are useless(they are so bad you can't put them on cars). Now things are getting interesting because people started asking if they can take them. They already took 2 truckloads of useless shit tires. My question is: how the hell are they making money of it? And they already spent a lots of money hiring trucks and people.

>>1061143
Collect more and sell them to tire companies in EU or ship them to Asia.
>>
Care to elaborate?
>>
>>1061143
Retread shops for truck tires use tire casings.

Once worn out tires are taken off of automobiles, they are considered scrap tires. According to the Rubber Manufacturer’s Association, there are three main uses for scrap tires: tire-derived fuel (TDF), civil engineering and ground rubber. In simpler terms, we can use recycled tires for playground cover, as building materials, erosion control and even as an alternative fuel. A company called EcoBorder has figured out how to utilize scrap tires to make garden hedging.

Google "recycling used tires"
