Hi. Birds had eggs about 20 days ago. Saw pipping on this egg 48 hours ago. Saw no progress, saw yellowish stains near pipping which according to the internet meant that the bird was choking. Thought I might have to intervene as the air in the egg had a high volume, and my room is very dry.

Opening into the air area, the membrane was dry and stuck to the chick like shrink wrap. Very thin faint blood vessels. Chick moving and chirping inside. Decided to peel the membrane and there was no bleeding at all. Only upon peeling the edges of the egg there was bleeding. (shown in picture). Im not sure what I can do to help the chick. Any advice? Right now It is on a heat pad wrapped in warm cloth, about 30 celcius, chick exposed. Its little beak is moving.

What can I do?

The life of an African Bullfrog revolves around three things:

Feeding, Fighting and Fucking

The very first thing it'll do when it wakes up from hibernation is get into a fight with the nearest male to claim all his frog bitches in the area.

Snooty (born July 21, 1948) is a male Florida manatee that resides at the South Florida Museum's Parker Manatee Aquarium in Bradenton, Florida. He is one of the first recorded captive manatee births, and at age 69, he is the oldest manatee in captivity, and likely the oldest manatee in the world.

I have family in Bradenton whom I visit now and then and as a kid, I went to that aquarium to see Snooty at least twice. The second time I got a pretty cool t-shirt with Snooty on it.

Do you think it's a lost cause trying to get my best friend to forgive me after I forgot to feed his dog for him while he was on vacation and it died? I feel honestly terrible about it. We've known each other since we were kids and he won't even speak to me now. Not sure what the best course of action is. I'm perfectly willing to compensate him a reasonable amount for the value of the dog if he's that upset about it, but it was an honest mistake.

Lots of people keep outdoor doggos and outdoor cattos. Can the same be done with other pets, like turtles and snakes?

If you keep the climate into consideration and build an enclosure that is escape proof (especially important with snakes) it should be no problem.

My tortoises are outside in the summertime
In Winter, they hibernate

Many reptiles do actually better when kept outside in natural light. But you have to keep the climate in mind, as >>2437953 said

You can't keep every reptile outside in every climate
>>
Tortoises and turtles it's highly recommended to do so if you have the climate for it. Iguanas, tegus, and monitors as well. Security is the tricky part, both to prevent escapes and to keep your pets safe from whatever local predators might be interested.

I have considered building something like a small greenhouse to keep herps in (segregated by species) during summer. I think it could work. Project for sometime down the road maybe.

Triops thread /got a question about food and eggs
Can I feed dry catfood? I looked at the incredients and ist basically the same as some fish foods, or do you guys have any recommendations.
Someone got experience how many eggs hatch without drying, is it possible to have a steady population of triops in a bigger aquarium?

Tried feeding some watermelon, melon starts to swim after a while.

Honestly they can survive perfectly fine off of nothing but carrots, no need for "fancy" pet foods. As far as I know a dry period is required for the eggs to hatch.
