The only solution to fixing this on disk DLC, season pass, paid mods, and exclusive pre-order is to remove the 60 dollar base game limit. Have the game companies charge how much their game is worth.
Would you pay over 100 dollars if it meant all this shit went away?
Kill yourself
>"the only way to get rid of this bullshit is to force everyone into it by removing choice"
Fuck off OP
>>382001270
They wouldn't need to charge $100, they could charge $70 or $80 and they'd make more money than they do now with the current model because everyone buying the game would be paying more. If you look at trophy / achievement stats on PS4 and Xbox One, the vast majority of players never play DLC. All the profit they generate on it is from less than 25% of the user base.
I would pay $70 for a new game if it meant they didn't try to Jew us for extra content
I fear I'm getting old, /v/. Every time I try to replay an old game, even one I greatly enjoyed in the past, I always stop at the start.
I know it will get great later, that I will rediscover more stuff, enjoy it more now that I'm older and I experienced more genres, but I really can't bring myself to complete it.
I always buy new games, play them, and then the cycle repeats, because I can't go back to replay them either. It's like my brain thinks "Oh, you already know this/you already read this, skip everything".
I can just wait for the new releases I'm interested in and that's it.
Things weren't like this when I was younger, I could play everything and enjoy everything without problems, even games I had played thousand times before and knew better than my pockets.
Am I getting old? Is it autism? Depression? Do you have the same problem and if you do, how do you cope with it?
It's none of the above, you're bored and need another hobby to supplement videogames.
>>382000910
It's just a thing. From what I can tell it starts off with you replaying old content, when you get bored of that, you just want new content. After that, when there's no new content that you enjoy, you begin to create new stuff.
I'm stuck in the wanting new content phase as well. It's not so bad, just keep finding new stuff to entertain you, maybe try different stuff that you don't think you'll enjoy. Expand your taste.
You might find old stuff you really enjoy that you haven't played before.
Other hobbies also help as this dude said. >>382001112
Go back and play Dark Messiah of Might and Magic.
If you can't have fun kicking the universe to death in the name of your Sauron daddy while an overly devoted succubus sings your praises and tells you how much she loves you, then you truly are a lost cause.
is this worth the 5$?
>>381659221
yes
Oh yeah, totally. Had a good 70 hour playthrough of it to get to the moonlord, if that's still the current end game boss.
>>381659221
yes

How does one make friends in a video game?
>>382000801
I don't know! I'm tired of playing alone... I can't keep this up...
Play well
People will flock to you
Be friendly. Give tips to players that aren't as good and comment on things.
So, /v/, what are your favorite fighting games? If you don't have a specific one you can give a series, I like soulcalibur 5, I don't have a joystick but I'm buying one just for this game (along with a Vita charger and express shipping)
Soul Cal made me feel like I was controlling actual historical fighters, they all move how they're supposed to move, have the agility and speed they're supposed to have, sound great, their techniques and styles are great, their weapons, perfect. (not saying it was balanced, though, Kilik was bullshit)
it's the only "period" fighter where you get to use weapons from different periods, honestly that is a huge selling point, it NEEDS to be brought back, especially Conquest mode.
I love the character creater, I made some weebshit, which is viable, Devil Jin arches down in attacks, so a small devil jin character can actually not be hit by a lot of horizontal attacks because of it, which I fucking love doing online, then psiple spam only verticals, and the problem with a small devil jin is NO RANGE!
I actually wanna get the vita game, just so I can have soulcalibur on the go, as THE VITA IS A DAMN GOOD PURCHASE!
So is this some shitty /v/ troll thing like Boku no Pico on /a/?
I played it and it was a just a generic shitty wrpg with a poor story and terrible combat.
Some people were saying it's better than The Witcher or even close to its quality does anyone actually believe that?
People like how it has a world packed with unique content, rather than typical modern oversized copypasta. Also multiple way to approach quests, all of which make sense. You can enter the guarded city in 4 different ways including just swimming past guards, and you get unique dialog for each.
You may not have realized it yet, but not everyone was born in the year 2000, and thus have superior taste in gaming, and can recognize that an RPG should not mean "hack & slasher with upgrade system".
>>382000642
which ways?
How do you play this? The character is so fucking slow and lazy. I am falling asleep due to the pace of this. Otherwise it's just fine.
>>382000191
its not meant to be a fast game. if you don't appreciate the way its designed and find it boring, simply dont play it. there are many other games that will please u.
>>382000191

Reminder that the Vortex is a godly ship for hard mode.
>starts with 3 points in both weapons and drones
>has a boatload of shit to sell at the start of the game that won't affect your performance
>starts with an engi
Get a defense drone and upgrade your shields early and you're completely free to roam the sectors without any real chance of harm, netting you more scrap, which will let you snowball into late game.
>>382000994
sorry but what game is this? is this the same one where you have a ship and you can see the crew inside?

Will arcades ever return to their former glory? Is there anything that can be done? Or will they soon be a relic of a forgotten era?
>>381658952
they have returned, they're just called microtransactions now.
>>381658952
Unfortunately, no. Modern expectations of what a video game should be can't be squared with the format and forum of a dark, smokey neon-and-black light hole in the wall at the local mall.
