Would you prefer a house or an apartment?

In my humble opinion, an apartment in the city center is much better investment than a house in a shitty remote neighborhood.

Those old eastern european houses look comfy as fuck.
>>
>>1139374
Sure, unless you happen to buy an apartment next to a borderline retarded neighbor whose favorite things in life are loud bassy music and parties at all hours of the day and week. Oh, and his only mode of communication is shouting. That's my experience with an apartment so far.
>>
>>1139374
In terms of an investment, a house is a far better investment, as you're buying more land.

An apartment in a multi-level building is a terrible investment. Price doesn't go up very fast, and you're stuck paying fees forever.

I need to take home $90K/year (post tax) in order to meet my life goals. What is this pre tax and what jobs out there should I study for? I assume meeting this goal would be easy if I married somebody but I highly doubt I will ever find a financially responsible woman with the same goals and hobbies as me. I live in Washington state.

Good evening (Dutchfag here), Gentlemen.

I've been lurking and lurking, rarely replying on anything posted here - mostly because its all quite weak minded stuff (exceptions excluded, there are some true bro's here who gove solid advice every now and then).

But, since all this 'Eth' stuff, there is only one thing I can see as a reason for all the 'hype' about this coin/platform.

I say 'hype', because as a (big) data analyst/reputation manager (involves loads of measuring and research - if done well), there is no hype to be found - at all. Cucks can find this fact (!) out for themselves by simply comparing the 'real' hyped coins (BTC) and its hype-history what some on /biz are claiming to be a hype, or better said 'a populair coin that is rising (to the moon, etc.)' by checking Google Trends.

Except owning some BTC myself (yes, from way back in the day) and getting some Eth recently (just in case, you might know the feeling), I know very little to nothing about these digital currencies. Trading is right down my lane, so that part is no mystery for me.

So, some things came to mind whilst gathering some interest and information in these currencies (especially Eth) and why people here are so focussed on (what appears to be) a dream ("what if it goes like BTC", and so on).

1) In order to get Eth, you need BTC.

As an 'outsider', I look at this as a classic, yet very basic, marketing-tactic for BTC. I've seen that Eth will be able to get by other payment forms in the future, but when will this be? If anyone could clear that up, it might help to better understand Eth's possibilities and eliminate the idea that it's been called to live to pump up BTC.

2) Eth is a complete mystery (to newbies).

I still can't wrap my head around this, but putting some autistic feller on stage 'trying to explain' what Eth is, was the worst mistake - ever. This gives me two conclusions;

- It's not their first and most definitely not their last (huge) mistake.
- They have no idea how to market their coin/platform - which is worrying to say the least.

To me, the only logical outcome when I combine 1) + 2) = disaster for Eth (it won't reach the masses this way) and it's actually possible (according to the above assumptions) that this is basically a thing to pump up BTC.

If you understand the above, do you agree that Eth is simply made to pump up BTC or not? Please elaborate your answers and have this sorted out, once and for all.

>If you understand the above, do you agree that Eth is simply made to pump up BTC or not?
no, because eth is a competitor with btc. eth isn't pumping up btc it's taking from btc capital.

anyway, more exchanges are adding eth so you don't even need btc to get it anymore

Thanks for replying!

Sounds interesting, any idea where I can purchase Eth with lets say Euro's?

And what do you think about the fact that it's still quite vague what Eth actually is?

>Haroun has taken the lessons he’s taught at universities in the past and condensed them into one course that he describes as “an entire MBA.” Through the class students will learn macro and micro economics, how to value companies, and the basics of how investment banks and management consulting firms work. In addition to the nuts and bolts, Haroun aims to teach his students about the importance of personal connections and professional presentation: how to identify and pitch venture capitalists and communicate your ideas clearly and concisely.

>The class, which usually runs for $299, is currently available for just $19 for any budding business students out there, just use the code MARCHINSIDER at checkout. The deal is good through the end of February. If you want to gain a foundational knowledge of the business world before setting off to start a company, find funding, and eventually go public, this might be a good place to start.

