It's a katydid and yeah, your hand's kinda weird. Leave it in a bush or on some plant somewhere and it'll be fine.

You didn't put the best option on there, fag.

what is weight of your leopard geckos? my male weights 100g, that is a lot i think

Around 70g-90g is average for an adult. 120g+ is not that unusual for captive bred leos though.

unless the fox ancestors has been breed to be domesticated for generations your new "pet" will make your life a nightmare and once you decide to put at end to it you'll have to options: kill it quickly or let it die slowly

Northeast US bros should be checking milkweeds for Monarch butterfly caterpillars right now. They are everywhere.

Found 5 so far, but hopefully many more in the field by my house
>>
for what purpose should we be finding these caterpillars? i mean yeah i remember it being cool to see them turn into a chrysalis and come out of it back in 4th grade, but is there any reason to be taking them out of the wild?
>>
>>2464181
Find them because they're nifty.

I wouldn't want to take them away from where they are because I'd get too nervous about giving them the right conditions. It's just cool to find them.

Hey /an/ can we have some success stories? Happy endings?
I've been fostering for a while now and lost my first animal We picked up a five week old kitten yesterday and she was so badly infested with fleas she was dehydrated and anemic. We got an emergency vet appointment for her but she didn't make it.
We took her remaining litter mate earlier today, he's quite anemic and fatigued too but much better off than his sister so I think he'll pull through. Pic related, we named him Romeo

Anybody have any happier endings to cheer me up? Does anyone else foster?

Not a foster, but we were looking at a Rottweiler on a shelters Facebook page and immediately called to make sure she was still there, to our surprise she was. When we got there we realized it was because she was shy, didn't like to be pet much, and has a skin condition. The shelter told us that when she showed up there her skin was so bad she barely had any hair and was emaciated. We ended up taking her home and now her skin has completely healed and she's actually the more friendly of our two dogs. I take her to the dog park all the time and she prefers to hang out with the people and get loved on
>>
I don't foster, but I've been known to take in animals.
I was in Mexico for a year and they actually sell baby pigeons for food and medicine.
Some guy bought me two knowing I loved birds and I fed them rolled up tortillas and bred and bird formula for about a month and a half until they started flying. Then I let them outside and they'd come up to my window in the mornings and I'd go outside and pet them and give them some bread and water. Some nights I'd take them back inside and they'd sleep in their old nesting box. I'd take them around to where other pigeons eat and hang out so they know all of the cool spots to hang out like their father would teach them.
After about two weeks of them sometimes showing up in the mornings and nights they came to visit me one last time. I picked them up and pet them and they were gone after that.
I saw them plenty of times before I left
They assimilated into the giant flock nearby.

Then my current pet pigeon was going to die of paramyxovirus because I got him from a hoarder, but now I kind of rescue him every day. He can't feed himself or fly so every morning I hand feed him.

How about these? Anyone know what the hell these are?

I instinctively want to say lingonberries, they look similar to cranberries.

What's a dog that is not too expensive, but is fairly hard to take care of? I live in a big city so I could either buy from a breeder, or go to the pound.

Wew lad, pretty baity. Prepared for some flustered responses. General advice is don't, you aren't just fucking her over, you are also pretty much guaranteeing an innocent dog a shitty life.

Just leak her nudes like a normal butthurt teenager would do

Or ya know just be a man and get revenge by living well and not by ruining someone else's life

I'm gonna fucking kill my dog if she doesn't stop to bark whenever i leave the house. She is a good dog for everythin, she has never broke/chewed/eaten anything but whenever is left alone she fucking start to barks.
Please give me any idea because i tried everything. Next step is anti-barking collar eith electrical shock. If this still doesn't work i'm gonna take her again into shelter where i've fucking picked up her that goddamned day (i fucking swear to myself for thaking that piece of shit outside in all those dogs) or either fucking beat the shit out of her, pull the chip out and leave her somewhere. I have been fined for her barkings and they fucking told me if she doesn't stop they are gonna kick me out from the house where i live in. Give some advice for this fucking piece of shit.

Don't own a dog. Or any animal, really. You're clearly an incompetent owner.

But you're inability to write a coherent sentence makes me assume this is just a bait thread.
>>
I have to add that fucking piece of shit bitch never barked in the fucking shelter. She seemed the most quiet dog in the world and she never barks either to other dogs or people. Just when she is left alone. I mean, what the actual fuck
>>
>>2463439
Oh yeah, it's really my fault.
I tried comportamental vets, i tried reading myself in vets medical books, i have tried to slowly adapt her to my absence, i have tried to give her a toy but nothing.
She has learned everything i wanted but i just can't stop her barking

Now don't know exactly what breed I'm getting but this will be my first dog. I need suggestions based on these things I'm going to say. 1) I'd like a medium sized dog, like a Beagle. 2) I'd like a dog that can be an inside and outside dog. 3) I want a dog that will be friendly and lay in the bed with it's owner. 4) A dog that can be trained to defend.

All I'll say is that beagles can be very loud, if you're willing to deal with that, good. But consider it

I think it would be better if you got the dog to bark in you have intruders and get a gun.

Hey, /an/ my dog has some serious issues. When he was a baby he was found with a gash in his head and his skull exposed and was nursed back to health and bottle fed at the shelter until he was old enough to be up for adoption. He's been depressed his whole life and scared of everything and tonight he just lost it.

It's 3am and he bursts the door open with his nose and I have a hamper in front of it because the chinchilla was out and I move the hamper to yell at him about breaking an entry and he runs in and stops in place with his tail between his legs and all four paws spread out like a deer on ice. He pissed himself right there and the first thing I though was "oh shit he has rabies" he was completely unresponsive and wouldn't walk. He saw my bf holding our chihuahua and jumped onto the bed. He didn't try to bite or anything but he had a hard time getting up and went back to standing with his legs spread out and pissed all over my bed.
I went to wake up my mom to ask her if he had his rabies vaccination and she said yeah and the dog snaps out of it. He's currently outside and my mom said he's done that once during a thunderstorm.

It looked just like that video of the cat with rabies, though.
( https://youtu.be/H8fbAFOMTp4 ) And he's been chasing some pack rats in the garage who could/probably have diseases and he killed two cats and ate some of one that came into the back yard.
Is it possible that he could have rabies?
What the hell is wrong with my good boy?
(pic related is my dog last week before he started acting weird)
Please help /an/ I'm really shook up from the whole thing as it just happened a few minutes ago.
I'll definitely take him to the vet, but I'm worried that immediate action/advice is what I need right now considering how strange the whole thing was.

>>
That doesn't really sound like rabies.

So he pissed on the floor and the bed? Sure he didn't have a stroke?

My last dog started stumbling around and wet himself during a stroke. Then proceeded to wander around whining like he was confused for the next hour before snapping out of it.
>>
stroke or seizure probably. but who knows what it could be if you let him loose to eat vermin.
