Hey /an/ I recently got some bearded dragons as a gift but ive never owned one before, do any of you guys have any tips or advice I could use to take care of them?
>Aspen chips
>heat pad and lamp
>horn worms every now and then
>head pats
>gift
Yikes. OP, look up 'bearded dragon care sheet' and read a few. Correct the things that are wrong about your tank.

>Aspen chips
No. Not for bearded dragons. Use paper towel, ceramic/slate tiles, or those exo terra desert mats.
>heat pad and lamp
No heat pad. 1 basking light and 1 UVB light.

>some bearded dragons
Oh shit. Please tell me you don't have multiple in one tank.
I need help. Visited my parents house and there are millions of these bugs crawling around in their backyard. What are they?
Another picture
some sort of bug
just recently got stung by a wasp and a bunch of other bumps came up. can you guys tell me what these are?
>>2461595
These are just larvae embedded in your skin. Don't worry, once they have finished their metamorphosis they'll come flying out.
>>2461597
I remember when this happened to me. It hurt like a bitch because half of dont even come out they just sting again you while inside your skin and you have to dig them out later
Seriously though it might be an alergic reaction go see a doctor
>>2461635
it was weird because it didn't hurt. it was only a very light stinging sensation but i'll try to see a doctor or something.

Discuss anything aquarium related here, including inhabitants, decor and issues.
Google is your friend.
Feel free to ask questions but know that there are a lot of resources out there that could answer your question a lot faster and accurately than /an/.
Make sure to include these things in your post before asking because we can't help you if we don't have the full picture:
-tank size (include dimensions, not just volume)
-parameters (ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, pH, GH, KH)
-any and all inhabitants + how long you've had them

Adding anything that will stay in the water column will raise the TDS. Compare the TDS of your aquarium and tap water.
My baby Kangal is 2 months old (pic related). Any other Kangal owners here on /an/ ?
Oh.
>>2461485
The dozens of owners of a single uncommon breed that hang out on this one anime image board should be chiming in any minute
>>2461880
I've been looking into these as a livestock guardian and I could have sworn more than one anon has posted about their anatolians before. There was also that one Turk that liked to spam them.
Not dozens, but we have a handful that at least like a single uncommon breed.
>Dog, Ebony, lived with us for nearly 12 years
>Has become extremely old and grey
>Ebony's arthritis in knees and hips got extremely bad
>Dog Has horrible balance and loves to be comforted but can hardly stand being held, hugged, or played with
>Only way to deal with it was to walk it off or sleep through it, 24/7
>Has been the daily routine for three months
>During one of her good days, entire family went out for a few hours to deal with family business
>Came home, Ebony not there to greet us
>Must be sleeping
>Check her doggy bed, not there
>Looking in the usual sleeping spots when there's a scream in the kitchen
>Freezer was wide open and ice cream melted all over the floor
>Cartons all chewed open
>Interestingly, only chocolate-flavored ice cream was completely eaten
>Sticky trail leading to a sick Ebony
>Hours leading afterward were not pretty
>Whining dog and diarrhea
>The next day, Ebony was found lifeless
>Everyone in tears
>First time dealing with death
>Dealt with it by distracting myself
>Videogames for hours
>Finally, time to sleep
>First time to really think all day, when it dawned on me
>Ebony's last meal was Death by Chocolate ice cream
how did she get the freezer open?
>>2461467
what if the freezer opened by itself, stop blaming the dog ffs
>He doesn't know chocolate stops a dogs heart because of the theobromine in it.
BIG
BLACK
CATS
how can little white kittens even complete?
>>2461410
>different species of big cats can have melanism
>call them all black panthers
>even if they don't form part of the panthera genus
>>2461410
This thread better have both.

I want a black cat.
Yuropean here, I remember, especially in my childhood, these bugs used to be everywhere, especially near water sources, but I realized I haven't seen one in years.
Am I the only one who noticed this?
They like certain trees and will be more around when you had non-harsh winter.
and they amass only a day to a week so you could just have missed them
i have seen these this year
Milkweed bugs. Everywhere in virginia now. Plant some milkweed.
Hey /an/ I was wondering if anyone on here is allergic or knows if anyone who has allergies to dogs. More particularly Labrador retrievers, as my boyfriend breaks out in a rash whenever my chocolate lab touches or licks him. However, when he is with other dogs such as his sister's Jack Russell or his friend's rescue dogs he does not itch or break out.
So I was wondering if it's possible he may be allergic to my lab's oily coat? I've bathed my dog to see if it was because of dirt or something but he still gets itchy and breaks out into little rashes whever he gets touched.
He loves my dog and still plays, wrestles, and lets him lick him, but he gets pretty uncomfortable around him. Does anyone have any experience with this or what could be causing his reaction?
One dogs dander isnt the other. He is most likely allergic to the dead skin cells and different dogs can have different levels of allergen in them.
Saliva can be part of it too.
He could get antihistamines but i dont know to what extend it may work.
Just clean and vacuum a shitload so he doesnt get sore from being in contact with clothing/furiture your dog has been.
Ps
Doesnt depend on breed but the specific dog
>>2461520
That sounds reasonable, as my dog's skin does run a little dry and can flake.
i guess it's just an unhappy circumstance that of all the dogs he could be allergic to, it had to be mine. I'll look into antihistamines too, I was really hoping his reactions would go away as he got used to the dog I guess but it's been over a year and he still breaks out.
I appreciate the response!
>>2461304
It's not that unusual to be allergic to chocolate.
What animal do you think you were in your past life, /an/?
Pic related. I honestly don't even like wolves. I'm as impartial to them as I am to humans, which I can't say for any other animal.
nah, you were probably a slug or a mollusc or something equally retarded.
>>2461301
So what were you, since you believe in reincarnation too.
>>2461301
Each one of us is at a least partial physical reincarnation of any and all carbon-based life before us tbqh
what is this its at the bottom of my plant pot?
it's fresh parmesan cheese, didn't you know that's how they make it? grate it onto your favorite pasta, it's a real treat when it's that fresh
>>2461279
oh thanks man, put it on some right now
I'm writing a story using an allegory of circus animals to portray humans. Can I please get some trivia and shit so that the story'd look halfway true to those that actually know about stuff like this?
I imagine the story takes place maybe in the 1940s or 50s or something.
I'll give some questions to give a direction to the thread, but really feel free to just post anything; any stories or factoids or whatever. Maybe even videos and documentaries.
>were the animals kept in cages during offtime?
>what kinds of animals have been used in circuses?
>how big have been the biggest circuses?
>what are the stuff animals have performed over time?
>were they bred in captivity or were some straight from nature and trained?
>how often did accidents involving mauling or whatever happen?
>have there been any famous accidents in circuses?
>how did the circus animals differ from their wild counterparts? like did they suffer from some specific diseases, conditions and such? stereotypy is one I'll definitely make use of
etc
thanks
why don't you do your own fucking research, retard.

really nice dog, 10/10
Your pets can also suffer permanent eye damage during today's solar eclipse. It's ideal to get them inside if possible, away from direct sight.
>implying any animals will have an inclination to stare at the sun
>>2461246
Just give them some of those eclipse glasses. Duct tape won't pull out fur as long as you don't stick it on too tight.
>>implying any animals will have an inclination to stare at the sun
Where the fuck can I get a cute puppy for like £300 in London?
