Going to try reposting this since the last one didnt get too much attention.
So I have been considering a career selling medical equipment to hospitals.
I have a "salesperson" type personality and was planning on going into high end real estate, but this seems more profitable. Is there anyone here that has/had this career and can testify on it?
What kind of schooling did you need?
Was it just the regular sales/marketing/whatever or did you need medical courses as well?

My dad worked in healthcare sales his entire life. He majored in biology, and worked at a hospital where he ended up teaching staff how to use computers when they began to be implemented. Got hired with SMS who was eventually bought out by Siemens. Worked for Siemens until he retired. He did medical billing software and support. Nursing with sales experience will get you far. He averaged around 80k + commission.
>>
>>1108284
Do you know if it's required or if they'll still hire you even if you went to school for business? because that's what I'm currently going for. How was his commission? I get that it's sales and it all depends but like on average how did he do?

just dont let any homeless people steal your equipment and dont have a faggy son and your good to go

I've decided to run my own show, start a business, become self-employed, a one-man show really.

The broad idea is that I would connect freelancers offering various services (logo/web design, fix wordpress/drupal issues, translations, audio/video productions, pretty much any kind of service for SMBs) with clients out there, SMBs in need of certain services.

I'd be a service broker, basically.

So far, so not exactly the best business idea ever but whatever.

I've got the PERFECT name for my biz, let's call it Perfectbiz. But I really need 2 words in there, like:

Perfectbiz Services
Perfectbiz Ventures
Perfectbiz Solutions
Perfectbiz ... ?

Could I get some suggestions as to what that 2nd word should be? Keep in mind, this is a one-man-show, so things like Corp., Co., Partners etc. won't work and I don't like "Services", "Ventures" or "Solutions".

Toppest kek. You made my day. Now if you could use your creativity and actually help me out here? :3

Also: what's my job title? I'm thinking...
Founder & Managing Director
...too pretentious?
Owner sounds... unprofessional. CEO is definitely too pretentious.
Leave away the "founder" and just be "Managing Director" at Perfectbiz Whatever?

any law student here? i have some questions that's been bugging me.
on hypothetical situations, let say i walk into a bar or a museum, a stranger punches me. i hit him back, the stranger stumbles and broke a $5000 painting that belonged to the place, so who should be responsible to pay for that?
or even easier, if i invited an acquaintance to my home and he broke my some of stuff, do i have the legal right to sue him for the damages?
imo opinion i think the owner of the place should bare the cost since they willingly let others onto their property

>let say i walk into a bar or a museum, a stranger punches me. i hit him back, the stranger stumbles and broke a $5000 painting that belonged to the place, so who should be responsible to pay for that?
The stranger would bear 50-100% of the cost, and you would bear 0-50% of the cost. It all depends on whether the judge/jury believed that your action in hitting the stranger back was a necessary, reasonable and appropriate response under the circumstances.

>if i invited an acquaintance to my home and he broke my some of stuff, do i have the legal right to sue him for the damages?
Depends. Was he acting in a negligent or reckless manner, or did he break your stuff intentionally? If yes to any of these, then he likely bears some liability. If not, then no.
>>
>>1111040
You're fired.
>>
I'm a legalfag in the Netherlands. And the answer here is fairly simple. But the answer might be wildly different elsewhere.

The person that attacked you is responsible for the damage. He broke the law / violated your rights, he's accountable for the situation it lead to (it's a risk you take by attacking someone), there is damage and there is a direct causality between his actions and the damage.

The same applies to the second situation. The person violated your right to ownership, he can be held accountable, there is damage and there is causality.

And in both cases the law exists to protect the victim against these situations and not for any other reason (relativity).

Go east, young man. Find a safer place that doesn't have a shitty education system and overpriced cost of living.

Because that's where my job and roots are.

I am +20 year old Accounting student working part time in pretty good company. I recently got an promotion and it is looking good for me. I have started to wonder how much wealth I have to gather before I can retire comfortably.

I am investing on stocks and have few apartments rented out. Net value atm 150 000. My plan is to invest 10000 - 20000 per year on diversified stock portfolio over the next 25 years.

I don´t have any illusion about being a multi millionaire or anything I think maybe 1 million stock portfolio + 400 000 for real estate fund would do for me and I Could stop working full time when I am 55-60 years old.

Does my plan sound legit or do you guys have any tips or advises for me? Please no "buy bitcoin" stuff I already have 10 btc and not buying any more.

What is /biz/'s opinion on oil trusts at the moment?

~3% quarterly dividends plus potentially increasing in price rapidly once oil prices rebound sounds pretty attractive to me. Is there a catch?

