Damn we were spoiled rotten back then. Because of the ratings war, almost every week you got PPV caliber match-ups and shows on regular cable. Eric was a genius from 95- early 99. Although I loved WWF too, it always pissed me off when they started winning the ratings war because they forced the business to go right back to the stupid "We're going to face off...at the pay per view. So everyone should totally wait 4 weeks to finally see it" format. Obviously the death of WCW was the end of cutting edge entertainment. Vince took wrestling right back to the homo-erotic cowboys and eye-roll inducing storylines.

But at the same time, everyone on the card had something to do and the mid card was fucking stacked. The cruiserweights were perfect, the women were mostly all hot, there were still hardcore matches, and even though the main event usually ended in interference, it didn't end up being 50/50 booking garbage and everyone still looked pretty strong. WCW at its best was the best wrestling of all time and it forced Vince to give a shit

So Styles lost, clean, for the first time in a while to someone who isn't Cena. As someone who started watching only a year ago during the Rumble, I ask you seasoned /asp/ veterans: is this being buried? Is Styles, the man who was WWE champ (seemingly most prestigious title in the company) for months and who beat Cena clean at Summer Slam (seemingly second only to Wrestlemania in terms of PPV) now relegated to losing to the likes of, say, pre-belt Kevin Owens?

Orton has a few clean wins over Cena himself so AJ losing to him despite beating Cena doesnt damage his credibility.
Just to point out, AJ lost clean to Owens before entering in the Cena program (Owens had a clean win over Cena too) and he still was able to do all of that 2016 run.
Its almost a given that he will beat Shane and move to the ME.
Though i will worry about him when he is drafted to RAW, THAT will indeed bury Styles.

When the Acolytes whooped somebody's ass backstage and it was over, they didn't do a slow-ass fade-transition to Michael Cole starting an interview with The Rock about his upcoming title match. They hard-cut to that shit.
Hard cuts between backstage segments add to the live, anything-can-happen-at-anytime feel. Slow fade transitions make it feel like we just watched Steve Urkel break something in the Winslow home, and now we're about to see Eddie Winslow ask a girl out at school
