This is my cat Nero.
Today he was behind the couch laying really flat and looking scared.
When I pulled the couch out he ran under my bed.
He won't even come out for treats which he prior to today he was flat out addicted to.
I'm gonna take him to the vet but do you have any idea whats wrong?
We put on him flea drops 2 days ago, frontline plus I believe.
Could that be it?

Honestly, I don't think he needs to go to the vet unless the behavior persists. Something could have just startled him and he's hiding from it. Neighbor could have made a loud noise when you weren't paying attention and it freaked him out.

Centipedes. They are always active, nervous and fast, and can literally sense you through walls. I wouldn't want to be chased by one.
Jellyfish. A simple organism with sometimes lethal dosage of venom. And the thing is, they can't move on their own. I had to deal with a swarm when I went SCUBA diving. It was a miracle that I didn't get stung.

Are Caterpillars and Butterflies the same living creature?
I was watching a David Atattenborough documentary on flying creatures and he mentioned something about butterflies that got me thinking.
Are they the same living creature? You hear about the story of the caterpillar turning into a beautiful butterfly but I always imaged the metamorphosis would be like a pokemon evolving or a digimon digivolving.
But reading up on it seems the caterpillar dies and another living creature the butterfly is born from it's corpse like a phoenix.
I am not sure what to think it seems to be both , what does /an/ think?
Are they both the same living creature do they share the same brain or if they had souls the same soul?

I'm thinking of owning a coyote and I'd like to hear about /an/'s experiences with such a project.
I know it's become somewhat of a new trend to take wounded, injured, rehabbed coyotes and adopt them as you would a dog (with the proper attention of course). I have an opportunity to take ownership of a ~2yr old coyote that got trapped in a chicken coop a month ago. By all accounts the people who to this day have the coyote think it's done a reasonable job of adapting and even befriending their dog (not the cat though).
tldr; I want to buy this coyote off these people and raise him as a dog. Any advice?

I wouldn't ever let it near the cat or your kid, unless your kid is old enough to take explicit directions from you and knows how to read canine body language.

If you really want a coyote your very best chance is getting a young pup. Actually I think getting a wolf or fox pup would be slightly better dude (but they're all shit pets)
You can't keep it inside or it will pee and destroy everything. Think of it as being in a zoo, not your companion, especially an adult. I don't know if neutering would help

I got my kitten (Henry) who is about 4 maybe almost 5 weeks old this past Thursday and he hasn't pooped yet. I stimulates his anus and genitals and he usually pees but has not pooped. He still almost exclusively bottle feeds compared to his sister (Freya) from the same litter who is pooping and peeing by herself and is eating about 50/50 bottle fed and wet food. Can any anons give me any ideas as to what's going on? Pic is of Henry on right looking small and Freya left looking healthy as he'll.
