Every one is a capitalist, but not all to the same extent.

Hey /biz/. How do I not get robbed paying over $600 for car insurance every month?I'm a 19 year old community college student and I currently hold 2 points on my license (blew a red light in NJ) but I plan on taking that Safe Driving course shit and apparently it would make them go away. The other thing is, convincing somebody to put me under their policy is not a choice simply because nobody wants to take that risk upon themselves. Parents is a no also (family issues). What do I do ? Should I invest in kneepads even more every month? Pic related
>inb4 buy a honda bro
Forgot to mention, I don't want a 20 year old car just to pay a tiny bit less. it's simply not worth the amounts i'd have to be putting into it. what do
>>1060403
You're a poor college student. sell your car. ride a bike and take the bus.
>>1060409
I know that but not having a car is like having one leg - you'll get by but it's gonna be very difficult.
I'm not classified as poor, I'm just not classified as somebody who was $600 spare change to throw out on a car without any problem
I live in europe, Got some peoples from ukraine that wants to buy stuffs that they can sell for a good money there. Any idea what can it be? We are talkin about big amounts of used things. I was thinking about old fridges/freezers, TV, Washing machines or old car tires.
Used Cisco network hardware - access points, routers, switches etc...
Where should i look for a bigger amounts of those?

>>1059280
Holidays are dumb.
If you dont like your work enough to do it every day, find a new career.

You're a real wolf of wall street
>>1059280
I own the business - I work every fucking day - and I love it.

the fed has been engineering this crash for years now
good luck
>>1058860
It's just a minor correction. Big deal.
>>1058870
I don't think that it's going to be a minor correction.
I posted this on /adv/ but I'm hoping you guys will have the answer
I have an accounting exam tomorrow and I cannot wrap my head around IRR. The internet tells me one thing, my fucking stupid lecturer tells me another
Now I do not have the slightest clue as to how to work this out, some help would be great:
In a calculation of the internal rate of return (IRR) of a project it is found that the net present value is +£140m at 20% discount rate and -£84m at 22% discount rate. What is the IRR?
a) 20.38%
b) 20.63%
c) 20.75%
d) 21.25%
what is the formula to solve this?? clueless right here
Also, is there anyway to quickly get to the IRR? I really don't think calculating the NPV for different discount rates through trial and error is the most efficient way. We're only allowed a standard casio scientific calculator too, so no financial calculator
Disclaimer: I'm only a MathsFag and have not a fucking clue about finance or what IRR is.
Now, assuming we're looking for a value between 20% and 22% discount rate to give £0, I did:
(£140/(£140--£84) * 2% + 20% = 21.25%.
It's simple rations, senpai....
>>1062046
thank you man, sometimes it's simple calculations like that that does it, think I've just overcomplicated it for myself
What do you guys think about the seadrill stock?
https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#safe=off&q=seadrill+stock
I'm not a super experience investor, but I'm also not an idiot when it comes to this stuff either.
Could I possibly lose on an investment on this? Is it even possible for the price to stay below $2 forever? Or could it go out of business and I would lose the money? Or should I wait for Iran to start selling their oil too?
I just bought 5 stocks
>>1061720
oil has been fairly volatile lately so personally i just stay away from risky investments like this.
If you really do want to invest i would spend a whole boat load of time researching oil. From what i've read, it doesn't seem that a lot of people expect oil to rally anytime soon.
>>1061720
It's in a pretty clear downward trend, I wouldn't buy until it's somewhat bottomed out
Thoughts on AAPL earnings today?
Beat? Miss? Will guidance match expectations or exceed them?

