Dubs will take too long on this slow ass board. I suggest doing it by ending number instead

This one really was great.
RR 2015 because smarks got butthurt and needed to realize they were the audience and not the bookers. They are there to watch a show, not get buttmad the result isn't what they wanted
1992 Rumble is probably the best overall match.
Hey boxfags, can you help me tell which punches iron mike threw in this particular shadowbox?

Yo /asp/
I'm an amateur lifter, who picked up muay thai a month ago.
I took a liking to it, but I have some problems with my fundamentals, namely cardio, flexibility and balance.
I already started doing daily stretches so that should help in time, and I also go jogging at least once a week, but that will increase when spring comes around.
What I can't really think of is how to improve my balance.
Any tips/ideas you guys can share?
tl;dr: Are there any exercises I can do after my workouts to improve my balance?
>>881749
Well for kicks you could try throwing like twenty kicks with every foot, slowly and controled after every training.
>>881749
Jump rope, jump rope, jump rope.
Sup guys, long story short I'm going to be fighting in a full contact karate comp in May, and I'll be going up against some kyokushin guys so I'm just looking for some pointers in regards to exercises that can help me out over the next four months as preparation. I have gym access, if that helps.
I'm an ashihara karate ikkyu (a kyokushin offshoot) and I'm getting back into karate after being overseas for a bit.
I've also done Muay Thai, boxing and am currently training in judo/sambo.
Anyone with experience that can weigh in? I've never competed in karate before.
It's the kind that uses zero padding besides a groin guard, no hand strikes to the head, etc.
Remember to stretch.
Those head kicks require good flexibility.
Do your cardio and wear them off.
Do lots of sit-ups so that you can withstand a kick to the gut.
Poop asked me this and I'm interested to know what the current fads on /asp/ are.
At the moment, it's nothing new for me, just maintaining my old shit in my first teacher's backyard. But I'm thinking my next style will be MMA since I'm in desperate need of physical conditioning that doesn't involve some old chubby white guy who thinks he's asian yelling at you, and MMA conditioning seems god-tier.
I haven't been able to bring myself to do it thus far because I prefer pussy-ass white guys in ponytails to an overly-aggressive Chad McDudebrah as the lesser of two evils. Seriously, why does the martial arts world have one extreme or the other? I'm either training with a weeaboo faggot or a TapouT wearing faggot. I can't stand the people in this hobby, I love the activity itself but oh my god the people fucking ruin it for me.
It's either
>Power hungry, out of shape Eastern "master" who wants to be worshiped in a cult
or
>middle-aged guy who dresses like a frat boy and thinks he can be in the UFC at age 40
Can I not just get a reasonable human being with a normal ego for a person to have? What about martial arts either draws the worst people or brings out the worst in people?
Also I leave for a year and there's rasslethread shitposts EVERYWHERE. How is this much shitposting on one subject allowed? Fuck, the rasslers have gotten worse than the ponyfags, and I never thought I'd say that.
>>880575
The irony of this post.

You're right, I'm the asshole here.

ARE YOU GUYS READY FOR THE WORST RUMBLE OF THE DECADE?
What if Vince is playing us all and delivers the best rumble in ages
The last two times VKM has made a stipulation we got SS 2014 (Great match) and Roman winning on Raw (Better than anything he's ever done).
Cautiously optimistic.
Will smarks be butthurt again when Jerigoat wins the Rumble?
Best mic skills in the company?
Yes.
Best mic skills in history? Yep.
Next question.

Asked this in boxing general but figured it might be worth its own thread
I'm looking to get into boxing. I realized its important to know what to do with your hands rather than just be an idiot and start swinging. I'm a decent sized guy but I'd feel more confident if I actually knew how to strike/fight.
I'm an athletic trainer (sports medicine) so I've learned a lot about head injuries. The fear of concussions and CTE when I'm very old is magnified for me more than normal people.
Does anyone know the risk of head injuries for someone looking to get into boxing who doesn't want to be competitive? I have zero desire to ever have an amateur fight. I know sparring is required and a huge part of getting better and I can understand that. But for someone who just wants to have a grasp on defending themselves, what are my chances of suffering serious head injuries or brain injuries over time? Any advice on this topic?
My assumption is that you would be relatively safe from head injuries from recreational boxing, even if it does include sparring. But I am purely guessing and assuming and would love also love to hear from
someone who knows their shit. So -
Bump
>>880695
thanks for the bump friend.
>>880677
Casual sparring should be pretty safe, aside maybe from broken noses.
You could also look into fitness boxing. Make sure that the trainer actually does ordinary boxing lessons, as well, and knows his shit, though.
It's got a higher focus on the workout element, but still teaches you some boxing stuff.
Then again, for real self defense, boxing isn't all that useful outside of the stamina gain and the fact that you'll know how to throw a punch.
Really, learning how to throw a punch and do simple combos will take a few weeks at most. Afterwards you get dimishing returns for self-defense. Especially when you get into the habit of punching faces. That's a fucking bad idea without a glove, if you haven't already heard.
The footwork is only suited for plain surfaces.
Then again, most of the time you really only need to know how to counter a shoddy punch and knock the wind out of a fucker. Most people are not trained martial artists.
Boxing might have the real-world advantage of not being a grappling style - Very nice for if you run into an asshole and his friends. However, in a pure 1on1 grappling will be even more useful, because people generally have more of a concept of hitting things than they have of grappling. Plus, concrete is hard, so throws are nice.