Well yeah, it's a trust which entitles the holder to profit from some oil rigs, of course it's going to be down with the price of oil so low. How would it go up when the price of oil is going down?

So I saw news that a record 359 stocks on major US exchanges are now trading under 1$. Does anyone know of a way to find/sort listings of those stocks? I'm really interested to see, I bet there's some fairly valuable companies amongst those.

Some people will tell you where to start is in an alley or truck stop, but that's just trolling. The truth is that you should start at a sporting goods store. You need those kneepads or you'll be seriously hurting.
>>

It's not too late. The total market cap of cryptos is only about $7B right now. I expect that one day it should be in the trillions easily.

The first step is to get bitcoins.I've heard coinbase is the place to go in America and coinjar is what I use in Australia.

Keep at least half your crypto in bitcoin. Regardless of what alt shills tell you, bitcoin is likely to stick around as the number one crypto. If any alt takes over number one spot you really won't need to have that much money invested now to make it big later anyway.

I use Poloniex to buy alts. Atm you can withdraw $2000 per day by giving a fake name and country.

Now this is going to be contentious and I will probably get shit on itt but I'm going to tell you my favourite alt. Monero/xmr is the real future of money. I would accumulate as much as you feel comfortable with after researching it a bit. Also since it's so easy on polo I would also buy $5-10 worth of some of the major alts just in case. They would be eth, xrp, ltc, doge.

Good luck anon.

Who here got helped through their university/college debt by their parents? How are your lives different from your peers.

Canadian university student here, my parents have helped pay around 15k of the 40k in total for my degree and I'm planning on graduating with no debt. Feelsgoodman

When I'm done I'm going to be travelling for a while. I have to admit it feels good not having to worry as much, seeing my friends struggling is really depressing.

Parents paid my whole degree, I have no loans and invest about 40 percent of the money I earn now. I realize I am very lucky to have done so and I'm trying my hardest not to waste the opportunity. I am forever grateful to them.

Didn't go to school but my folks have offered to cover my schooling. Never took advantage because good job but now that's about to dissappear I might go. Kind of old for school though at 25.

In high school my parents said they would match any scholarship i got. Little did they know i would get offered ~45grand, so they covered my apt and grocery money.

No debt unlike all of my peers [28yo]. Very thankful, strive not to forget it /squander etc

>All these degree tier memes all the time
>mfw I did a 3/2 program and went to a prestigious Liberal Arts college for a BA followed by going to an Ivy League college for Engineering

Let me shed some light on all of this memery for you so that the impressionable kids at home can make informed decisions.

The curriculum for most of the humanities and social sciences is great, but the standards are lax as fuck because as colleges have become for-profit degree mills while catering to legacy students. The dumb kids are pushed, by choice or necessity, into the humanities or soft sciences because the standards are so lax that anybody with a functioning brain can pass without really internalizing the curriculum. The Poli-sci/IR department could be churning out only mini-Kissingers every year. The Psych department could be churning out Freud upon Freud. The Business department could be churning out Sam Waltons and Bill Gates' like widgets. The reason that they aren't is because there is more money in it for the school if they let dumb kids pass, which is god awful for our would-be Kissingers, Freuds, and Waltons because now they have the same credentials and GPA as twenty other shitheads who are going out into the workforce and netting them a bad reputation. Don't expect this problem to be fixed anytime soon, but expect that as the wheat is separated from the chaff in these fields after college the process might be painful, and salaries will probably remain lower than for STEM overall.

Then you've got STEM. STEM is great. I'm getting my Engineering Degree and license in a few years. But STEM doesn't teach you how government works and why. It doesn't teach you to appreciate the power of the novel. STEM damned sure doesn't teach you the historical context of today's events. Bridges to other cultures and ways of thinking are not opened up for you. The curriculum doesn't shape you into a broad, well rounded thinker possessed of culture and refinement. It effectively leaves you as a highly specialized technician whose labor is very valuable but who is gimped in terms of being able to comprehend modern society. I've met architectural and civil engineers who couldn't critically think their way out of a paper bag, and Chemistry PhDs who didn't know how WW2 happened. Outside of their narrow field they wind up as ignorant as a plumber or a janitor.

Personally I think that my way of doing things with a dual program is superior in that it nets me the best of both worlds, but that's just me. Now can this shitty memery just die?

>b-but muh women's studies and minority studies a shit!
>b-but art history is just four years of partying on someone else's money!

Yes, I know. THAT nobody is disputing.
>>
You're not wrong, but it seems like being competent in both STEM and the humanities is redundant.
>>
>>1108366

The STEM degree is both a fallback and proof of your competence. The Liberal Arts degree equips you to handle functioning in higher society and lets you do something other than your narrow specialization in STEM.
