Say I have gotten to the in person interview stage of Y Combinator. What do?
>>1108536
did you watched the y combinator sponsored "How to start a Startup" series of youtube videos?
>>1108536
Tell them that they're a bunch of self-righteous jews that have done nothing to make the world a better place and then moon them.
>>1108536
Are you asking hypothetically - or actually? I've been to that stage (was much younger ~2011 and never got anywhere).
If the dollar is strong Dow is also strong.
Dollar strong is a symbol of strong America.
Weaker Yen welcome.
>>1108524
You're not on /pol/, fampire.
Ching chong
If the Japanese Yen is strong, it becomes cheaper American all stocks.
I want to get into economic theory. Where is a good starting place?
>>1108466
that book is a good start, i read about 300 pages of it and found it to be very clear
>>1108466
I'm interested in this as well. Right now I'm reading a book on Keynesianism, and after this I'm reading "The Black Swan".
>>1108466
Youtube. Search Economics for kids. You will learn the basics of economics in clear layman's language with cartoon illustrations.

Why not come and try it out?
What can I do with a 300mb fiber optic connection at home?
How could I profit from it?
I could make a local server for people in order to upload stuff to it (not many people, of course) and sell it. Self made porn videos aimed at a niche, or even better: self-made porn audios.
Any other ideas?
In your service agreement i bet it bars you from running a server. If not you could lease the line to a server or 2 but bear in mind that your house is now their work space if they need access to the servers unless you own the hard ware, you gotta pay for power, possibly cooling, ect.
How much are you paying for 300mb service?
Unless you own servers and the like it would take years to relize a profit. Do you have a band width cap?
>>1107173
How close are your neighbors? Sell them internet access for less that they're paying now.
>>1107173
host ultra high resolution videos of you blowing random dudes who stop by your place to get their cock sucked, you double dip in profit by charging for the blowies and then for the video, 20% extra to take a shot in your mouth and 30% extra to spit in your eyes, lodge a camera in your throat to get a fps style view of the action
What kinda adsense websites do you run?
The kind that make money?
>>1107510
why?
>>1107060
It's hard to make money with adsense. Bad ratio time/money
WHY DO I KEEP MISSING THIS SHIT /BIZ/?
WHY ARE DIPS SO OBVIOUS TO OTHERS BUT MY BRAIN JUST REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THEM
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
WHY DO I HATE MONEY!
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
IM JUST GOING TO END IT I'LL NEVER BE RICH
FUCKING REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Because you are a dumb fucking faggot.
DIps are the easiest thing to spot, why do you think there are so many rich people out there? They just buy the dips, unlike you faggot.
>>1106962
how were you supposed to know?
>>1106962

Translation: we will be releasing instant in 6 months
Oh shit, I was about to drop more money into it tomorrow. Guess I'll wait.
Go into robinhood and under your account click "Get Robinhood Instant" and it will reserve your spot.
I still really want to attempt to use ultra-cheap manual labour on a massive scale to change the climate and landscape of some really shitty part of Africa, though now that I think about it I'd be definitely willing to get some kind of profit from it just as long as I was still making a major socioeconomic contribution; in fact, could the two tie in well with each other?
What really matters is that I exploit cheap labour with the perfect balance between doing it for their sake so that it has a meaning beyond personal profit, but I also take profit from it so that I can keep the project running at a huge scale. I'd be the nonexistent middle ground between a charity and a business.
Is this viable at all, or is it delusional?
Pic unrelated, I'm bad at finding OP images.
>>1106359
i want to pump a whole heap of ocean water into central areas of australia so more rain happens in the adjacent areas
>>1106444
Unless you dug your massive pit connected to the ocean really deep (more than a few metres), wouldn't it just turn into a salt lake?
And unless you made it really shallow, it wouldn't be that great for causing evaporation and thus rainfall.
>>1106359
Africans are lazy fucks. That's the fucking truth. You will need to have some middle man that makes them work hard. See South Africa, they can speak shit about apartheid all they want but whiteys brought them where they are. Anyway make as much money as you can and gtfo.
Hello /biz/, /pol/fag here.
I don't know much about business or economics in general but recently I've came about a large sum of money ($3,500)
I want to make that into more money. How do I invest in stock and what not?
>>1106339
>$3,500
>Large
Pay off your credit cards fag.
>>1106343
I don't have any debts though?
>>1106339
/pol also here, wanted to know how to open a bank account without being jewed
it seems like they all jew you out of money for literally no reason, I want no fee's no charges, just give them my money, and if i need to, take money out or pay bills with that money
is that too much to ask?
I've been to banks many times, every time its "It costs___ to cash a check, you have to have ____ amount of money or we charge you money????
How do I not get jewed?
I'm a college student. My most recent employment was as an intern at a small financial advisory firm (with a lot of assets) for three months. It was fun and I learned a lot but I failed in my sales roles because I had very little support from the senior advisors, and I made that clear in interviews.
Recently, while interviewing for other jobs, I got a call for them. Turns out an HR rep at some place doing background checks basically told them every single negative thing I said about them in the interviews even though that was a very small part of what I had said about them. They were not happy and I was told that I should not use them as a reference anymore. This is an issue because this is my only serious period of employment, the rest of it being spent doing regular campus gruntwork.
Wat do?
>>1109152
Does 1 reference really make that big of a difference? You can still talk about your experience there. Someone with as little experience as you shouldn't really be depending on previous employer references anyway.
Just talk up any major projects you've done in classwork or extracurricular activities. And focus on the positives you got out of your internship, not the negatives.
>>1109152
Do you have any documentation of this? You can sue the HR rep (or, rather her company). And you should.
>>1109211
If anyone calls them from now on, the best they'll do is verify my employment, which might turn some future employers off. These guys were stellar references before (I had it checked) and I think they felt betrayed or something by what I said.
>>1109240
No documentation. I just got a call from my old boss telling me what happened and not to use them as a reference anymore.
i am a shy introvert with social anxieties but got a good job oppertunity in b2b sales. the people I will do business with are mostly mechanical engineers and such.
shoul I do it?
please respond
>>1109103
I had terrible social anxiety before I had a job at trader joes. When I had to be cashier, I was freaking the fuck out because I sucked at conversation and in order not to get fired there, you have to socialize with customers. After a week or two of doing it, I got super good at it because I just kept doing it over and over again for hours at a time.
Best way to ever overcome something I think is just throw yourself in the fire and see if you can make it out.
Seriously I had god awful social anxiety, worse than anyone I knew. You can do it, man.
Also try meditation, I know sounds cliche but it does calm the mind.
>>1109154
can confirm.. anxious as fuck before I started working in front desk at a Hardware store, now I talk with anyone without even thinking about it, it's like magic, also with time you start to notice that people get anxious or nervous as I prefer to call it when buying too, lots of times I laughed after the sale, when a qt started mumbling or got freezed in the middle of a sale.
So do it anon, it's the best way to overcome it.
Is it better to answer normally or have an improvised few seconds then use a memorised 25 second part? I mean in business contexts.

