what does /biz/ think of Tim Ferriss?
>>1111558
/biz/, collectively, doesn't think much about anything. Have you seen the threads?
>>1111558
I like the guy, and I like the attitude of tinkering and testing and applying it to everything.
He's legit, but I don't think his business model is. Rather, it was a legit model for him because he was smart enough to come up with it by himself, but once an idea reaches best-seller status and thousands of copy-cats hop on board, the boat has long sailed.
His financial advice is sound, and I think what there is to learn from him is more a general way of processing things, rather than a detailed how-to. Definitely someone I look up to.
>>1111558
He's a great sales person, repackaging old ideas and selling them to idiots looking for an easy life.

>Only live off of fruit, vegetables, water, and occasional fish/meat. Cheap and healthy.
>Get into the habit of eating 'low end' frozen food. A bag of frozen spinach can easily cost $1 and it will feed you for an entire day.

Low sodium beans are probably better than meat by large if you're REALLY trying to jew.
The taste is less, but meat can be really expensive.
>>1110347
I agree. I forgot to mention that.
Meat is too expensive in my opinion.

>>Get a gym membership. Saves healthcare costs in the long term, allows you to be more effective at work, and have more energy. Never shower at home.
Home gym is cheaper in the long run. Just get a barbell and do SS
>>Only live off of fruit, vegetables, water, and occasional fish/meat. Cheap and healthy.
Grow fruit and veggies.
>>Learn basic carpentry and design. Ask furniture stores for spare parts they are going to throw out. Use them to build your own furniture
Use 2x4s. An 8 foot 2x4 is under 2 bucks at Home Depot. You can build a solid desk and leave it unfinished for 30 bucks. Compare that to $50 for the cheapest particle board you can find that wont last a year.
so im majoring in business administration information Systems.

More like dumb lies that the bourgeoises tell the proletariat to keep them poor.

It's terrible advice, and If you take it you're a fool who's destined to live a life of unfulfilling mediocrity.
- Anyone here have a successful and durable experience in forex trading ?
- What's techniques did you use ?
- With how much money did you begin ?
- Gives me advice for a beginner like me, please.
I am really sad when i read specialized forums in forex, why?
Because all the trading journal I read ends the same way :
They end up losing all their gains and have their account to 0 dollars, after 6 months or 1 year.
I need testimonials from people who really live forex successfully since several years.
http://forums.babypips.com/newbie-island/70214-truth-about-forex-you-cant-become-rich.html
I think this method is the best to learn forex or index cfd:
Depositing tiny amount less than € 200 and try to make it grow until 1000, once in 1000 reached 900 withdraw.
With the remaining € 100, try to grow them again to € 1,000, remove 900 ... etc.
Do it 10 times successfully
Instead of dropping € 50,000, losing after six months, redeposit € 20,000 and lose again after one week.
have an early bump for some dank indicators/strategies/experiences/insights bruh
>>1108355
>I think this method is the best to learn forex or index cfd:
you need an edge, that is the important thing... whether you lose 50k from one deposit or lose it multiple small deposits you're still losing money... it isn't going to help much without an edge, you're still going to lose money in the long run just you'll lose it slowly if trading at a smaller size
>>1108355
You make this thread over and over. I run risk management for a small-cap manufacturer. You know what forex is for? It's for billion-dollar MNC's to hedge against currency and inflation risk in thier other dealings. They DO NOT make a profit.
You want to retail trade? Here's a metaphor for you: there are 10 ww2 destroyers in a circle, all firing on each other. A-10's are flying around overhead, trying to pick off anything they can. You're in the middle, hanging off a buoy with one hand, trying to skip pebbles with the other. You make a profit if one of your pebbles skips half a mile into a hole in the hull of one of the ships.
I'm involved in a team developing a new messaging app.
Our main problem is that people who register in our app just go after some time. We've been thinking on the solution, but did not figure out any good solution.
So we decided to investigate how other messengers got popular. It's quite obvious about WhatsApp, but what's the thing with the others (Viber, Kik)? If we do the same, we could gain some userbase and money for further development.
Disclaimer, I'm not Googling anything, so I might be wrong when typing this out of memory.
>MSN
It was early in the game.
>Hi5/Bebo
Social media with photos, later losing to Facebook.
>Myspace
Similar to Hi5 and Bebo, but had something to do with music.
>Skype
This was the first "conference" messenger in the 00's era, allowing Online Multiplayer gaming and talking at the time.
>Viber
"So, now that we all have 3G and it's possible to communicate on the internet, how come there isn't a standard platform to do so internationally, free?"
>Snapchat.
Self-deleting nudes.
>KIK
Permanent nudes.
>Tinder
Hook ups and shit.
>Grindr
Gay Tinder
It's obvious apparently.
Anyway, OP, when your "business idea" is something that exists, you want to make it a combination of 3 things:
1. Better.
2. Less expensive.
3. Different.
Especially important is #3, why would people switch for no reason when what exists is already fine? You sound like one of those "It's like facebook, but ____________________________ and we charge for it."
>>1104401
Ask yourself why anyone would choose your product over the others (Kik and viber, for example).
>>1104401
If you're being paid in "stock" or being promised proper payment once the app goes big then gtfo of there and get a better job.
There's hundreds of teams like yours that are trying to become the next whatsapp, but whatsapp isn't going anywhere.
I want in on the Ethereum shit but I have no knowledge on crypto currencies. /biz/ always tells me to buy bitcoin but I always avoided it because it seemed complicated. I also tried years ago and didn't understand it.
Firstly what is the difference between bitcoin and ethereum? Is Ethereum something to do with bitcoin or is it a totally seperate crypto currency of its own?
Secondly how do I get a wallet and buy them and all the other basic stuffs?
pls
>>1113713
Oh you...
10/10 thread OP
Well first of all, Ethereum is a seperate and more advanced cryptocurrency to bitcoin. Some call it bitcoin 2.0
You can get a wallet by either downloading the mist wallet beta or by using a paper wallet generated at myetherwallet.com
To buy ETH easily you will need to obtain bitcoin first, use loacalbitcoins to do so quickly.
Then you can use shapeshift.io to convert to ETH quickly or you can sugn up for poloniex or kraken crypto exchanges.
>>1113729
thanks m8
ive decided to just buy a btc and play around with the whole thing to try and understand it.
does it matter what type of wallet you get or are all bitcoin wallets the same?
Despite banks not being open on Sundays, why don't ACH/Transfers proceed as normal? It's called Automated Clearing House for a reason.
Genuinely curious.
>>1113396
I've always wondered this as well
>>1113396
Because they can get away with it. Niggers hardly keep the buildings opened during normal hours anyways.
likely technological limitations, sure it would be possible but it would just be too expensive. there would need to be a major increase in demand for 7 day processing.
when you're dealing with a system as large as ACH you're going to be working with some of the biggest databases in the world, and those databases are business critical so they can't be neglected.
generally backups and such are done in nightly batch cycles, but all the maintenance and updates happens over the weekend.

