There's more buyers in the market than houses available right now so if new housing increases this year demand for lumber would as well seems like a decent time to get in

Don't buy dips; buy rallies. Buy strength; sell weakness.

/biz/ related question here.

My fiancée and myself are forming a business together. Her family bring the capital investment and resources which we will be selling.

I will honestly be doing all the hard work while she sits in her ass being an administrator which is fine. I don't care.

She wants the business in her name since her family is bring all the investment and resources and encase of divorce she wants to protect her assets. I do not want her families assets and I totally agree I should not be in the position to take them.

But is there a way to form our business where I get some kind of stake in the company where I cannot take her investments and make it fair?

Because is she is preparing for the worst shouldnt I? imagine I work for 20 years running and growing the business to just end up with a divorce. I would haven nothing to show for it and all I would have done it earn her equity.

I would literally walk away with no equity from the business which I grew from the ground up.

Is this fair or me to ask or am I being greedy?

Why do people gamble in Casinos?

I understand that it's fun but wouldn't it be more logical to trade FOREX or buy some pennystocks after doing research on them? - That way you still have the elements of "fun", "luck" and "a chance to strike it big" but also have much higher chances getting lucky from stocks than from the roulette table.

As in why don't people instead of gambling away thousands just take aside some spare money they do not care about, let's say $5k-10k and then try their best to make money with it without the emotional aspect attached and then if they lose, say Ok whatever and not care?

I happened to have accidentally pissed a group of people off at my last university, what are the chances of a group of pissed off people hunting you down and telling bad stories about you to your superiors (down the line)?

I also pissed off a girl who's a psycho sadist who used to get off to hurting me. She hates my guts now and might saved some of the text messages I sent her (like penis pics).

What are the chances of these people coming after me and talking to my boss or this girl chatting up my future girlfriends?

Anybody deal with something similar?

This is why you avoid confrontation and do things diplomatically.

Yeah you could get into an argument with someone/group, but why? Easier and more beneficial to just be the bigger man and smile/agree or apologize for the "misunderstanding".

You need to leave behind the highschool attitude of "one-upping" people.

Is it a good idea to invest in Japanese companies of the virtual reality, robotics and Chinese cartoon branches?

Recently there have been major advancements in the field and it looks like the waifu age keeps getting closer.

Do you think there may be some sort of valuable market in the future? Some 10 or 15 years from now?

What are some good investment options and what is your waifu, /biz/?

Hypothetical question here.

In Canada - Lets say you own a business. Can you simply list someone on the payroll as an employee (like a family member or something) and just pay them for free without working? Are there any legal or negative financial problems from doing this?

Yeah, I'm sure OP could hire that person for like 2k/hr, and then meet up for coffee every week or two to discuss "business". As long as the government gets their share and everyone declares their taxes and accounting and stuff, I don't see why there would be much of a problem. There's useless employees at all sorts of businesses.

just curious OP, what money are you laundering? Did you deal drugs or what?

Put yourself through baby pips school. It's a good start

Do any of you guys have any idea what kind of a job an 18 year old starving student can do for a living. Keep in mind that sucking dick here pays less than McDonald in US.
I speak English fluently with a semi-British accent. That's why i'm thinking customer support for a US company because minimum wage in America is prestige pay over here. Any suggestions on where i should try my luck?

Dude, America doesn't have $15 an hour yet. You're not going to be any richer moving to the USA to live on the minimum wage. Get something here first, get some capital and THEN try and make it in the States.

Is the government verifying health insurance coverage for 2015 tax tax year? Let say you want to claim your brother but he doesn't have insurance, bad idea?
6 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>1058310
You can most likely lie about it. Chances are you won't be audited unless you're making 200k+ a year which I assume you're not since you're claiming your brother and he doesn't have health insurance
>>
>>1058321

Safe assumption. Did so last year and no issue, but I have read that this year was supposed to be different. My guess is that the government is mostly talk and will not push the issue. The more we pay in penalties, the more the ACA looks like a failure and tax on the middle class.
>>
If a dependent you claim didn't have insurance for that year, my understanding is that you will get "fined", which will just be a deduction from your tax refund.

My dad got all pissed at me for not getting health insurance when I was 18 because of this. It's like, fuck off, if you're going to claim me then its your responsibility that I'm insured, don't act like its my problem.

I use Robinhood for all my stocks, but Robinhood doesn't have access to some stocks. My portfolio has about $50,000 to play around with.

What's the next best option for cheap easy trading? I want to buy some RYCEY and some Canadian stocks.

Hi,

Hi there financial people! Currently i am preparing myself for Bachelor thesis. And now i am really struggling to find the best topic. Mainly i want to write something about commodity currencies, bitcoin or euro, but just dont have any thoughts or decent ideas. Hence, though maybe you would be able to suggest something?

>Bachelor thesis

I graduated with my undergrad in 2008 and master's degrees in 2010 and 2011 and none of them required a thesis. I wonder if this is a new thing or maybe my school was behind the curve.

Anyway, a fairly simple and still topical subject would be the bail out and the Fed response. Was it justified or wasn't it? And evaluate the Fed response. A major component, which to this date I can't find much info is, what would have been the impact if we let the banks default and all these individuals and small businesses with more than the FDIC $250M account insured amount lost that money vs the cost of the bailout.

"In Fed We Trust" is a good starting point.

Go to a consulting firm. Personal experience: Accenture hires a lot of supply chain, logistics types. I spent about two years with them(diff. field though). Well worth the time for the job experience alone, and if you cozy up to the client enough maybe they will poach you to become an FTE.