Already out:
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-01-26/apple-forecasts-first-sales-drop-since-2003-on-iphone-slowdown
>In the recent quarter, typically the strongest of the year, IPhone sales rose to 74.8 million units, compared with the average 75 million predicted by analysts. IPad purchases continued to decline, with Apple selling 16.1 million tablets, compared with a projection of 17.3 million. Mac sales fell to 5.31 million, compared with the 5.8 million estimated.
The deception was the decline in mac and ipad sales, particularly given the new ipad pro. iphone revenue is in an all time high as a percentage of total Apple revenue at 66%.
So my mother in law got roped in by a woman to join in a multi-level marketing scheme.
It is called Forever Livibg Products and I think it's about Aloe Vera.
Give me some reasons why it's a scam. I know it is but don't have proof.
I'm from /b/ and not finance savvy
It's a classic pyramid scheme, not much else to it. It takes a special kind of moron to get caught in these things and I doubt you can talk her out of it.
>>1061604
These fucking things are always a scam.
It requires her to use all of her personal connections and basically beg them for money. I mean she sounds like a retarded bitch to me. Just ignore her and don't buy her fucking knife set or makeup or whatever she tries to sell you.
>>1061604
describes itself as a multi-level marketing scheme on its own website
Hey guys i decided to do what is in pic related.
But these bastards doubt too much and they're cheap as hell. They want to "meet" me
What do?
What pictures are u using?
>>1061601
Are you local tip them, m'lady?
>>1061611
I'm not showing them shit until they pay me. I have nudes of a girl who looks like an underage but she's not.
Why doesnt /biz/ have a sticky/wiki? I want the the TLDR on what do with my money.
I have ~13000USD in stock that my grandfather gave me when i was 10. Thankfully my parents didn't let me sell it and blow it when I was 18. Im 22 now, they still have technical control but I'd like to start really investing it smarter and generating something resembling a monthly income. It's in some kind of high dividend stock right now, with all the dividends going back into the stock. Sorry I dont know much about it desu.
Is it possible to generate a couple hundred a month with it? Where do I start researching? What is a meme here and what is legit advice?
Basically, wat do.
sorry no /biz/ pics so heres some bullshit that keeps showing up in my newsfeed
Find out which stock first, if its linked too heavily with the price of oil then I'd wait till later to start fiddling around.
I wouldn't expect too much money from it - high reward always comes with high risk. As a rule of thumb you might gain a 20th of your money per year.
Stocks are great and all but for most people they'll never replace a job.
>>1061629
90% of it in this. The rest is in SNP 500 something or another

investopedia.com
1. Read every article you can and get familiar with all the terms.
2. Watch the many, many interviews with warren Buffett available on YouTube.
3. Read books on investing, starting with "The intelligent investor" by Ben graham.
Only then should you even think about touching that money.
When the market crashes, im going to penny stocks....
Why not just buy a few hunderd dollars of some stock at .0001-.0003 and see what happens?
>why not bet a few hundred dollars on 13 black
your money would be better spent on a good pair of knee pads
Why do you guys want to be rich so bad?
I get the feeling that alot of you all its to impress people you went to HS or college with.
No one gives a fuck about you the morning after graduation, high school, or college. Money wont make them care either, so why are you all stressing so bad about it. pls do tell
The reason we want to be rich is to live comfortably and have freedom to do what we want.
>>1053190
describe what living comfortably is to you, and what it is that you want to do
>>1053183
Money=Freedom
I value freedom above all else. You want to take a spontaneous trip to the Caribbean? You need money.
You feel like dining at a fancy restaurant today? Dolla dolla.
Have a 10 hour flight and you don't want to be cramped in economy seated between two sweaty overweight fucks? Better fork over that cash.
Guys I think I've got the perfect business plan, first time posting here just wanted to run it over you.
>tfw you manage to acquire a house, dwelling or flat of some kind
>you rent it out to some wageslave cuck and they pay you for example £100 a week and a deposit, lets say £500.
>you use this money to rent a house, cheaper if possible, say for example £80 a week and deposit £400
>you are literally making £20 a week
>tfw you decide you hate the tenants or just want some quick cash, you kick them out and sell the house for say £100,000.
You've been making profit all this time and still have a house at the end of it which has probably sky rocketed with inflation.
Spot any flaws? This is why the rich stay rich imo.
>>1061776
>What are mortgage payments
Unless you are buying the house outright? Congrats you have just leaned about real estate investment.