Is it possible to run a successful coffee house in today's market in the USA alone (I mean literally run it as a sole proprietor but file as an LLC)?
I just want to live in a semi-populous area somewhere in Colorado, Northern NY (prefer this to be honest), and live in a decent sized apartment upstairs with a coffee house below. Is it possible? I'm 19 years old and wanted to do this because
1) I love coffee, and don't mean that in a meme way, take pride in my brew.
2) Wanted a steady source of income without having to work for someone else while I continue my prosthesis research in University.
I'm capable of making a business plan but have no idea how to conduct market analysis or anything like that, don't even know if its needed. Of course I'd do the obvious check the local scene, have a target demographic, I'd want to make it a homey place that isn't too edgy (hipster tier, a lot of these places claim to use recycled materials as furniture and art, and act like its a good thing, these places look like fucking garbage). I know it won't be easy, this would mean attending to it by myself, working well over 40 hours a week, as I make more money and develop steady customers, maybe I could hire a barista or an administrative assistant part time.
As for money, right now I'm working a job as soon as I get out of mandatory outpatient therapy. Priority is 1>mental health 2>physical health 3>job, save money 4>school, biomed engineering minor in business admin 5>coffeehouse while doing research when possible
>>1112983
short answer? nope
long answer? hell no.
>>1112986
Well an answer is a decent start.
Could I please have a short explanation? Something tells me I should keep my coffee brewing as a really intense hobby and focus on my prostheses.
>well over 40 hours a week

I want to sell some stickers online for $2 a pop. I just want a simple website where users land from an ad, click a big picture of the sticker, pick quantity then pay. I can hangle setting up the website, getting the stickers, etc. My ROI looks great on paper after those expenses.
But I'm getting fucking killed on accepting credit cards. The fees would eat 50% or more of my margin. Anyone know some good merchant solutions for something as small as this?
PayPal?

Hey guys, so young fagg here, I'm freshly enlisted in the marines out of high-school and just inherited 100,000k. I've always had it in my mind to do 20 years in the marines then retire using them benefits(inb4 welfare queen) anything I can incest that much money into that would be safe and not fucked by inflation by the time I get out?
>>1111417
If you want a non-meme answer, just get a bunch of 10-year maturity T-bill bonds before you ship out and you will make a nice sum by the time you finishing massacring mudslimes
>>1111417
>anything I can incest that much money into that would be safe and not fucked by inflation
Well, you can incest it into your mom, but she'd probably inflate.
Joking aside, if you invest in index funds (which roughly means you invest in every business on that stock market) then it should grow along with the market. So it would retain it's value.
>>1111438
>invest in index funds
Low risk investing for dummies. Good idea.
I'm not calling OP dumb, but if I was preoccupied for the next 20 years, I probably wouldn't have the resources to learn the finer workings of investing. If I was in his shoes, I'd invest in an index fund.

Need a german /biz bro. I need a definition (not from the books, but your own) of Ausgabe/Aufwand and Einnahme/Ertrag.
>>1113670
I'm not German but Dutch. But this is how it sounds to me.
Uitgave = ausgabe = edition / giving out
Inname = einnahme = taking in
Aufwand sounds like effort.
Ertrag sounds like yield.
But that is just my gut feeling.

Why is crowdfunding more successful than venture capital?
Shouldn't expectations of profit in case of VC get more capital to firms than just people liking the idea and contributing their money, often without expecting a profit?
>>1113544
Where are you getting your information?
>>1113549
This... OP please research just a little before making a post.
I can believe it. The past few years VC has been throwing money at everything hoping for a billion dollar buy out and not worried about that pesky thing of having a product. While with Kickstarter, people obviously are willing to buy it.
