I was at the pet store buying crickets, when I saw a hamster ball.

I am worried about my frog not getting enough exercise. He loves climbing all over walls. Could I put him in a small hamster ball? Has anyone tried sticking a frog in a hamster ball for excersize?

Why are animal blood sports illegal? Is it more the illegal gambling behind them, or are people actually concerned about animals?

Cock fighting is illegal in most developed countries, bullfighting is under attack, dog fighting is super illegal, and even hare coursing, letting your dog chase rabbits, is illegal in many countries.

Are these laws necessary?

Anyone know hoe to control aggression in these faggots? I had 4 many years ago, got them as juveniles, ended up getting 2 males 2 females.

I know the m/f ratio was off, but is there any other way of dulling their aggression?

I was at a local fishstore with my wife getting the fish for our new tank and saw a large tadpole in one of their tanks.

Apparently it came in with the goldfish and they didn't know what to do with it. I have had tadpoles in the past so said i would pay whatever they wanted, manager told me to take it and pay them back by giving updates on it.

Any ideas on identifying tadpoles? Pic related. It is 2-2 1/2 in long.

prolly just a bullfrog.
they're sold in fish stores in the US pretty often.

That's a bullfrog tadpole, most likely.

You'll need to keep a very close eye on your ammonia and nitrite levels. They have a low tolerance for toxins in the water.

Have you guys seen this?

http://www.ratshackforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33713&highlight=debbie

This lady has written a number of books about rats, proclaims to be an expert. Hell even I have followed a lot of her advice. Now it turns out she's been doing illegal surgeries for people, she is NOT a vet nor does she have ANY licensing...and sometimes without anaesthesia?? And when she does use anaesthesia it's isofluorane on a cotton ball apparently.

This is absolutely out of control, I am floored.

She was kicked out the World Pet Expo this weekend because of it...

This is absolutely insane. I thought this woman was a responsible rat fancy woman...apparently not so much!!

You can find her on soacial media, she owns the Rat Fan Club group...18,000 people follow her. It just seems so freakin odd!!

Cute rat for attention.

Um. What? If she's doing it without anaesthesia, they are most definitely conscious. Not sure what you mean lol

Is it possible that bettas are territorial because we've accidentally bred them this way by keeping them in tiny cups their entire lives? Think of how many generations of bettas have been bred and kept in tiny cups. You would be aggressive and territorial too if you were kept in a closet your whole life and then expected to share a big room with a bunch of other people. I can't help but to feel that we're to blame.

bettas were bred for fighting, to be aggressive and territorial.
Like roosters for rooster fights or Pokemon.

No. They're naturally territorial in the wild. Also wild bettas don't look anything like the bettas we buy in stores.

yes, but they won't fight till death.

I feel like /an/ won't mind if I dump pics and gush over this guy.

I adopted him noon today. He got along great with my bf's dog, he's a 2 year old healthy Irish Wolfhound supposedly Great Pyrenees mix, but I'll leave that judgement to you guys (and the vet). His shelter name is Amos which I'm thinking of keeping cuz it sounds fine with Reptar. Other options aren't sticking as well, Rufus, Scruffy, Bear, Sully, Maccon, meh.

He's such a sweet, well mannered gentle giant. I'm so happy I scooped this one up ;-; he heels when on leash and is super gentle on walks, he leans against you to be pet, he's perfect.

tl;dr I'm excited and want to show off new pup

I need some help on this one because I am totally perplexed on how this happened. Is this what a chewed collar looks like?

Before leaving for work this morning, I couldn't find my house key. It fell off the key ring the night before

I live in a pretty big complex, lots of apartments so I think to myself, "you can leave the door unlocked, what are the chances"

I also have a Siberian Husky that I leave out all day.

Come home from work and find her collar severed.

Doesn't look like it has been chewed (but not ruling it out)

Nothing in the apartment is touched. Nothing is out of place.

I tried pulling the collar apart, no dice.

I cut another part with scissors, looks a little cleaner.

Seriously anons what is going on?

Pic related, I will upload more.

Hamsters. My sister got two dwarf hamsters, a male and a female for her birthday - they were pretty chill for a while, but recently one of them (the male, I assume) started to become really aggressive. Whenever you try to touch him he tries to bite immediately, and I often hear them fighting and squeeking. The other one is already injured too, and they stopped sleeping together. What's wrong with him? Do we have to just separate them? Or is this their mating ritual?

I don't know shit about hamsters, and it's pretty obvious my sister doesn't either, but our rooms are next to each other and the constant squeeking is getting annoying.

Hamsters are not social creatures. Either those two will kill each other or breed and kill the babies and then kill each other.
>>
>>2045177
hamsters are solitary animals, seperate them immediately
>>
>>2045177
get a second cage and separate them or return the aggressive one to the store.