What do you guys think about this?

redpill me on ethereum.

i used to come every now and then to /biz/ and i saw normal stuff, now it's like the mods stickied 4 threads about ehtereum with shills and haters making threads about it every minute.

i haven't heard about it prior to finding out about it on /biz/. i looked into it and it seems pretty legit altough it looks like many people can and will scam you.

so if anyone cares to explain, how do you buy ethereum and how well do you think it will. to me it seems volatile, but i think it will continue rising.

lel

buy it on kraken, you can do it via bank transfer, it's legit.

will it go up? who knows, it just peaked for the third time, this time at $13/ETH, but its facing resistance and falling slightly. ETH has no realistic large-scale purpose, its just another memecoin/niche tech and the price is pumped by speculators. it can collapse any moment when the hysteria dies. but this also means the price can explode if theres more hysteria/propoganda

Was looking up investments the other day and came across these and was just wondering what sort of money could you make on these or well I should say what sort of % return rate could you expect to see.
ALso whats the min time you should use these ones for ?

Im 27 and I was thinking of getting 2 or maybe 3 different ones.
One of them to cash out hopefully by the time im 30 so I can buy a house and the other one to cash out when im like 60.

I have only really started looking up little bits the other week about stocks and investments so Im still learning.

Another question I have £500 in premium bonds what I bought like 10 years ago,ive only won money from it twice )I think £50 each does any one know if its worth adding more money to this ? its a crap investment but itss one of them things where its just sitting there and if I was in need of emergency money its tucked away safe.Ive never really needed that £500 so thats why it has just been left there.

1.35% returns, below infation rate for pretty much every year over the last 30 except 2015. (pic related)
You're literally relying on the "prizes" to make any kind of ROI.
Might as well "invest" in Euromillion tickets.
Pro-tip: The word premium is used to market subpar products, regardless of product type.

Is Finance basically a scam?

What's the point of Hedge Funds, Private Equity, etc where no one really knows what they're doing and generally perform below or at best at how much you'd make just dollar cost averaging into the s&p?

What is really even the point of majoring or studying Finance then?

Finance is just the means by which we try to allocate capital efficiently. It underpins essentially all human endeavors, which is why for example congress has so much power in the US.

>Finance is just the means by which we try to allocate capital efficiently.

Wouldn't that be economics rather than Finance?

Overall the Finance industry seems like one big scam. Giving your money to a bunch of retards who don't know more than you but can draw fancy graphs and pretend to know a lot in order to pay abysmal fees seems retarded.

Why do people fall for this?
>>
finance is subset of economics.

2 main fields: asset pricing and corporate finance.

finance people try to answer questions like 'how much interest should I charge you for a loan of size X?'

It's not trivial brah.

Hi /biz/

I'll make it quick, I got mild autism and I live in a truck camper to save money I want to do pic related but with me buying a house and building these kits I saw on alibaba for 7500. I've been very frugal to set on this venture. But every real estate agent tries to get me to buy a house that doesn't allow it. What are some filters I can use to bypass the deed restricted Cucks so I can make a cash flow property out of my house. I work as a maintenance man so I think it's kinda smart. I don't get how I buy property but some 70 year old fuck face is telling me what I can do with it. Thank you, God bless.

I don't know the answer, but /biz/ is a slow board, so don't worry if nobody answers immediately. I'm interested in the same idea, so I will be checking on this thread in the morning.

I'm sure you guys get this question all the time, and I'm sorry, but I was wondering how to get into making money off stocks. I have absolutely zero knowledge on the topic. Where would you suggest I start reading?

Hi, I rarely post but I will help you. Don't try to make money off of stocks. Do not try. The gist is that no one can predict shit. The best strategy is to invest in index funds (I.e. a bit in everything) but I haven't looked at those closely.

Rule one of the investing industry is to use someone else's money. Always remember this.
>>
>>1138632
Step1: Completely ignore this guy

Step 2: spend 50% of your investment budget on a number of energy stocks with better than industry average debt to equity ratio (D/E) now

Step 3: spend the next 30% in 3 installments over the next 3 months, buying the same stocks in equal 10% amounts. This will protect you from a sudden downswing

Step 4: keep the last 20% in cash and be ready to use it if you see an incredibly undervalued deal that you must act on fast, so as not to be foiled by clearing periods

Step 5: wait two years and profit big time
