It's ok
Was the block I started in, and have the most nostalgia for. The story for that block got me really interested in lore for the first time in my life. Chainer was given such a shitty time in his life. Mentor killed by his boss, and then eventually killed by the closest thing he could call a real friend.
The main villain in your campaign is being a complete shithead when pic related walks in
what happensMy campaign; the rogue Inquisitor gets his demon-loving head separated from his body, unless his Rosarius protects him

Detroit gets smashed?
Well seeing as this is unknown armies and he's about as squishy as a normal person so he probably gets killed instantly because people in the boku no hero universe seem inherently far more durable than they should be
>>54867635
Allmight is All-Right, but unfortunately not even he can punch the interdimensional horror angel thats unleashing the heavenly host on us to death. He gets brainfucked six ways from sunday when it directly interferes with his electrical chemistry, or it just dodges everything by virtue of the fact it can see the future.
Which one should I get into /tg/?
I only want to play casually with friends, I like the heroes and evil armies in LOTR, but I like the fact that 40k lore seems ongoing and chaos daemons, necrons and hive seem pretty cool lorewise, don't know shit about chaos though really but they look cool
Any recorecommdations?
Infinity
>>54867490
LOTR is completely dead. 40k is great.
>>54867490
>Which one should I get into /tg/?
Necromunda when it is released, get several gangs that you can lend/sell to you friends to get them hooked.
Why are gelatinous cubes called gelatinous cubes? Think about it, the actual danger of the monster is the gelatin part of it; calling it a gelatinous cube infers that it's simply only one type of monstrous cube in the world e.g. wooden cubes or grass cubes. So, logically, shouldn't gelatinous cubes be called cubed gelatins instead?

that's what they were called at first and it stuck

How do most dynasties feel about the Tau? Is it similar to the Eldars opinion but without the small soft spot.
>inb4 depends on the dynasty

Dynasty? What dynasties? Necrons don't into diplomacy, they kill all organic life on contact.
>>54864840
The only correct answer.
It seems like people who hunt people for money might not benefit from a code of ethics. What is a situation that a mercenary/bounty hunter/assassins guild might face that can't be solved with straight up murdering everyone?
>>54864639
Depends on the setting. Generally, it probably involves betraying your employer or fellow guild members in some way.
>>54864639
When murdering everyone is slower than word of mouth or unable to stop it, they'll have a very big problem on their hands. If whoever they've killed were important enough and/or the context surrounding the slaughter damning enough, they may well face an existential problem, with no allies to support them.
>>54864639
If their names are on the contract, it's not murder...
Dear /tg/,

Haha, no that would imply that people would get out of their DnD comfort zone.
>Symbaroum

Seems to be fairly generic fantasy, more or less so. Nothing for me.
>Coriolis
Okay, seems to be some sort of dungeonrunner- sci-fi, rules seem simple enough so it might be something i use to pull in new players.
>Tales from the Loop
>In this pen&paper roleplaying game, you play teenagers in the late Eighties, solving Mysteries connected to the Loop. Choose between character Types such as the Bookworm, the Troublemaker, the Popular Kid and the Weirdo! Everyday Life is full of nagging parents, never-ending homework and classmates bullying and being bullied.
Hahahaha...ha, fuck no. I work on myself, study and play RPG's to get away from my childhood, not to dive head first back into a trauma experience.
So, Emperor of Mankind. He is a complete and utter unfeeling asshole in the current canon, but I think this grossly oversimplifies his character and makes him kinda boring. It is one thing when his personality remains ambiguous, his plans mysterious and his acts great and it is completely different thing when he is portrayed as totally unsympathetic douche who seemingly cares about nothing and no one. I get that he is the ultimate being and all, but can we have just a little bit of conflict in him? I mean he used to be so full of compassion, he couldn`t even kill Horus the moment he saw him, but I bet now they will re-write that iconic scene into something horrific and unrecognizable. Hell, I don`t even like the Big E that much, I just want him to be more of a complex character, I think the fucking Emperor of all people deserves it.
So tell me about the Emperor of Mankind, /tg/. Do you like the current canon? What would you change? What is your Emperor like?
fire ADB hire Bruva Alfabusa
declare TTS as the new canon
What a lot of whiners fail to realize is that the current 40k setting is one where even for those who DO feel things, they must sacrifice everything, even their own emotions, for the sake of their own or humanity's survival.
This is why you have things like Celestine losing a part of her soul every time she resurrects, or characters having to suppress empathy or mercy in the name of the Imperium.
The Emperor is a god who has transcended past the point of "needing to suppress his emotions" and has actually done it outright. He does care about humanity and humanity's survival, but if this means he has to be cruel to a few trillion human lives so that the future will arrive, he will do it without any remorse or hesitation. Because he is a god.
The only reason the characters are surprised by this in M41 is because when he was still in human form, he at least made a show of pretending he cared. Now that he is a warp god anchored to a corpse, he has no time or need for that bullshit.
I'm totally fine with the Emperor being an unfeeling asshole- if anything it makes sense considering his history. How many people, civilizations, hell entire worlds can you watch die while being immortal for thousands of years before you eventually become distanced from your own humanity.
I get the impression that people don't like this portrayal of the Emperor because they feel that it makes the traitors more sympathetic, but it doesn't. The Emperor being a sociopath still doesn't make any of the traitors' rebellions justifiable. Not Horus, nor Agron, Lorgar, any of them.
So I've always liked weird magic users, anyone wanna talk about them?
I've always liked magic puppet users, sorta like that idiot from naruto.
There was that dude from Vash the Stampede who used human puppets as well, though they weren't as magical.
Weird magic is always interesting though, generally anything that tends to bypass the norm.

Vamps and Prometheans probably didn't exist yet. Changelings, Sin-Eaters, and Hunters would have operated basically the same. I don't remember the chronology but Mummies would have existed by that point, right? Though not as spread out from not!Egypt. Demons are kind of a wild card since it's unclear in what capacity the God Machine would have been operating at that point.
>>54846967
No. Mummies have yet to be buried. It mentions that in the book. The people who buried them are still alive.
Prometheans would be different, but would still be around. The Osirins are based off Egyptian lore, probably from sometime around that age (or way off, because Egypt was doing stuff for forever).
They would just have different backgrounds. The ones made from spirits/ghosts gangbanging a corpse would probably be the most common.
To the guy asking of this image last thread, it's from the Daeva Clanbook

a player of mine's character was blinded long ago by an enemy and has never been able to cure it, until recently they found a genie who curses people with the wishes, but the player knowing this said "Anything is better than being blind any longer" and wished for his sight back.
and i wasn't really expecting any of them to make a wish on the genie knowing hes an asshole. so I'm trying to come up with the downside for wishing for his sight back since thats the genies schtick.
>>54844030
Well, you can just make him really bad sighted, he didn't say he wanted GOOD eyesight. He just said he didn't want to be blind.
Or, you know, make him mute or deaf. Either or.
Do you remember the specific wording of the wish?
>>54844070

There'll probably be a shrine world somewhere in there.
Chaos players need to get their soul grinders, titans, and knights together!
