Im making one of my spare rooms into a terrarium. Leopard geckos need uvb. should a large window suffice?
Nocturnal geckos' benefit from UVB is debateable. Typically UVB lights are not required for their care. However, ambiant lighting is important to give them a structured day/night cycle, which your window will provide no problem.
If you do wish to use a UVB lamp, choose one that is fairly low output, 5% uvb or less (it will say on the box). Put it on a twelve hour timer.

forgot to mention while ambiant light in the room is good, direct sunlight through the window on to the tank is a no no as it can cause the interior temperature to go way higher than you want. So, tank in room with window but not in the path of direct sunlight.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. The habitat to be is a 4 season gazebo that I would be happy to set up to accomodate for my new geusts. It has plenty of windows so it receives plenty of sunlight. If uvb is needed i would happily set up special lighting, but it would save me a lot of confusion if I didn't, as the scaling is weird and I don't really have the tools to measure uv light.
>this guy walks up and sniffs you gf's vagina
wat do?
SMART DOG
Sniff the dogs vagina. See how he likes it.
rub his belly because pitbulls are bros
Spiderfight-fag here. The remaining 2 spiders in my arsenol are what look to be orb weavers. I decided I would end their lives today and both of them squirted this dark black fluid out and it skidded super far. It was out of their sacs. Also there are these orange things I'm not sure what this is. Is it blood? I also tore open their sacs and it was full of un-made web, like a cum sort of look. Any who, I'm trying to find out what you he black skid marks are and what the orange shit is, thanks.

Well, are you gonna post any webms or just be a dingus?
>>2444674
Who doesn't?
>>2444674
so uh... how do they dispose of the worms afterwards anyway?
Okay /an/ I just want to stay home, smoke pot, and watch some /an/ type movies and draw my comics before I have to go back to school full time in a week. Let's list the good ones.

I get these every so often
at least it's not a fucking termite
these don't seem to do jack shit, and the males (the ones with wings) apparently don't even eat, so they at least won't bite you

Looks like a stonefly. Utterly harmless. The worst they will do is be attracted to your lights at night.
It was sold to me for 5$ in a small antique shop as fossilized wood which I am doubting do to the middle being semi-opaque. What you guys think?
Tis it in the air, thinking the inside is some sort of quartz, but honestly kinda a scrub about this
Looks like a slice of a petrified wood limb. Sometimes in fossilization certain agates fill in where the normal minerals would, maybe that bit of trunk had a huge sap deposit? but sides do look like tree bark.
Slice of petrified branch.
It fossilized upside down relative to your pictures.
The bottom (top in your picture) rotter away somewhat before becoming encased.
Mineralization progressed from the bottom and top, water seepage filtering down and pooling. The outer shell mineralized, then the remaining wood rotted completely away except for the heartwood, which rested on the bottom in the now open (though water filled) void and mineralized there.
After that point the remaining void filled with crystal growth like any geode, which gradually filled up entirely.
How are dogs so effective at recognizing other dogs?
When I take my dog in a walk, she reacts consistently to the sight of breeds that don't even resemble her (she's a labrador and immediately responds to pomeranians, German shepherds, etc.). However, if she sees something like a raccoon, she is immediately able to tell it's not a dog and starts growling. How do they do this?
The same way you do...?
truly causes one to ponder
Presumably they have enough traits in common to be easily classified as same species without putting much thought to it including smell which is distinctive enough to be often recognizable for humans who have much weaker sense of smell
Also I wouldn't say they're that good at recognizing their own species if they fuck wolves and stuff

Does anybody know what kind of rock/mineral is this?

yea iv seen this type of thing before

Probably quartz
Hey bros, i could use some advice. I live in the dorms of my university (individual apartments, pretty much line a regular apartment building) and we've been having an american cockroach problem in our kitchen.
We complained to the dorm staff multiple times, every time they send a dude who sprays some 'cide for a minute or two and fucks off,
We find dead roaches for a few days and it goes back to normal.
Due to it being the uni's property we can't call an outside exterminator, so my question is- is there any feasible way to get rid of these fuckers without professional extermination? It's fucking disgusting.

Short answer.. no
[1/3] pull all the stuff out of the cabinet under the sink and squirt pic related in all the gaps where the pipes come out of the wall. if you have a water heater in your apt, do the pipes there, too. any other gaps in the walls, plug 'em. find it at the hardware store, it is inexpensive.

is it possible to train your cat to do the heil hitler ?
>>2443573
no, my cat can't be trained.
>>2443573
cat's aren't very social and don't pick up on verbal/visual cues as well as other animals. You probably could but it'd be much easier to do it with a dog or a rat

>Nurse Sharks
>10/10 comfy factor as long as you don't literally put your hand in their mouth (I mean seriously you have to be full retard here)
>is a goddamn shark
>cozy and known to enjoy cuddles and rubs in the captivity community
>swim up like goddamn puppies when it's feeding time
>eat small fish and clams and shit
It's just a shame I'm not an eccentric billionaire with enough money to just have a 10/10 nurse shark pool in the backyard.
i want giant chinese/japanese salamander

What sort of sea creature is this?
Whale penis, possibly humpback.
If you had the biggest penis in the animal kingdom you'd show it off to.
