Prepaid debit cards usually charge service fees. Not worth it.
>>1851376
every card does to someone in some form.
it all comes back to you in the end.
I personally use bluebird. Its a great service. You cant use it with things like acorn and robinhood though.
So if you need something simple without too much bullshit, its a good luck
One more thing, It could just be my area, but its difficult to deposit cash into this damn thing. Either direct deposit or from another card, otherwise shit youre out of luck. Again could just be my area
talking about bluebird specifically. 8.5/10 service. Autism.
What does /biz/ think of the gambling/resort industry right now?
I'm thinking about initiating a position in a few casino stocks. The Japanese legalization of casino gambling in December and Macau seems to be improving from its turbulent performance over the past two years. I think Las Vegas will keep pushing along and the instability over the Philippines' online gambling regulations will blow over.
The biggest threat to this position, at least in the United States, seems to be the threat of more deportations. How many resort/casino employees are illegals and would this have a significant impact on share prices for casino/resort companies
Stocks:
-Wynn Resorts (WYNN)
-Las Vegas Sands (LVS)
-Melco Crown (MPEL)
-MGM Resorts (MGM)
-Vali Resorts (MTN)
-Ameristar Casino (ASCA)
ETFs:
-VanEck Vectors Gaming ETF (BJK)

It's going to go bottom up once all the boomers die
>>1851329
Why?
The conventional view seems to be that Las Vegas was stagnant and Macau was supposed to be the future, until Las Vegas kept chugging along and Macau took a nosedive. As the Chinese middle class grows, shouldn't visitation at Macau increase thus offsetting the potential decline at Vegas?
Im pretty broke rn and want to learn how to invest in penny stocks or something so i can make a little money and learn something at the same time

The rocket boosters have been engaged. Eth is the next btc.
Bon voyage no coiners.
>>1851256
I hope (((they))) start doing some cool stuff with eth like putting a chip in us so we never lose our stash so to speak with a back up at a chip bank or something. Something so small it would be no more invasive than a needle prick.
Buy and hold buy and hold and watch the madness all the way to the top.
>>1851264
The powers that be have been pushing electronic money for years. They'll probably have injected wallets so to speak. And with smart contracts they'll put a contract on your chip implant when you're born between you and the government. If you break their terms they'll have means to...terminate the contract if you know what I mean.
Hey /biz/, what's a site similar to GoFundMe but anonymous? I saw someone on another board mention you could set up some shit with bitcoin to be similar to the GoFundMe platform, but they didn't go any further in-depth. I need to help a friend out on a GFM-esque platform but don't want it to be connected to my offline identity.

hey im just getting out of college and want to start investing. i have heard of apps like robinhood and betterment that you can use on your apps and am considering using one of these. Any advice/pros/cons/warnings would be really helpful.
also general investing thread
Robinhood is fine. I've used it for awhile. It's just buying/selling stock. Don't buy shitty stock, invest in kneepads, etc
>>1851154
Betterment has pretty high fees making it a site for retards. Find a good value broker in your country and set up a savings account that buys an accumulating MSCI/Dow Jones/Whateverthefuck World ETF every month at a portion of your disposable income. Done. Everything else is retarded as fuck.
>>1851827
Betterment's fees are pretty tiny actually. Isn't it like .3% annually?
And free if you deposit $100 per month?
ROBinhood app is the shit! Without fees, you can literally but a single share of $2 stock just to get your feet wet. You can buy and sell this single stock for free, meaning you could keep your entire percentage.
I used to use TdAmeritrade's $7 trades... a single buy/sell transaction cost $14!!!
Hello /biz/
I am currently withdrawing from heroin and have been awake for the last 50+ hours sweating up a storm with racing thoughts. That aside, I have managed to reflect quite a bit on life from an entrepreneurial/success perspective and think I have had somewhat of an epiphany.
Pretty much every "great" thing involves networking and knowing the right people. While it is certainly possible to just quietly sit by yourself in your room and devise various business plans, it simply doesn't pan out like that in the real world for some reason. And even if you aren't the creator of said idea, can you count how many people you know that are complete shit heads but have somehow ended up in good life positions simply from knowing the right people?
Even if you do execute an idea yourself, it's still possible to align yourself with the right people and potentially draw ideas or steal their ideas entirely for your own benefit.
I suppose my point is that it's time to stop being autistic and isolated. It's time to go out and actually talk to some people. I'll probably start going to some entrepreneurial meetups/social groups soon. I am sure most people there are stupid - but maybe I am lucky and will find that one motivated guy/gal (lol who are we kidding, obviously its a guy) that might be the winning ticket.
Pic unrelated
>>1851146
Well, op to tell you the truth it is super possible to find people, the problem is that people will not share with you their success. You
>>1851146
Holy shit, is pic related for real? Anything have a link to the article?
>I've come to realize it's not what you, but who you know that's important
It took you becoming addicted to heroin to have that great realization?
Three weeks ago, I started learning everything I could about bitcoin. I ran $1 "through" the system, one exchange to cold storage another exchange and back to my bank, a few times.
I briefly ran a node.
I read everything I could about the protocols technical specifications.
I read about the ETF. I read about the Winklevii. I read interviews and pieces on them.
I spent all of Friday watching bitcoin news, forums and exchanges. After the ETF was declined I watched the price action and mempool.
Last night I dreamt that I was staying at Winklevoss brothers' home. They live together, of course.
Breddy cool guys, we had a good time. However, they received news that they weren't going to get an expected multi-million-dollar payment, and it deeply upset them. I tried to console them but they said "THAT'S THE ONLY REASON YOU'RE HERE." They didn't kick me out though.
I think it's a good thing the ETF was denied.
i didnt feel good about it at the time, but i think so too.
I dont even want op to kill herself. She should be studied. Raped too, but studied after.
>>1851163
I'm a dude.
What makes you think I would kill myself?
I live in the deep south of the US of A. It sucks here and I would like to make it a little better. Since there is nothing to do around here, people like to drink. I was thinking of starting a bar-arcade. I'm in IT and have been a contractor my whole life, so I understand business at it's base.
How much investment capital would I need to start an arcade bar? I doubt I would have any issue getting people to show up, I'm more concerned with how much of a loan it would take to : get liquor license, buy arcade machines, get a building, buy all the alcohol, and hire employees. Anyone have any idea? I was thinking It would probably take 450k.
>>1851098
That sounds like too much. You only have to lease those things not buy. You do have to buy the liquor. You can temp or 1099 some of the employees until you start getting ROI. You should check out the lease rates in your area. You may have to make some leasehold improvements though.
>>1851098
How is a bar going to make things better? Sounds like a decent idea to make money but come on.
>>1851131
Entertainment. There literally is none. So an arcade bar would do well in my area. Bonus points if I can host card tournaments and things like that in my building for the MTG crowd.
Where can a minor sell items without parental consent/signature?
>>1851057
Anywhere, just don't say you're a minor.
The internet?
If you've got to ask the question it means you're not web smart enough to find the answer on google. If you're not web smart enough to use google you don't have the smarts to sell things covertly over the web. If you can't sell things covertly over the web you need to sell them in real life, but if you could do that you wouldn't be here asking the question. Since you don't have anyone to sell to in real life you don't have the social skills needed to get rid of whatever you're selling. There's no point in the chain where you're competent enough to do what you're trying to do in a reliable fashion.

How can I open an English bank account when I'm American?
I want to bet on English bet sites.
Get a British friend to place them for you and forward money to them on PayPal or something. You need to trust them. Offer them a small cut of any bets made. Not based on winnings.
