>1. Bret Hart( Wrestlemania 9, not getting his match with Hogan, the Screwjob and his entire WCW run. He kept his spot for a long time but nobody has gotten fucked over more backstage than Bret)
>2. Mick Foley (Was originally in the Wrestlemania 15 main event but then Shawn Michaels got in Vince's ear for just a 1 on 1 match. Too nice of a guy to speak up if he thought he was being treated unfairly, was only used to get others over for the majority of his career, now he's a shell of himself on weekly TV)
>3. Sting (Taken for a ride by Hogan at Starrcade and never recovered. Known as one of the nicest guys in wrestling so he never tried to fight for his spot or go against what was being booked for him. Should have been "the guy" in the 90s but got fucked and never recovered. Adding insult to injury he jobbed to HHH at Mania in a match people said he should have won then got his career ended)
>4. Shawn Michaels (Failed to stop Rocks push, failed to stop Austins rise and failed to go over Hogan years later. Got finishes changed against people like Vader & British Bulldog but couldn't go over any of the big stars when it came time. Only got one world title his entire second run)
>5. CM Punk (HHH killed his momentum in one night, never got his Wrestlemania main event, jobbed to Rock twice, Cena, and Taker in two months. Only got big victories over people like Jericho and Bryan post 2011, couldn't keep his momentum ever

Without this man the WWE would literally not exist today. It's real hip around here to say Shawn Michaels drew record low numbers during the mid 90's. Well guess what.
In his interview for the DVD, Jim Ross comments on how he shutters to think what the business would have been without HBK as the top guy during NWO's run in WCW. By all logical reasoning, at that time, WCW should have taken over WWF, but in my opinion, Shawn was the reason that didn't happen.
There you have it. WWE would have literally folded if Shawn wasn't main eventing PPV's and keeping the company afloat. You nerds don't realize how many factors go into ratings in the first place.

Just rewatched this match on the Network and it held up terribly. At the time I thought it was great mainly because of the SCM/pedigree combo and the slow pacing made built up suspense but with all of that gone now it hurts the match for me
It just seems like HHH tried to have the most "epic" and as drawn out of a match as possible to try and top Shawn. Shawn's bad acting doesn't hold up well years later either. You can say that this happens with all Taker streak matches out of the Taker matches I watched from WM20-30 this one was only better than 20 and 22. I would say this was easily the worst out of the 3 matches that HHH/Taker had at Mania and it doesn't come close to either of the Shawn matches