tune into around the 2 minute mark to watch donald trump say "win" at 2500 per hour.
but good job falling for the organized shilling of this meme
Realtime debates are fucking garbage either way. It basically politically correct shit talking.
Based on what I've seen with Donald Trump here's what you should do.
Speak in simple language 1-2 syllable words, and always end each sentence with a powerful word like terrific, or disaster. Most people are stupid and they remember things subconsciously.
You need to anchor your policies around some big idea. For Trump this is THE WALL. A wall is a big structure and makes it so everyone knows that he'll be tough on immigration. Nobody can compete with his immigration rhetoric becaue of THE WALL.
Repeat shit all the time. Im gonna win, I'm a winnner, we're gonna win again if I win the election win win win. Again subconsciously root this into people's minds.
Exaggerate shit. You could say "I believe we should not take refugees from countries like Syria and Iraq". Or you could say "Ban All Muslims". You could say "Reduce the amount of illegal immigrants by strengthening border security" or you could say BUILD A FUCKING WALL AND DEPORT THEM ALL. Always go with the more grandiose option.
Every candidate sells merchandise, but Trump's hat and slogan have become iconic. Why? He wears that shit everywhere AND it's bold as fuck. It's a big red trucker hat on a guy who's wearing a suit and tie, it stands out.
Basically do everything in your power to STAND OUT. Doesn't matter if it's popular or not, not much difference between fame and infamy, that's why Kim Kardashian has the best selling app on the iOS store even though she hasn't done anything of note. She stands out.
I've learned a lot from Trump.
Just turned 30. Am I doing alright? Bit worried that I'll be one of those poor saps working until the day I die.
Why do you keep 90k in cash?
I would keep 10k for emergencies, put 40k in etfs and 40k on your mortgage
Or even use that money to start a business, buy a franchise, buy an investment property, do something
>>1108174
Have cash saved up because I intend to:
A) contribute 11k to my retirement fund soon
B) am liquidating a business and need cash to hold me over until I have a new job
C) I'm looking at purchasing some rental property
My mortgage is at 3%, so I'd probably pay off the rental before paying off my primary mortgage principal.
>>1108174
Does that sound reasonable?
Just wanted to know how difficult it is to set up an online store?
Online store seems like the most convenient and surprisingly the cheapest method to sell your stuff (You'd pay ~40 dollars/year for hosting, whereas you'd pay 40 dollars to list something expensive (250% item) on amazon.
the biggest concerns for me are:
1. How to find dropshippers in UK
2. How to setup the legal stuff .I suppose you need to create a company name, tax bullshit, i dont know any of that and that is the biggest discouraging thing, i've never had a company and never even paid my taxes ( I'm 19 atm, in university).
Anyone had any experience with creating online stores?
>>1107831
Don't DROPSHIP. Unless you know what your doing. It's not fun. Also I know in the U.S. You can just claim it under personal income if it's just you. Not sure about UK. Just go to fiverr.com and get you some logos.
>>1107831
What online store were you thinking about? Reason I ask is because im 18 atm and run and online business selling subscription boxes, and some other stuff (not telling you my niche)
>>1107924
I was thinking anything from e-cigarettes to clothing.
Can I add on skype or something else to talk? it's kind of rare to see someone else as young as me running his own business.
